Z Bar Cattle

We have visited both locations (Argyle and Keller). The staff is very knowledgeable. The selection is divine and we have been happy with beef and chicken.Great additions to our shopping experience.They even have pickles!

I really love Z Bar Cattle. They have an excellent selection of meats to choose from, both frozen and fresh, their prices are just right and the quality is excellent. The staff is always willing to answer your questions and's explain the differences between different cuts and will even provide suggestions on what you should consider depending on what you're cooking. You can also custom order meats if you need to as well. We also love their bacon. It's incredibly flavorful and puts all grocery store bacon to shame. I have also purchased their jalapeño poppers multiple times which is a great way to skip the hassle of preparing your own if you're in a rush. I can't recommend Z Bar Cattle enough. They're the best butchers in town!

Wow. Maybe "manager" Alex was just having a bad day. Made me feel very unwelcome. I'm just coming in to try and buy some meat, Alex. You could be just a little helpful in that regard. Jeez. *update - ok from reviews below looks like it's not Alex's first bad day.

I want to support local.. I liked the story about her being able to eat their grass finished beef despite her autoimmune disease.Funny to show up and they don't sell any grass finished beef. I guess we don't deserve the good stuff...I bought a few things but have found a couple other ranches that sell grass finished beef.

If you haven't made it to Z-bar to get a tenderloin, prime rib, peppered bacon, or any other meat for that matter, you are missing out! I have been visiting this meat market since they opened. They are the best available, and that includes Central Market. They even have meat good for dogs. It's way more healthy than the junk you get at the pet store. Give them a try!

Very friendly. They sell packaged raw dog food which was my main reason for going. My oldest dog absolutely loves it. They also have raw dog bones. The beef I purchased was delicious. Would definitely recommend. FYI they will save rib eye fat cuttings for you if you ask in advance.

Grass fed beef at it's finest! Man oh man am I glad I found this butcher house gem near my house. No longer will I be subjugated to inferior beef at the local grocery store and big box membership warehouse clubs! Z Bar Cattle is the place to go for BEEF! Yes it costs more but you really get what you pay for here. We picked up three rib eye's for fathers day, I posted pics of them, and they were beautiful. We slightly seasoned them and threw on some olive oil, grilled each side for six minutes and KAH-BAM! it was steak heaven! You can really taste the difference. I'm not sure if its due to the grass fed nature, or they take great care of their cattle, or maybe they whisper sweet nothings into the cattle's ears at night but wow you can tell the difference in top shelf or top bar quality fo their steaks. I also picked up their steak burger and Wagyu burgers, they were both excellent. But to be honest the Wagyu burger just had that extra marbling that did the trick. Going forward we will only get our beef from this fantastic butcher. I can't wait to try out the pork chops and bacon!

Purchased pork chops. Excellent, I'm 73 and these are the best I've ever had. Going back for Rib Eyes. Service was very helpful and friendly.

Last time I will go to Z bar. Excellent meats, but the customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. Walked in, no customers. I asked if they had plate ribs and the guy behind the counter said nothing for about 10 seconds, just stared at me like he wanted to kick me out of the place. He went back to get one, and his co worker apologized to me for him. I would have just left, but I had to cook later and had no other option. Oh well, won't ever be back. Lost a long time loyal customer.

Excellent meat. Well worth the price. The meat is some of the greatest tasting pieces of steak my son and I have ever had. They sell pork shoulders as well as beef, and my son cooked one of the greatest pulled pork's I have ever had with the pork shoulder they sold us. It had excellent flavor. This place has become our go to spot for beef.
