Showed up around noon last Saturday, and the weather was perfect. I knew there was a TCU game, but it didn't start for another six hours, so surely the crowd here would be minimal, right? No. That did not matter because it seemed that at least half of the students attending TCU as well as their parents, siblings, cousins, papaws, meemas, and all of their neighbors were here to pre-game early - this place was PACKED inside and out. It was a sea of purple, too. Well, we had nothing better to do than wait and drink, so that's what we did. We waited an hour and a half before we got a table, and it was another hour before the food was finally laid out before us. There were a lot of drinks drank... lots of dranked drinks. By the time the food came it was nearly 3:00, and I was freggin' DRUNK!I ate a little bit of everything - the brisket, the ribs, the sausage, the little stuffed peppers... It was all good. Was it the best I have ever eaten? Well, no. The brisket was a tad bit on the dry side, the ribs could have been a little more tender. The sausage was a bit... different, special maybe, and I think it might have been my favorite thing here. Those red peppers stuffed with brisket were pretty good, too, as was the beans and potato salad. The hostess told us it would be a while before we got a table, and our waitress also warned us when we ordered it would be at least 45 minutes before it came out. It's good to be warned like that - it sets expectations. Besides, I'm glad there was a wait, I had a real good time catching up with great friends here (one of which had to drive me and my car away from this woodshed once we were done!).

If you're looking for a restaurant that has barbecue, pescatarian and vegetarian options, this might be the place for you. I found this place on Yelp, and I was super excited. It checked all the boxes.. I'm on a pescatarian diet, so I was excited when I looked at the menu because they had multiple options that I could choose from. While looking at the menu, they had things that my husband and kid would eat too!! They eat all the meats. We came here for our anniversary, we were looking for something good and low-key, because we we're taking our kid with us. When we got there, we asked one of the staff members what he would recommend and he gave us some options. And when we went in, we were greeted and seated immediately. Iur waiter, John,.who was awesome! Came over and took our drink orders, , my husband and kid got sodas, and I got the jalapeno cucumber Margarita, which was very tasty,I must say. Then we ordered our food. My husband got the chicken skins, my kid got the giant pretzel, crispy potatoes and I got Brussels sprouts. For our entrees, my husband and kid got pork ribs, and I got the salmon tacos and the Thai corn. Unfortunately, my husband did not like the chicken skins and John graciously took them away and took them off of our ticket. Then they brought the rest of the appetizers. We really enjoyed the pretzel and crispypotatoes. I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts but my husband just thought they were okay. Then they brought our main courses out and my husband and daughters ribs were really dry, but my husbands were the worst, John came back around to see how our food was. My husband mentioned that it was just okay and John said he would bring out some new ribs that were more moist. They were more moist, but my husband did not think they were seasoned well. At least in comparison to other barbecue places that we've been. My salmon tacos were amazing. They are deconstructed, so you put them together yourself. But the slaw was really good and the sauce was really good and the salmon was cooked perfectly. My Thai corn was okay. It tasted more like regular elote instead of Thai. But I would get it again. Overall, the barbecue was just okay, but the veggies and fish were good. I also got 2 oysters. There $3.50 a piece, and they were cooked perfectly as well. They even had a little extra butter sauce that you could dip your little bread in. So because only half of the food was good, I raided them a 3. If I had just gone by myself I probably would have rated them higher. If you go during the day when it's warm, they have a big patio area to sit outside. We technically sat inside, but they had the doors open and it did get a little chilly, but it was doable. If you sit outside, you can see the water.

Friendly service, delicious food , love the open ambiance , plenty of seating inside , out , or at the bar. They smoke everything in house. Probably one of the best baked potatoes I have ever had. Wide variety menu options. Definitely recommend and will be back. Food comes out quick .

Woodshed is often a requested stop by friends in town, and we finally visited! Beverage options are plentiful (whether ordering from the bars or at table), bbq is delicious (special shout-out for the Woodshed Burger that's topped with sausage and brisket) AND the smoked chocolate mini-pie, and location is hybrid indoor-outdoor (garage like doors can drop on extra cool or breezy days/nights). Decor is rustic. Servers are amazing - give great recommendations and are attentive. Only reason for the four (vs five) stars is parking. Just bring $10 + tip (or ask your server to add it to your bill) and choose valet. Enjoy!

