I used this venue for an engagement party on August 20, 2017. Shannon Leland was very nice and professional. In my contract I was charged $150.00 for a silver fountain to dispense lemonade. The fountain never worked and the lemonade was light colored water. Not to mention she put nacho cheese out of a can on our request for broccoli and cheese. I have called and left Shannon a message, emailed her, and sent her a certified letter. To this day, I have not heard from her. She has spoke with my event planner on several occasions and promised to call me so we could resolve this matter but hasn't. My contract total was over $4600.00 and I want her to refund me for services not rendered but she want even communicate. Bad business practice!

I recently had my wedding ceremony and reception here (Nov 6 2016). Shanon was very helpful and helped me threw the process. The staff was prompt and did as I asked. A lot of people think the owner of the venue is a coordinator and expect her to do everything but she is not. You have to let the workers no what you need and when, that is the customers job. How is she supposed to no when you want the food served unless you tell her lol. I just think people expect to much. She's not a coordinator, although she will help you as much add she can. She was super nice and helped me with all my questions. The cake cutter waited till I let her no I was ready for her. And they cleaned up afterwards. Price was fair and I had a great time with no stress. At the end they packed up all the extra food and sent it home with me as well. I would defiantly recommend this place.

I used their catering services in August of 2014, when I wanted to host a birthday dinner for my brother and his partner. From the very beginning, I always talked to Shannon, and she went out of her way to make sure that everything was prepared for the event. I am VERY HAPPY to say that Shannon, Lala and the entire staff exceeded ALL of our expectations!!! They paid attention to detail, and the menu was FANTASTIC!!!! I will definitely use them again for engagements in the future. These guys just got a frequent client!! WAY TO GO Shannon, Lala and staff!!! Congratulations on a job WELL DONE!!!! Because of you, the evening could not have gone better!!!!!

We had our wedding reception here in March 2014. We selected this venue because it was more reasonably priced than some other places locally, though still $20+ per attendant. Prior to the event the owner was nice, but sometimes difficult to get ahold of. Lots of phone tag. All decorations and setup of food went well, but the day of the ceremony wasnt great. The cake cutter we paid extra for was not present when we went to cut it, neither was the cake knife, so we stood awkwardly waiting while our friends and family stood around us. The cake topper we had special ordered was broken prior to the reception beginning, an honest mistake by the staff. The cake topper ended up being lost or thrown away by the staff and we did not get this keepsake back. Also, the owner left during the event which is fine, but she was our point of contact for the event and we didnt know the other staff she left behind. Servers for drink refills were very under dressed (baggy untailored slacks and a plaid shirt). At the end of the event all of the leftover food was not packaged to take home for our family who brought our things home after our departure for our honeymoon. After the event the owner became more difficult to get in touch with. Our decorations were picked up, but some of our artificial flowers were missing. We had to go back and ask about the additional flowers, which were being used as decorations for someone elses event. As a whole this venue was more affordable than a few other places, but the attitude of the owner was unacceptable. No effort to replace the cake topper they lost. We were told "if the cake topper was that important, you should have assigned someone to take it home for you." We certainly did not expect it to be broken and trashed, there was no plan for that. No apologies. We would not recommend this business.

I had my 50th birthday party here and the food was not that great, sandwiches were all bought from Sam's club, I think the only thing that was made by staff were the mash potatoes and they were not put in the glasses as I had anticipated, but I was charged over 2K for catering and $700 for Gratuity. The Bartender/Manager was rude to my guests when they were purchasing drinks and to me at the end of the event. She even yelled at me. My party was over at 1 am and at 1:06 am she got very unprofessional and wanted my family out which were the ones that was helping me get all of my personal belongings out. I did reach out to the owner Shannon and told her how I was treated as the bartender appeared to act as if she did not want to deal with African Americans. She was very defensive and not smiling at all as if she did not want to be there. Shannon did apologize to me and did advise me that the employee was let go due to being smart and unruly to them while trying to have a discussion about her attitude towards customers. Once events are over maybe there needs to be a clause to give people a certain amount of time to clear the crowd instead of being rude to customers after they have spent almost 4K to have a special event. Going forward, there should be a clause to give people at least 30 minutes to get everyone out of the building as I see this is a problem now that I am reading other reviews. The other staff members were great and Shannon was very helpful during the process. It was a bummer that a great and fun filled night ended up being messed up due to the unruly attitude of a worker.

