Hubby and I did the omakase with sake pairing and it was great! Everything was good and our sushi chef (Dylan) was informative and answered any of our questions. He was awesome. Staff was really great too. We had a 8pm reservation and it was busy so they were running a little behind which was fine to me, it happens. It's a small place. My only complaint, I'm a short girly so I wish the seats were a little higher so we could see the chefs preparing our next dish.

I really enjoyed our dining experience at Yujo. Our friends have been to Yujo several times and recommended we gave it a try. The four of us were able to sit at the Chef's counter and had the personalized Omakase experience. I can see why my friends love Yujo so much. The restaurant is not very large and have a nice, relaxing atmosphere about it.There were many courses and every omakase can be different. So I won't go into the details of what we had. There were good bites and great bites. We tried a few new things including dry-aged sashimi. While I can see the draw, I must admit I am not fully convinced I'd prefer dry-age sashimi vs. the good o'sashimi. But we did really really appreciate the personal attention & interaction with the chef, the explanation he provided, and overall, just casual feel of who dining experience.Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Yujo and can understand why our friends picked Yujo as recommended sushi joint for us to try in our short one-week stay when there are so many choices in the Dallas area.

I went here for a birthday dinner and had their miyabi omakase! I believe the pricing was around $75 per person but honestly it was pretty filling and I loved how much more intimate this location was compared to their frisco location! The service was friendly and the pace of the courses were perfect! The oyster starter was a liiiitle fishy for me but other than that every other piece was super fresh and yummy! Loved the uni and kanpachi - the chawanmushi and miso soup served towards the end of the course was also a perfect ending to the meal :)We also tried a few of their drinks - i reeeally enjoyed the Karai drink, it was the perfect blend of spicy, refreshing, and lightly sweet! I would go back just for that drink hehe

What a great experience! Yujo offers a Tuna Cutting Show once a month and I was able to attend their November show. This show is unique to Yujo and I haven't heard of anything like this in the Dallas area. When we arrived, we were seated and ordered drinks (Pacific 75 - Yuzu Sake with Honey). There was a bar area and table area. The show promptly started at 7PM where the chefs brought out the 180 lbs Bluefin Tuna! The chef explained where the fish came from (this tuna came from Baja California) and the different tuna cuts. Once the fish was sliced, the chefs started preparing the dishes since this was also a Toro Omakase. We started with a Tartare with Caviar then the different dishes came out. All throughout the omakase experience, the chef brought around the different slices of fish; he brought out the head, explained the colors of the meat, and taught us about their dry aging process, and more. The whole experience was very informational and delicious! My favorite dishes were the 22-day dry aged otoro (it was full of umami flavor) and the akami skewer (it tasted like barbecue!) After the omakase, we got shots to celebrate and we ordered a la carte at no additional cost (some dishes had an up-charge but we didn't order that). I highly recommend the Tuna Cutting Show at Yujo because it is a memorable experience! I heard about making reservations by following their Instagram page.

As those close to me know, I've been endlessly searching for sushi spot replacements since I moved here from Houston. The Yujo restaurants are one branch I've been visiting a lot whenever I crave sushi in North Dallas. Starting with the food, I always get a large variety of Golden Seafoam nigiri (scallop foie gras), wagyu nigiri, all-in-one nigiri, foie gras nigiri, snapper nigiri, salmon nigiri, salmon belly nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, bluefin nigiri, aji nigiri, all their dry-aged nigiri options, and more. I don't really like their crudos nor their starters, but their nigiri (especially the specialty ones like the Golden Seafoam) are pretty top-notch. My favorite aspects of this restaurant are the incorporation of foie gras and dry-aged nigiri pieces. This place satisfies my sharp cravings for gourmet sushi when I know I won't be going to Houston for a while. Their hot sake is also average, I always get it when I come here but like many other places, it's obvious they just microwave normal sake and one time they charged me for a full hot sake, yet gave me half a bottle (I'm guessing a lot of it evaporated in the microwave). While the food is pretty good, the service here is really not the best unless you sit at the sushi bar. In the multiple times I've been here with friends and family, we've gotten a large variety of servers: some with a bad attitude, some who look like they have no clue what's going on, some who forget our order despite us asking 3 times, and rarely we get the tall gentlemen who is our favorite server. We never got his name, but he is our favorite, always gets our order correct, and brings our food out quickly. The rest of the servers we've had have been okay, but never 100% on point with their service. When we sit at the sushi bar, the sushi chefs ensure we're taken care of, so we'll be sitting there from now on. Also, the chairs and tables here are pretty uncomfortable. The bench at the tables don't match well with the height of the table and I had to hunch over the whole time, which hurt my back. While I do love this place, I cannot give it 5 stars with how many issues there are with the service + ambiance of the restaurant. However, I will be returning and hoping that my next experiences with their service will wow me enough to increase this review to 5 stars.

This location is more quiet and intimate than the other sister locations. The staff here are equally as friendly and welcoming. They guide you through the omakase course and give you an overall wonderful experience.

Overall we had a great experience here! We decided to go a la carte because many times with omakase I find that they don't bring the items I really want to try. I found it super strange that they don't offer sashimi on their menu. The chef did still give us some tuna sashimi once we requested it. The oyster shooter was probably my favorite. I don't think we'd be back given a) the price point and b) there are just too many sushi places to try.

Wow, the food was amazing! The price was decent as well! We did the 75 dollar omakase and everything was delicious and creatively made. The omakase was fast paced. The staff was attentive and friendly. The decor was cute as well. If I had more money I'd definitely do the MKP omakase, I would have done it. Plus the chef was cute too so food for the belly and eye candy for your eyes haha. He talked low so I could not hear what the dishes were lol.

Had a great experience tonight while dining at Yujo. The atmosphere was perfect for the restaurant, it was a small and personable environment and the service fit! We thought the food was good and the menu was elastic.

The owner + sushi chefs takes care of you really well. If you're one of the lucky customers sitting at the sushi bar, the sushi chef will make sure all of your needs are accommodated!