A local Sunday brunch spot that has a great, dog-friendly patio! We dined outside with our pups and enjoyed great food and service. I loved the cheddar biscuits with brisket gravy. So good! Tip: get there early because it gets busy around 11.

Last time I visited Woodshed during covid (2020) I came for the "Tomahawk Prime Rib" only to be disappointed it wasn't available. Seems the dish is now permanently off the menu. I has sad as I wanted to see if it compared to my local Salt Lick BBQ 32oz bone in Prime Rib in Driftwood, Texas. This time GF and I left early for DFW because concert Friday night; got to Woodshed early Saturday as we had six diners driving north from Austin. A brunch drank consumed along with a tide over appetizer Pinched Buns. Typical of Asian restaurants the steamed buns were a perfect bite to tide us over. First time here HUGE wait. This visit not so much. Pay the extra $10 plus tip for some shade ala valet. The Pit Smoked Hummus was as good as the last visit. I apparently had the same dish as the previous visit. The Bulgogi Tacos are a wonderful "New BBQ" choice.Flavorful meat with a "quick kimchee" meaning it doesn't have to sit in a bucket for 6-12 months per the standard recipe. Corn tortillas were amazingly thin. All of our friends were impressed with entree selections. GF's ramen broth was dark and flavorful. Buddy's CFS impressed with the escabeche spin atop the cream gravy. One note; the digs 4 years later in the form of cheap window units providing AC to the dining room are a bit redneck. While I get it and I know this isn't fine dining spend a little cash Tim and revamp this concept.

We have been here multiple times but took a break, as quality had declined around Covid (even the brisket). We decided to give them another chance, and this time for lunch, and boy are we glad we did!Forgot to take a pic of the soft pretzel but it's one of the best I've ever had (this is saying something, as my husband gets them EVERYWHERE)! We split the chicken sandwich and the flat bread. Everything was good but the chicken was the start. Pretty sure that's the best friend chicken I've ever had, really well seasoned and perfect early crispy while also juicy!I ended up taking it off the bun, the piece of meat in that March was the length of my forearm... not an exaggeration! The flatbread was pretty good, flavors were great not I'm not a fan of cheddar on a pizza, not I get it when it's a bbq pizza. T, the bartender, was our server, and she was fantastic! If you'd had a so so experience in the last few years, consider giving them another shot!

We ate here on New Year's Eve and the food and service was amazing. Salmon tacos are delicious and the margaritas alone are a reason to return. Great atmosphere.

Not really impressed with this place. First while the location is great for the views it sucks for parking. Valet is an option for an added price. The inside is nice and the patio area is great. The food itself was not my favorite. I ordered the beef rib which I was super exited about but really disappointed. The meat while fairly tender it was dry and had zero flavor not even a good smoke flavor. My husband ordered pork ribs and brisket with a potato. Again both were tender but flavorless. The sauce was ok, but we arent really sauce people. I like for the sauce to be optional for my bbq not required for flavor.

Came with a group of 4. The ambiance was nice and I liked the water view I saw online. Based of google and Yelp ratings this seemed to be a solid choice and thought it would be a good place to come to with my friends. For the highlights of the experience here: the Nachos with Brisket were really good. My meal was the 1/2 pork rib slab and that was pretty good. The elote was also pretty good. However, the rest of my party didn't enjoy their food. The broccolini tasted off for some reason possibly freezer burned , couldn't taste lemon on it. Just burnt garlic. Also ordered was a burger. The bacon on there was all fatty and no flavor. The stuffed peppers dish was so tiny it was unbelievable. And the fried chicken sandwich also lacked flavor. while the Lamb brisket was tasty the beef brisket tasted unseasoned almost like it been boiled? Worst thing though the waitress also was really inattentive. She seemed to be having an off day. Based on this experience probably won't be back again.
