First, you need to know this is a CA$H establishment. I was In the area returning my grand Littles to their father that morning. A friend came with me for the drive and we wanted to find a brunch place in the Thurber area. Yelp led us to Zims Café. The atmosphere is a mix of appreciating the past with a touch of Austin artisan. The pottery is handmade by the proprietor. The coffee cups fit your hand perfectly! So perfect, I purchased one to take home. The food itself is really good and fairly priced. Everything was done to my preferences. (Over medium -right on the money!) The hollandaise sauce was exactly to my taste with the lemon evident but not overpowering. I would have purchased a pint of that to take with me too but didn't think to ask at the moment! The owners are personable and the business was steady. I would go out of my way to come here again.

Great little cafe run by owner and wife. Very Friendly said that wanted to save the building so decided to open Resturaunt. Today is actually their 1 year anniversary so I decided to add them to Yelp for others to find. Place is simple and cozy. Coffee served in pottery cups hand made by owner. I had eggs Benedict and added sausage which has spicy and very tasty. Eggs are local on property so very fresh. Dad had the Eggs, potatoes and Sausage. Equally delicious. We will be back

Farm fresh food. Reasonable prices. Friendly owners. Best stop for breakfast in Strawn. You won't be disappointed.

For some reason, Yelp list the location as San Antonio, but the map is correct. It's in Strawn, Tx. Excellent brunch! Fresh ingredients and not only does it taste great, it's wonderful to look at. Open for brunch on Saturday and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. I love the French toast with fruit. Had eggs, sausage and home made biscuits this morning and they were excellent. I'm not sure what is done to the eggs, but they are so much better than any I cook at home. Maybe it's because they are fresh eggs?.. which you can also buy while you're there. It was once a filling station many years ago and they have tables outside under the old awning for those beautiful mornings like we had today. Gary and Diana are wonderful hosts. He makes pottery (the coffee cups were made by him), and she does the wonderful cooking. They are both artists! I highly recommend taking the short detour off I-20 if you are driving by while they are open!

Friendly family owned cafe. Very simple menu and very nice food. Definitely recommend to stay here for breakfast on your trip to Possum Kingdom Lake!
