Felt like I was in a kindergarten class...the instructor talked to us like we were 5. "Now this is baby brush....put baby brush in the water cup". "This one we'll call big brush"! "Put big brush in your cup". I turned to my friend and said....no wonder they do this at bars...you have to have a drink to get through 2 hours of your kindergarten lesson. Once I was about 3 drinks in I just ignored the instructor all together and had a blast. The concept is great, I like that they move around to different places that have bars and not byob like Painting with a twist.I'll take another class....but won't take my seat until I've had a few drinks, thats fa sho.

Painting AND drinking???! YES!!! This is the perfect combination of fun and creativity and I highly recommend it! I went with a group of friends to a Paint Nite event at Blue Mesa in Addison. They had a private room in the back for us, and there were probably around 40-50 "students" total. I would recommend that you get there earlier, especially if you have a large group, so that you can pick seats together and in the front where you can see all the action. The painting that we did was a moderate difficulty level, but I thought it wasn't that difficult and that the easy level would have been too easy. Our instructor was so much fun and laid back. One thing you have to understand before going to paint nite is that this is not going to be a real in-depth painting class. The instructor teaches you what colors to mix and how to put the paint on the canvas, and everything else is really up to you and your creativity. I enjoyed seeing how everyone else's paintings turned out and I was surprised at how different all the paintings were. At the end of paint nite, our instructor gave us a coupon code for 40% off future paint nite events. I'm itching to go to another paint nite and just have to find some friends to go with. Everyone should go it's so much fun!!

Great activity to do with a friend or for a special occasion like a graduation or birthday party. You don't have to be a professional painter to have fun and create a good work of art. Just remember to have fun and go with the flow. It will look good in the end.

I truly love the connection of painting and dining! Wasn't sure what to think since i had only done the painting where you bring your own wine and snacks. The waiter was fantastic. Not sure how Paint Nite picks where they will have their classes, but kudos on that and the setup and the level of fun!! Music, lights, painting, wine=lots of fun!!

Really fun activity that can be done with a friend or a larger group. It's suited for all levels painters.I like art-y activities but am generally not good at coming up with something to make. I like that this gives you the option of either following exact directions or deviating when you feel like it. Every time I've gone, I've been proud of the final product (even have one hanging in my office)They have options at tons of bars around the area. Pick one with a good happy hour and get there early!

Let me tell you, I was ecstatic when I heard about the concept of Paint Nite. I've done Painting with a Twist previously, but was intrigued by the idea of painting a restaurant you would normally eat at! So I did my research and picked a night where the restaurant happened to be close to work (Jakes in Frisco) and the painting was an all-time favorite of mine (their version of Van Gough's Starry Night). Living Social has a $25 deal and with the MLK discount, it was merely $20. Great find!Everything is set up for you when you arrive (the easels, water, and brushes). You create your own palette and the instructor teaches you how to paint from mixing the correct color to the brush strokes to use. The great thing about it is that people get really creative with their own paintings and although everyone is painting the same thing, all our art works looked completely different! Jakes was the perfect setting because we were in a little room closed off in the back and we could order snacks/food/drinks as we painted. My friend and I had a good time painting and we had so much fun! It was my friend's first time painting and she now has a wonderful painting to go on the walls of her new apartment! They have a couple of paintings of the Dallas skyline that would definitely like to try in the future.

OK I bought the Groupon for date night. Husband ended up having a scheduling conflict so I took a friend - and we had a blast. It was great to see how very different everyone's style truly made the same piece of art look complately different! The instructions were a bit elementary but if you go in with the thought of just having fun and not that it is a serious art class you will be well served. And speaking of serving, whoever decided to go to Agave Azul is brilliant. Yummy maragaritas!

I love Paint nite! Have been to a bunch since its inception and every time I have so much fun! This has quickly become a favorite activity among by friends here, and we have gone to several. Note, unlike some other groups, this specific brand holds events at bars and thus you will have to buy cocktails and drinks there, unlike some groups where you can BYOB. But usually there are great deals and your can't go wrong with booze and paints! This is fun for abilities of all levels and everyone has fun ---the novice and the seasoned painter alike! And with such a variety of painting options, there are good canvas options for everyone. And in the end, you come out with a great art piece!

Great way to get to know new family. Went with the aunt and two sisters of my fiance. Had a great time. We did use a Groupon which meant more money for a little "liquid inspiration" at Cru (where the wine options were great.)Note that this is just for fun, so don't bother getting serious about it. The instructor did a great job keeping about 30 people on task.

Venue was Cru Wine Bar in Watters Creek. I wish they had cheaper wines available. The apps were okay. Jessie did a good job with instruction, but the painting was hard. Paint Nite is a fun diversion and I recommend trying it with friends.
