Freeland Café and Lounge

Sadly, the new owners are missing the knowledge to operate this long established restaurant. A popular eatery for many years but now a community disappointment. The poor service & long wait times for food are not acceptable. Too many excuses! The kitchen doesn't have the skills to keep food preparation completed (in a normal customer waiting time expectation). Nope! Gave the new ownership many opportunities to keep me as a customer but I am DONE! 4 bad experiences in a row is enough.

The menu is misleading since they don't have or serve a lot of the items listed.Tried to order clam chowder, they didn't have it. Tried to order mushroom tempura, they no longer serve it.Tried to order loco moco, but was told they aren't serving breakfast anymore (despite menu saying they serve breakfast all day and loco moco is a lunch or dinner typically, although it can be had for breakfast). They explained it couldn't be served because it has eggs....but they said we could have loco moco fries, which also have eggs. Tried to order 2 milkshakes to go, and found out a few minutes later they were out of to go cups. The server suggested cheesecake instead. We ordered it as suggested. She came back and told us it was not an option because it was still frozen.We ordered an impossible burger, and both the fries and burger were way undercooked.As you can tell by my other reviews, I do not typically leave bad reviews unless something was extremely horrible. It seems like other people had a good experience here, so hopefully they were just having a very off day.Despite advertising all day breakfast, breakfast is not served all day.The cream in the milkshake was good, but the shake was more like a drink than a shake.

Every time I eat at the Freeland Cafe, I am ALWAYS glad that I went. Today, as usual, I was very satisfied both with the food and the service. Frankly, when I read negative statements about the restaurant, I am perplexed. My experience has been nothing but the best! And, believe me, I will eat there often! Oh...their chicken fried steak for breakfast IS THE BEST - tender, tasty, with lots of gravy!

Just tell me what I can have, Freeland Cafe. This is the restaurant of "no". Walked in and it was busy. It took about 5 minutes to even be acknowledged by the server. Finally got seated and tried to order. First try - Clam Chowder. "We don't have that", our server said. Ok, then, I'll have a bowl of Chili. "We don't have that either", said our server. Maybe their menu needs to be updated and the things they don't carry be removed.I finally ordered a Patty Melt with Onion Rings. I received a Patty Melt with fries, which is just as well, as the Onion Rings are a $4.50 up charge, making a Patty Melt with Onion Rings over $20."Anything else I can bring you?" our server said as she dropped off our food. "Yes, a side of Tartar Sauce, please" I said. "We can't do a side of Tartar Sauce because we're running low and saving it for people who order fish". OK then.Patty Melt was good, clearly the Rye Bread was fried in butter and the onions thinly sliced. The French Fries lacked any seasoning at all and needed a hefty dash of salt.There are much better options than Freeland Cafe. Don't waste you time here.

Loved this place. Stumbled into it while driving through Freeland. They serve breakfast all day and have salads and sandwiches. Friendly atmosphere, cooked to order, great portion size and decent prices.

This has become a terrible place in recent years. it used to be a fine place to eat. we went there recently around 6PM, dinner time on one of the days they were open for dinner. Just a few people there and it took almost an hour to get a cheeseburger and fries, and a salad with chicken. The salad was not fresh or good.Some just was really off. We won't be returning.

Not a fan of the new FC. Overpriced, poor service, food was no good and not as big of a selection as they use to have.It now says "wait to be seated". I waited for 10 minutes without even being acknowledged. We just went and ate in the bar. (Sorry we did)Unfortunately, we won't be going back to our used to be favorite place.

Good food, friendly service. We're treated like welcome old friends. The staff remembers who likes cream in their coffee, the customers' favorite jam...I don't know how they do it but it sure is great. Casual, comfortable, yummy.

Please keep supporting this local treasure. Clean, good service, comfort food, full bar, all day breakfast. Great!!

Employees have a complete lack of customer service and professionalism. I'm questioning how they are still in business. The one time I went they were out of everything and the stuff they did have they refused to sell for various reasons.
