Valentines Day was the perfect day to try something new, so as a part of my husband's gift I got us tickets to the Ruby Review at HOB Dallas. The show was awesome! There were women on ice skates to acrobatics hanging from the ceiling. They couldn't have picked a better host, because he brought comedy and sexiness to the show. The ladies were very classy and kept the audience on our feet. Visually, the costumes were immaculate! There were an abundance of acts that filled the entire time that we were promised. After the show we were invited to a 50's after party that was really cool.Overall it was a terrific show! I just wish that more people (the audience) would have dressed in dressy attire and got in character.

if at the House of Blues..do not go.No seating for Gen Admission anymore and tickets for seating are twice the cost of a top touring act.The Em Cee was dull and the show is boring.People said this is the best show... i doubt those claims

I love Ruby Review and it has always been a favorite of mine. Here tonight at the House of Blues the tickets say the show starts at 8pm. The ticket has always been right. Not tonight. The door opened at 8pm and they're saying the show starts at 9pm. AND they have removed the general admission seating that has always been available when they're in the smaller room. So we paid $65 for two tickets and $25 for two drinks (before tip) and left work early to make the 8pm start time. And I'm sitting on the floor because I didn't wear 'stand for 3 hours' shoes and I can't even pass the time talking to my boyfriend because he's a grown ass man who's taking a pass on sitting on the floor. It hurts my heart if this is when Ruby Review jumps the shark. I was so excited about tonight and after sitting on this cold, hard floor for 40 minutes (knowing I have at least 20 to go) I'm just pissed.

Me and some of my sorority siblings went to go check out the show last night and it was pretty great! They have some really unique acts that indeed were entirely unexpected (Breakdancers? OPERA SINGERS?!) that definitely made this show stand out among others I've seen in the past. I've seen people mention the number of tassles and the crassness of the emcee in this, and to be honest, I don't know what people were expecting. Sex jokes and breasts are a huge part of burlesque.I'm knocking a star because lovely as they all were, some of the emcee's jokes fell flat and there was essentially one stock bodytype in the whole show. I may be tainted as I watched Dem Damn Dames' "Lord of the Raaangs" twice on the weekend and it might have put my expectations in the wrong place.(Unrelated to the show, but there was a bartender pouring a drink he wouldn't name that was a delicious blend of pineapple, malibu, midori, and grenadine that a google search revealed Boozemixer calls it a "Lick My Pussy." Highly recommended.)

Hired Winston for a pin up style photo shoot complete with hair and make up. He set everything up. He made arrangements with Dallas Pin Up and it was such a fabulous experience. We went to two of their burlesque shows this weekend and we were blown away! If you want to get in touch with your beautiful self, get involved with these folks. They know how to do it upright!

Attended the Dallas Burlesque Festival and booked a pinup-style photo shoot with Winston. I've never worked with a better photographer!! He knows how to put you at ease and help you to really let go and enjoy he experience. Winston set up a stunning vintage makeover for us with LaDonna Stein at Dallas Pinup and I've NEVER felt more beautiful!! Wonderful people with wonderful hearts!

Following is the message that I sent to the Ruby Review contact portion of their website. Oh well they got their 50 bucks out of me and the bar got theirs too. I suppose they shouldn't really care. I do want to add though that the entertainers are talented and beautiful young ladies that obviously spend countless hours staying in shape and practicing their skills. Message: I would like to comment about the show. My wife and I have seen burlesque in Portland Oregon, and we enjoyed it quite well, so we were looking forward to checking out The Ruby Revue in our hometown of Houston. We went last night with a friend and we were all disappointed in the show (as a whole). I love the roots of burlesque and how it has given women the liberation and freedom that is enjoyed today, however I just cannot support the ghetto M.C.'s jabs at Christianity and her ignorant spewing of Spanish about Donald Trump. Burlesque classically involves some risqué humor and funny mockery and such; but to alienate specific groups of people that are paying customers at your show is bad business. There was another couple standing next to us that shared the same feelings. I believe she labeled it tasteless. I am obviously not just "uptight", I full and well knew what burlesque was when I bought the tickets; I just didn't know that she, (the M.C.) didn't. Stick to cute, sexual in nature, and flirtatious humor and you will do the right thing not only for your business but also for the women before you that made burlesque a classy, enjoyable show that empowered women and excited men and couples. Their carefully thought out reply:Greg, ------ FILL IN NAME HERE, LOL.Thanks for the feedback. We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed overall with your experience at our show in Houston. We appreciate your input.- Ginger

Would have probably been 5 stars but???? Checked in and was seated immediatelyStarted off well, Ordered a bottle of wine received it 20 min later. Way too long to want for wine. Then we ordered our meal. Our meal arrived steak was ok, au gratin potatoes and the Cream spinach was great!!!! Ordered an after dinner drink and bread pudding. After another long wait (20min) they arrived Drink was great. bread pudding was cold w the ice cream melted. I think the pudding would have been great if it wasn't sitting out somewhere cooling off. Ok who's the blame ???? Was the kitchen slow? Or the Waitress??? Who knows. We were there for 2hr 15 min. A little longer than usual. Now will we go back. Good question? Paying $$$ for dinner I expect better service yes I tipped 20% due to not know who was at fault. I will say the food was good just really slow.
