Umai Sushi

First time trying this place and could not be happier. If you love salmon try the Salmon Crown roll, the salmon is in place of where the rice would be. Super delicious! I also ordered the Tako sushi and the quality of octopus was very good. Great service as well as peaceful environment. Would absolutely come back.

What a great surprise! Was intending on going to another place (won't mention) and someone recommended Umai. Had never heard of it, and always looking for good sushi so decided why not.Small little place, but the quality was great!Grabbed a sashimi bento dinner so I could try several items, and also grabbed some Sake and Maguro Nigiri because I wanted to try those separate and was told the Salmon was really good. I should say that the sashimi bento came with 8 pieces which included Sake, Maguro, Toro and Hamachi.Did not disappoint! Salmon was velvety smooth and creamy (so were the other cuts)!! not the biggest pieces, but sufficient.Miso was good, house salad dressing is sesame oil based, and tasty.Tempura batter was light and crunchy, and the california hand roll was packed!As with any good sushi, you should expect to pay a decent price, but it's very worth it.

Tonight's to go order was sad. We usually go here to eat but we decided we wanted to just grab and go. I asked to skip the lettuce and sub for rice. Don't think the sub was given. It's the smallest saddest Poke bowl I've ever had. Order x3 and all were the same. At $14.50 each, won't be coming back for to go orders. I suppose tonight I was shrinkflated. Cali roll was packed with hot food we ordered too.

Really enjoyed my sombrero roll and tuna hand roll. Friendly service. Will be ordering from here again!

This review is strictly for to-go orders. I haven't had a chance to dine in yet. My smallest dog is too clingy and since he can't sit in the dining room with us, who knows when I'll be able to eat there lol. Onto the food itself! My husband enjoyed the generous bento box with California roll. The specialty rolls have a bit more going on than I could enjoy. Rainbow roll: 4/5 stars because there's cooked shrimp on itSalmon roll: 5/5 stars because it's perfect the way it is and the flavor of the fish comes throughTuna roll: 5/5 stars, just as consistent as the salmon rollSombrero roll: 4.25/5 because the sriracha is a bit overwhelming. If it were sriracha mayo to add a touch of butteriness that didn't compete with the fish, the fresh slices of deboned jalapeño slices on top could work well with the roll. Rocky Manhattan roll: 3.5/5 because many of these more specialty rolls have a little too much going on and the flavors get lost. It could do without the Cajun sauce IMO. Overall, solid!

Our favorite sushi restaurant, but only for take-out. The ambiance is okay (kinda dingy lighting) but the food and service are great! The sushi is almost always super fresh, delicious, and not ridiculously expensive. We usually order 4 rolls and share between the two of us, and it comes out to about $60. They package the to-go items very neatly, and already assembled (some places put the sauces on the side, and then you end up not knowing which sauce belongs to which roll, ha), so I appreciate it all being ready to eat! Parking is easy at Adriatica, and for takeout, there is usually street parking available near the front.

Danny took care of us. He was fantastic. The sushi here tasted really fresh and was the best I'd had in a long time. It was nice and quiet in there but we got there about an hour before closing on a Sunday. It is a little on the pricey side but it was totally worth it and I can't wait to go back. Great date night spot in terms of food and service.

Boy, is this place busy on a Saturday night. We made the mistake of not making reservations, which meant a bit of a wait as inside seating is limited. Restaurant does a lot of take out in addition to its busy sit down service. We were excited to sit and eat. Perhaps, the place was too busy as food took awhile, and was a bit sloppily made.Sushi rolls were standard, but not impressive. We ordered 2 poke bowls and paid extra $4 for the mix of tuna, salmon and yellowtail. Amount of fish was not that great, and 3 of my pieces of yellowtail had the silver skin still on it. Staff was aware, and I asked for a knife to cut it off myself. Overall, probably wouldn't go back with other options in the area. A shame since seems to be a family run business and everyone was really hustling and working hard.

Food was delicious, sunset roll is to die for.Service was good, staff are kind.Not a fancy establishment by any means but good sushi and Sapporo on draft make me one happy customer. Cheers

To go order was terrible, placed order ahead of time came in was told 7 mins...30 mins later I was still waiting asking for an update and told still working on two of the four items ordered.
