Thee Southern Fish House

It's been hard to find a place in the Arlington area that serves actual fish and not some cod byproduct. I was excited to see TSF on Yelp. About 15 min from my house and worth the drive. The window clerk was very nice and helpful. The price was competitive. It gave me "fish fry at aunties house" kinda vibe.The wait was a bit long 20+ minutes, however, the fish was cooked perfectly and the shrimp were huge. The peach cobbler was a bit soggy but next time I'll try the other desserts. I paid $23 for the 2 piece fish, 4 piece shrimp combo with a peach cobbler.The only thing I'd say is the tartar sauce wasn't really hitting and the side of fries was a small portion. Fish was a bit salty but I'd give it another try.

This slightly hidden gem is worth the drive. It's food makes up for It's unassuming building, and ambiance. If you're looking for some good fried southern fish and shrimp, this is the place for you. Not only is the food good, but the prices won't disappoint. The portions are generous and cooked to order. There are a variety of sides to choose from. The greens and Mac N Cheese were very good. My catfish was crispy on the outside but moist and flaky on the inside. The Shrimp were fried just right not over or under cooked. I will definitely return.

I was on the other side of town so I decided to try something new. I had a taste for some catfish. I went on Yelp and found this small hole in the wall. These types of establishments have some of the best food. The reviews seemed good so I gave it a shot. Here is the good, bad and ugly! Service was GOOD! The staff was friendly and pleasant. They even brought my food out to my car. Ambiance small, but clean. Better for carry out than dining in. Food I ordered was catfish and fries: The fish was seasoned and hot. The fries were not cooked enough. I bit into several hard fries that needed to be in the grease a few minutes longer. I ordered 3 pieces and they were super tiny. I felt like I was eating catfish nuggets. I was not pleased with the quantity for the serving. I was still hungry after I ate. Overall it was a decent experience.

This place is too expensive for the small portions they give you plus the place isn't the same since they fired their best cook Fred!!!! Will not eat there again they keep the area dark if it wasn't for the gas station next door and the lights from on coming cars it's very scary!!!!! MY OPINION

My first time visiting and def won't be the last! It's hard to find "real" catfish and this is the REAL DEAL!! The catfish is cooked to perfection and not greasy, the fries are well cooked and the salad actually has a little dressing on it

Friendly customer service & a clean spot. The food was mediocre. Got the two catfish fillets w/ three sides. The most seasoned dish from my whole order were the green beans. The fish was fried perfectly, but lacked seasoning. Wish this business the best!

Tried this spot while near the area. So glad we decided to try a new place. Don't judge a book by its cover. The jewel is the food inside.We tried the fish. It was amazing! Very well seasoned. I did not even need the tarter sauce. I usually have to have tarter with my fish. I got the whole catfish, okra, and corn fritter. The catfish off the chain. The okra was ok I would propose more seasoning, corn fritters were crispy and delicious. Bae had the fish filet, and fries both well seasoned fried crispy and soft on the inside. This small spot has mighty punch. Well worth trying.

Couldn't decide what I wanted to grab to eat and decided fried fish. Found this gem Little small family owned business. Passed it many times and never noticed it. The family that owns it is so nice and inviting.The food is responsibly price and lots of options even more than seafood.The best part...... THE FOOD was delicious!!!! Finally REAL FRESH CATFISH!!! Seasoned to perfection. Definitely the go to for catfish cravings from here on out!!

The service wow chefs kiss for real. They treat you like family and even though the establishment itself doesn't look like much, it was such a vibe as soon as we walked in. The food was pretty average and average price (get the family to share) wow the sides were really solid; fantastic fries and solid mac and cheese. Tartar sauce was not my favorite but the hot sauce was yummy. We also got free daiquiris since we tipped and it was really delicious. Come here if you are looking for some home style cooking and to feel like family.

Old school southern fried catfish. Great food. Hard working lone employee (Ron) on a Saturday afternoon. Restaurant is old but has old school rural charm. Please give Ron a vacation soon.