I recently got married and had my wedding ceremony and reception here it was beautiful and the food was delicious my guest couldn't stop complimenting how perfect everything was! Shannon the owner was amazing answered all my questions and concerns and was with me every step of the way. The staff was very helpful and was so sweet I highly recommend if you have an event that this venue is a great choice beautiful and affordable. They made my special day so perfect couldn't thank them enough!

I rated this place 1 star because the only thing the owner, Shannon, got right was the fact that the building was available to have our event...everything else that involved her coordination, participation (and lack thereof) was a failure. At first, the pitch from her was "we will have several meetings to discuss linens, food, venue set-up, etc"...we met 3 times...the initial meeting, a food tasting (additional $) and a final 5 minute drop in to make a final payment. Her biggest push is her "catering business" which she states is what she mainly charges for. The food is much to be desired and tastes like purchased bulk food from Costco instead of top of the high quality "catered creations" she believes she is serving. My biggest issue was not even really the food (which is another story) but the fact that she does not keep her word (and has sudden bouts of amnesia.) She promised several things to us, and did not come through on any of them...a few examples:(1) VENUE SETUP - FAIL6:30 PM wedding, I arrived at 5:00 pm, no decorations set up. Had to assist decorators until 30 mins before our wedding. Linens were not set up - WRONG COLOR, AND NOT ENOUGH LINEN FOR THE TABLES...REALLY? These were all discussed with her in specific detail in person the 3 times we met as well as over the phone. The "chapel" (a sectioned off part of the ballroom) was not set up correctly, I had to help set up chairs and chapel with 30 minutes left until the ceremony. Where's Shannon you ask? 15 minutes before the ceremony, she sticks her head in the dressing room and says "I heard there was an issue with linen." WOW(2) PHOTOS - FAILOur 1st meeting Shannon shows me the venue and "chapel" area. I explain to her that (during the cocktail hour) I wanted to take some pics with my bridal party. She told me that she had a "secret exit" from the chapel side that we could use after the ceremony so that we wouldn't get overrun by family and friends wanting to take pics immediately. After 30 mins of looking for Shannon, she appears and I ask her show us the "secret exit" (which I thought was a glass door towards the far left of the venue). When I pointed at it she tells me that she never told me that and that "this door hasn't been opened in 8 yrs!" Turns out that there was a "secret exit" after all...a door at the back of the "chapel"...and it leads to...you guessed it!...AN ALLEYWAY ON THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING! Her additional suggestion to my bridal party was that someone hold the bottom of my dress as I walked through the alleyway because the ground outside was kind of dirty...REALLY?...unbelievable you say?...BELIEVE IT! I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. I was actually told in a phone conversation a few days afterward by Shannon "who leaves their wedding to take pictures anyway?"(3) FOOD - FAIL Shannon appears at 6:15 pm, and tells me there are 25 people more than original 50 guests. Some of my guests were only attending the ceremony and not the reception (this was discussed weeks before.) She offered me additional plates if needed. During dinner, I required 2 additional plates and Shannon (via phone thru her husband) refused to provide the plates & insisted that I pay for the plates before they were given to my guests. (2 plates @ $20). 30 mins & 2 phone conversations later between Shannon and my sister and my husband and Shannon's husband, I went into my dressing room, got my wallet, came out with the money, went to pay Shannon's husband and he says "don't worry about it" and sends out 2 plates. Unprofessional and lack remorse for their mistakes...avoid the headache and frustration and spend your money elsewhere...

Very disappointed that our wedding reception was cut short staff made us leave 4 hours early it was 8pm when the staff started cleaning and setting up for the next reservation. Our reception was suppose to be until midnight. Have four witnesses when owner said she would write it down till the time which was midnight. 5k on such disappointment even the staff knew the owner wasn't someone to be trusted. When told owner didn't even try to make an effort to fix her mistakes of course didn't even try to come her establishment to explain only on phone too busy worrying about herself and pocket when trying to decorate before the chapel she had a group of people making reservations didn't care that she was in the way of letting our dj setup and was too busy trying to make money. I'm the daughter of my paying parents and I and family feel this is a horrible run banquet hall staff were amazing management is trash
