Fred & Jack's

This place is my fave lil spot in my neighborhood. They make the best polish and fries, and milkshakes for a fair price. I don't say that to say, "Raise the prices," but just keep doing what you're doing because it's working.

**Review for Fred & Jacks**I've been a loyal customer of Fred & Jacks for 20 years, but my recent experience was beyond disappointing. I placed an order online, intending to simply pick it up, but it turned into an incredibly frustrating ordeal. When I arrived, I politely informed the African American lady at the window that I was just there to collect my food, and she asked me to wait. While I waited, I witnessed her yelling at three different customers over their orders. One woman never received her milkshake, another man was missing cheese, and a third customer who had lost his ticket was banging on the window. Instead of helping him, she yelled at him to stop banging on her window. After waiting for ten minutes, I asked again about my order, only to have her yell at me as well. I couldn't believe the way she was treating everyone, so I told her off because no customer deserves to be spoken to like that, especially after paying for their food. I eventually asked the gentleman taking orders about my food, but I left with a sour taste in my mouth from the whole experience.For reference, the employee in question was wearing all purple, including an ombré purple shirt. She needs to be fired because yelling at customers is completely unacceptable behavior. Fred & Jacks has always been a place I loved, but this kind of treatment makes me think twice about returning.

If you want the absolute worst food on the Southside this is the spot. My group ordered gyros, chicken wings, a fish sandwich and a steak sandwich. Each order came with greasy fries that were cooked in days old grease, the gyros weren't included in the initial pick up (so we had to drive back a second time,) the chicken wings were passable, fish sandwich severely overcooked and the steak was well, tough as hell.If you have the misfortune to visit this establishment order a strawberry shake and then leave immediately.An absolute waste of time and money.

Ordered thru GrubHub or Door dash (forget which) and I dug the food. I had the birria tacos and some fries with mild sauce. While it wasn't the best birria I've had, it was darn good (and filling.) Price was reasonable ($22 with tip) so I'll order from them again and try other items on their menu

Yo wtf is this? I ordered 3 "Chicago style" dogs with no relish and I got two pickles, lettuce?, two sport peppers, onion, and a load of mustard. And how hard is it to cook fries. They were soggy and greasy! Just serve Mexican food because you sure can't do American. And get better attitudes or gtfo of Chicago

The main parts in the food like bread are usually out Fred and Jacks service is nice and all but it can be better overall its really good when you get the chance to eat it

Always love going here.I say I go at least once a week and the food is always delicious. And the staff never stops working it's stays packed. So you might have to wait but it's worth it

Ordered on DD 2/24/2023. Order, was confirmed, prepared, and delivered in a timely fashion. Items:-Chocolate shake= not a malt but very good!-steak/chicken tacos= This beef is ground. It is not cubes or chunks of beef. The chicken is shredded. The are soft tacos that didn't hold up well during delivery. I was also not a huge fan of the seasoning they use but I fixed that.-bacon cheeseburger with fries= this item is the MOAB! It's the size of a manhole cover with 2 large patties. This thing was easily a half a pound! Generous condiments including bacon, cheese, avocado, onion. I addK,L,T at home so the veggies hold up. All in all, surprised and fairly impressed. If you want a massive, solid burger that is more like Fuddrucker's than a scrawny burger from McD's. I suggest trying them out. Solid burger, fries, and shakes. Tacos were "ok".

I got my order through Uber Eats and when it was delivered I realized my Birria tacos were not made how I requested. I called the store and spoke with the cook and cashier. Somehow Uber Eats messed up communication of what I wanted vs what they made. I didn't live far so I was willing to drive there to switch my order out. There were understanding of the mistake and took my old ones back(threw them out) and made mines fresh. I appreciate the customer service and will be back again for dinner tonight

This place has truly gone down. Ordered an Italian beef it was horrible! Meat was tough and dry. Went back the next day to return the rest and was denied a refund. They offered me a double cheeseburger. I don't want no burger! I want my money back. I come to this place at least once a week. They don't have to worry about me anymore.
