Today's Meal

The Rista Ridge mall food court is a great place for several Asian food choices in one location. I chose this place today because I saw they had Omurice. Fried rice with a cheese omelet on top. The egg was soft, supple, and super thin making it part of the dish and not just an egg on top. The shrimp fried rice was moist and flavorful with plenty of shrimp. The woman running the place was super nice and appreciative of our compliments. The mall ambiance should be described as authentic. The majority of the patrons are Asian and they know what they like. The portions are huge by the way so bring an appetite or bring a friend.

Easily the best chicken katsu I ever had in dfw! Super crispy and moist. Sauce was delicious and wait time was short. Absolutely recommend this place and will have to go back to try more menu items! The portion of the rice was small but the tonkatsu itself is huge! Super good and highly recommend.

Had the curry cheese omurice today. Very tasty meal with a tornado style omelette on top. The curry paired great with the egg, cheese, and chicken fried rice. Huge portions here and a good spot for a meal.

Decided to check out this food court inside Zion Market again and beelined to this place! People were raving about the jalapeño cream cutlet so we had to try it. When we ordered, they had this plexiglass to protect the workers. They gave us a buzzer to know when our order was ready. When we got our food, the plate was huge! Although there were only 4 pieces of cheese katsu, they gave quite a few sides including rice, cabbage salad, pickles macaroni salad and jalapeños. The jalapeño cream came separate so you could dip the katsu in it. I thought the katsu was going to be baked with it inside. It's not as crispy as I thought it would be but if you're in a pinch and can't make it to Carrollton, I'd say this satisfies any cheese katsu craving. I'll definitely be back to try out their other menu items. I'm thinking the omurice next!

I got the jalapeño cream cutlet and it was really good! The only spicy part is the sauce so you can have it on the side to dip if you're not sure about spiciness level. It's fried nicely and the cheese and meat went together so well. The macaroni salad was also tasty. The only thing is I wished there was more rice to balance the cutlet. But this is the first time I've ever seen this anywhere so it's nice they're bringing something different to try!My friend got the hamburger steak and that was also super good! It kinda looks like a Hawaiian loco mocco (which is more salty with gravy) but it was totally different! This place had a more tomato based sauce that is slightly sweet. So more like a Filipino spaghetti sauce you could say? Anyways, I like the hamburger steak here more than loco mocco's. It's good for ppl who preference Marinara sauce over brown gravy.

I've had the omurice and the cheese cutlet meal (which I split with hubs). Both were pretty good, neither was drive-across town great. But, I live close. I'd come here again if I were craving what they serve and didn't want to go too far. The portions are quite large. There are better places for cutlet farther out (not necessarily "Korean" but close enough, just better). This is the only omurice I've had, so I can't really compare to others, but I feel like it was probably isn't the absolute best since I've had better fried rice and I wasn't in love with the sauce it came with. If that's the same sauce everyone makes with omurice then maybe I'm just not all that into it. I'll round up since I can't really say for sure how it compares to others, but my real rating is about a 3.5

Tried Fish Katsu, Pork Katsu, and Udon - they were all fairly solid! Fair price for its portion. Their hit items like Cheese Katsu, Jalapeno Cream Katsu, and Hamburg Steak were sold out at the time I went; so, if you want to try those (Refer to picture from the owner), you should go earlier than 7!

I am surprised that I have not left a review for this restaurant yet. I come here quit often . It's almost a comfort food for me when I visit Zion market. Love the simple giant katsu with salad and macaroni. The sauce makes the fried katsu comfortable to eat and if you think it gets little too greasy you can eat the cabbage salad and rice to balance it. It's a comfort food for me that I am very familiar with when growing up in Korea. I recommend this restaurant if you want wholesome Korean katsu.

Tonkatsu is great. Love it. Had the hamburg but was actually a 'menchi katsu'. (Deep fried w breadcrumbs)Tasted good tho. Trying the omurice next time.

Big giant katsu. Good price for how big it is. Also comes with Mac salad, and coleslaw. Both were delicious
