TrailBoss Burgers

This was our second choice due to Hookers being closed. Was it a viable option? Food-wise, yes. Price-wise, not so much. Service was good and food was good. Our server was attentive but not overbearing and our burgers and fries were very tasty. I would recommend the mushroom Swiss burger without hesitation. Prices were higher than at Hookers, but fries were included, so not too bad. The only complaint would be cleanliness. I understand the vintage appeal of the stockyards, but this place could definitely use a good cleaning. I felt like I needed to shower after we left there. The booth we sat in had torn seats, the plastic tablecloth was tattered and dirty, and the paint was peeling on the wood around the windows. Just felt icky.

Our server Alex was great . Nice Texas ambiance. Children's meal is large and great deal at $5.99. Son had cheeseburger, fries and drink included. My chicken tenders were disappointing. Ok for quick bite.

We waited 30-40 muntes for our food. Multiple people sat down and got their food right away. For some reason our burgers took forever. The manager said it was a normal wait time but that didn't explain why people that were just sitting down got their food. The staff reflects the management at this place. If he don't care the other staff don't care. Shake shack is a 3 minute walk and you get your food in less than 10 minutes. Don't waste your time at this place.

We were at the stockyards and were hungry. This restaurant was as good as any and we could get seated immediately. We were greeted right away. We got seated outside and could watch everyone walk by. We ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer which was the best part of the meal. They were not overly breaded and seasoned perfectly. We shared some mild buffalo wings. These were ok, we have had better. They could have been fried just a little bit longer for my taste. We also shared their world famous buffalo burger. We were definitely not impressed with this dish at all. The tots were crispy and seasoned well. But the burger was just blah. Overall it was a below average meal.

Buffalo burger is okay- wrangler burger is okay. Was looking forward to a memorable Texas Burger and definitely less than impressed. Have had better in chain restaurants. Definitely a tourist trap. Portions on sides are fine. My husband says he give his burger (wrangler) 8/10. Service was - BAD- 2/10. Had to ask waiter several times for mayo and ranch as he was too busy hanging out with the hostess to deliver what we asked for. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return.

Very cozy and authentic with the decor. Red plaid tablecloths and tin pan plates give that trail vibe. Served was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Food was on point! Cheese curds were a great combo of savory and spicy. Fresh patted burgers reminiscent of a cookout . Overall will definitely visit again.

Waited 30 minutes to get a table. Not a problem with that. There were several empty tables and we asked to sit closer to the entrance because we had a dog stroller but they told us it was reserved. Okay... sat us toward the back and took our order. And proceeded to wait. People sat down next to us and across from us and the table they didn't want to give us. They ordered and within minutes 10 minutes they got their food. We were waiting for 30 minutes! Then we asked the wait what was happening with our food. She said they were waiting on fries. Waited 5 more minutes and saw more food coming out to people who were seated after us. We decided to leave and complained to the manager. "That's a normal wait!" Then why were other people getting their food. He couldn't answer. What a waste of time! Walked over to Shake Shack and got our food in less than 10 minutes!

Delicious burgers! Cooked a perfect medium. Bison burger was juicy. Chicken fried steak sandwich was hot & crispy. Wings could have been spicier but just got extra sauce.

We tried this place to see what all the hype was about, and we were kind of disappointed. The food was expensive for what it was. I ordered the Guache burger and my wife ordered the hot wings, and my burger came out lukewarm, and the fries seemingly undercooked. The flavor was ok but for the amount I spent I expected much much better. This was probably one of our least favorite restaurant experiences in the stockyards. The service was good though, our waiter was friendly. The atmosphere was also ok, very Texas themed, but the bathrooms were absolutely horrid. I'd recommend finding a different spot to eat at if your visiting the stockyards

Got seated away, and we waited for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, we nobody even came to get our drink order. We were seated outside with workers just walking past us for 25 minutes straight, not a single one asking how we were doing or if we needed anything. We never even met our server.
