My husband and I were incredibly impressed with this restaurant while visiting Boston. I made a reservation online and specified it was our anniversary. Upon arrival, we were not only wished a happy 3rd anniversary but they even printed it on our menus (which they also let us have). The ambiance was romantic but lively with moderate noise level. The open kitchen format is fun. We sat at a high top table and had Faith as our server. She was very nice and friendly. Since it was our first time here, she explained that the dishes are meant to be shared like family style. We ordered the Taleggio Stuffed Focaccia, Broccoli Alla Griglia "Caesar", Prosciutto e Melone, Agnolotti del Plin, and Milanese Di Maiale. Everything was not only delicious, flavorful, and well-seasoned but it all seemed to make sense and work together well even though we just picked 5 dishes from the menu. The Taleggio Stuffed Focaccia and the Broccoli Caesar are must tries! The amount of gooey cheese sandwiched within the focaccia was outrageous. My husband was skeptical about the Broccoli Caesar but then said it was the best broccoli he's ever had. My husband enjoyed the prosciutto and melon so much he devoured it. The agnolotti pasta is so delicately filled with braised beef. The Milanese was perfectly crispy but had complementary accoutrements that made it feel more fresh and vibrant. The whole meal was awesome but we never say no to dessert. We ordered the strawberry yuzu crostata with cereal milk ice cream. So good! I cannot express enough how wonderful everything was all around, especially the service. We were pleased with Faith as our server, but other staff also frequently came by our table to keep our water glasses filled and wish us a happy anniversary. A warm, welcoming dining experience which is very on-brand with this family style meal. My husband and I agree this was the best meal of our Boston trip. It checks all our boxes and we would 100 percent return if we are ever back in the area.

Food was exceptional, so balanced and bright. You can clearly see the chefs here are talented and know what they're doing. We sat at the chefs counter and it was a little tight. It was cool to see the chefs work but I would just sit at a regular table next time. We had the broccoli caesar (must get), burrata (insane & maybe my fav dish here due to that delicious salad-like shallot component on top), mushroom mafaldini, bolognese & branzino (salsa verde is unreal) but fish was just ok. Service was overall good.

Food: Everything was amazing. Came with a party of 6, and we enjoyed everything from the appetizers to desserts. Didn't have leftovers to take home haha.Service: Our waitress was super friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about the food. For a busy labor day weekend, the food was also pretty fast.Ambiance: Very happening restaurant, it definitely gets busy and is in a fun area of South Boston. I walked here from Seaport, and the area is quite nice. The bathrooms are also really clean as well!

My husband and I were looking for a restaurant to go to for anniversary in the Boston area because we were touring around the East Coast. We found this restaurant because it was close to our hotel and we are big fans of chef Karen. We sat at the chefs counter, which was really cool to see everything that was going on, and our server was awesome. He was very patient and explained everything to us and guided us to making the right drink choices. We ordered the olives and burrata for an appetizer, agnolotti, and pork dish to share for our mains. We like the vibe of the restaurant and the food choices were the perfect portions and also very delicious. If we are ever in Boston again, we will be sure to come back and eat here again. Not to mention, they reached out ahead of time to see what anniversary were celebrating so that they can print it on our menu. It was very nice.

Love this place. 5/5 went solo and ate at the bar. Great cozy bar vibe with open kitchen. A little noisy thoughThe theme here is simple dishes with fresh ingredients. Non pretentions. just a whole lotta love in the food. Proof you dont need foie gras or truffles in every dish to be delicious. Started with the liver mousse 5/5 came with with some well done flavorful crispy bread to spread on. The mousse was very delicate and creamy. No mineral taste at all just savory and delicious2nd was the broccoli Caesar. Charred crispy broccoli with a lovely cesser dressing. Full of flavor and delicious aged parmesan cheese. Very simple and very delicious 5/5 tagliatelle bolognese was my main course. The wild boar was also very delicate. Light flavor wish it was a bit more bold but still delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and had a very light spice to it. Small portion but still filled me up 4.5/5Dessert I had some strawberry dish on tope of some croissants like base. It was simple reaching light and absolutely delicious. It is seasonal for summer so get this before it's gone. I will come here again and highly recommend everyone who comes here 5/5

We've had the pork Milanese sandwich at parish cafe so we came to try the dish that it was based on!We sat at the bar and service was great. We had the chicken liver, steak tartare, and the Milanese. We loved the chicken liver! The tartare was on the smaller side (2 halves of a toast), but had too many onions. The Milanese was good but only came with three dollops of the saffron aioli so the pork was a bit dry. The sandwich at parish is way better so we'll be eating that instead going forward! Overall the restaurant is cute and worth a visit but didn't wow us.

Went to visit Boston for my brother in law to run the marathon. Decided to try this restaurant out per my sister's recommendation and a few locals. For beverages I ordered a Ferrari (ginger beer with pomegranate and lime) and my sister and her friend ordered a pomelo mocktail and strawberry based wine. The Ferrari was pretty good. We also ordered focaccia, the tartare and for pastas (funghi, bolognese and ravilo carbonara). All delicious but my favorite was the funghi. Service was okay. I loved our waitress but I was disappointed she didn't offer us a dessert menu after dinner. I'm assuming they were closing soon, but I would say that's my only suggestion for improvement. It's a cozy aesthetic with a small open kitchen. Most people are dressed semi-casual.

I have watched and followed the owner Karen for years and finally made it to The Fox and the Knife!!! Everything I could have hoped for and beyond food wise, staff wise, service and ambience! Janice our server was beyond professional and friendly answering all our questions! And we had many! She even took the time to show us how to approach the whole Branzino which none of us had ever had. Delicious. I believe we had 10 courses of food and nothing disappointed! Katie was so gracious when we finished our meal and joined her at the bar. What a delightful human! Matt even came over and said hello while we were eating which so unexpected and very appreciated as it had become obvious to everyone how excited I was to finally go to The Fox and the Knife!!! We will be back for sure! Thank you for such an outstanding experience Karen and thank you for an outstanding staff of humans!!!!
