The Purple Goat

This local college town bar is very cute! Tons of purple (of course) and some blue for the local high school. Servers are def some local college/town adults. My friends ordered burgers (and one country fried steak) and I also should have ordered a burger. They had long cut pickles and some really good fries. They looked juicy and fresh and I totally envied them. My Mama's Mac and Cheese was very under whelming. Bland. Needed salt and pepper to make it slightly more enjoyable. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy. The sausage gravy was amazing and so was the first biscuit. My second biscuit was under cooked ): Next time I'll get a burger haha

This place has a really awesome vibe. The dog friendly enclosed "patio" area is really nice. We were driving through stephenville with our dogs and needed somewhere to stop for lunch. The two girls were working the bar and waiting tables AND busing tables. They kicked butt and took good care of us despite being really busy. I ordered a hazy magnolia beer and it was SO FLAT. My husband ordered a blue moon pint and it wound up being almost $9... which is wild to me. I ordered the bbsalad which included 4 smaller wings and a large salad with blue cheese and bacon. It was a decent portion size for $16.50 but still a couple dollars over priced in my opinion. My husband got a sliced brisket sandwich which was super dry. So food and pricing... eh... vibes and service... awesome.

Cool place, I bet the night time crowd is fun. I had the Goat Burger for lunch added jalepenos, little messy but I enjoyed it.

Food was meh. I had the dove tenders and they were good. Grilled veggies were very greasy. Fried pickles and onion rings had good flavor and were crispy. Husband ordered chicken fried chicken and got chicken fried steak instead but we didn't have time to get it fixed. An appetizer was forgotten. Took at least 20 minutes to get drinks ordered. Honestly, didn't feel too great afterwards.... The place is cool and is able to sit large parties. Maybe look into your grease... we had some issues afterwards and from the feedback from the staff when we asked what was recommended, we're kinda thinking that might be the issue. Idk.

We love going here! The food was great, the service was good and we got to bring our dogs! Fun place to hang out, let the kids run around and have an ice cold beer!

First time here. Place is really cool as far as set up. Indoor out door. Best "ambiance" I've seen in Stephenville, which ain't saying much, so kuddos! Lots of draft beer, liquor and frozen drinks. Out door area I could imagine would be really nice in fall or winter as it's covered and has 4 propane fire pits under roof with swing down doors. I love the concept and can see what they are trying todo here. We started with Goat balls, they were ok, they were not cooked properly, still coldish in the middle and not that impressive over all. BBQ sauce on them were different but pleasant, ranch dressing was on point. Our waiter was very uniformed on the menu, prep of food, sauces, choices, drinks prices and drink selections. Nice but basically clueless. Draft beer and cider was almost warm or cool but not cold, so that wasn't great. Inside building was cool not cold. Could be colder but has high ceilings. Salads are over priced and I wouldn't call this a "cob salad" as it lacked many components that cob salads should have. I had the catfish and I was pleasantly surprised that it was nicely done , crispy, hot, fresh, good portion and had a nice corn meal coating. Fries were good with a crispy flour coat. Cajun slaw appeared to be a little old but had decent flavor but bad color. Hush puppies were good but only got 2 small pups. Over all the fried catfish was really solid and I'm picky about fried catfish. We had a nice experience overall. I really like the vibe. I don't know why, but I would be interested to see how they handle a big crowd bc this place is big with many seats and staff seem not all too prepared in general. Could be wrong about that assumption. We came on a Sunday late evening and they seemed a little lackadaisical. I'll come back bc I like the vibe and food and was better than most in Stephenville.

Nice place to hang out and relax. Have some fun, play some pool or air hockey, hang out around a fire pit, tell jokes have a drink. And when you get hungry I recommend the Goat Balls along with a tasty burger and a beer. We had the privilege to meet the owner. What a very nice man. He is a great people person. Definitely will be visiting every time we are in town.

Had a great brunch at the Purple Goat today. My Aunt and uncle from Granbury and Aunt from Burnet joined my parents and my little family for a much needed get together. Was nice to see everyone and enjoy their company Inna warm, and toasty place. Most everyone had breakfast items and I heard zero complaints. My Chicken and waffles was great and my girlfriend loved her loaded potato. Awesome and ultra friendly staff and excellent service! This is a great place for singles to large groups! Yum!

Amazing food and get staff!!! The smothered fries is something I will order tenfold. The goat balls...fugetboutit! Pure Cadillac!!! We went during the day but I think at night this place is gas!!!

Service was good but it took a minute for drinks. It was My daughter, her 2 sons (2 & 3) and myself. My bill was $82 for LUNCH. Took way longer to pay the bill. Was extremely anxious because the boys started acting up. Still going to email corporate. Proof of price in the picture. Do NOT think food was worth the prices. ESPECIALLY
