There is not a Diner, Drive-In or Dive that I don't try to visit...and The Original Chop House Burgers was no exception. We were in Dallas for a long weekend and this happened to be on our way back from Ft. Worth and the Stockyards. My uncle and aunt hadn't heard of it...and we almost drive by, as it was hard to recognize in the strip mall, with the Mahogany name on the front. But, once we walked in, we were instantly welcomed! We had the BEST time here! The food is delicious and the people are super friendly and helpful. We were starving, so we started out with some fried pickles and beer...while we waited for our entrees. I guess I didn't take enough pictures of the rest of our food, but it was all so good! The fried rice was delicious...full of flavor and piping hot!The Texican Burger is what I ordered...it was the perfect side, cooked to perfection and it was packed with flavor! We LOVED this place!

What a disappointment. When to the next location I guess of the Chop House and it was sooo awful. We walked in wasn't sure if they were open. It was dark and smelled dirty, the floors were filthy and sticky. Finally a waitress came out to ask us to pick a seat. Then brings us water but doesn't ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Then we order and it takes a little while but no biggies because it must be fresh right? I ordered the "chorizo burger" I'm using quotations because it was nothing like the description. First of all there was a mountain of what I'm guessing Parmesan cheese from a shaker for sure on top of the burger (I think they tried to pass it for queso fresco but sorry I'm Mexican and I know the difference) then there was absolutely no sign of chorizo in or on or ever around this burger. No fried egg and the smaller amount of pico. To top it all off my burger was cold like they put it in the fridge while we waited. Crazy wierd right? My onion rings were undercooked in the center, fried pickles weirdly didn't taste like pickles my family made a game out of it. The only thing that WAS good was the fried jalapeño.I think it's crazy that I read so many reviews praising this place for such a ridiculous meal. Then our waitress who never checked on us and I tired to ask for help or tell her my order was clearly wrong but she wasn't interested until she dropped the check and then she can by the table 7 times to look for the card without a word. Weird how she was suddenly free to check for the card but not interested in the service or food part. Weird will never be coming back and I suggest you don't waste your time either.

My husband and I were in the area, and we always try to find new burger spots to try. I found this place on yelp. We got here and the name was changed to Mahogany I believe however they have the same menu as the previous owner. Anyway the food was delicious, the burger wasn't as hot as I'd like but it was good. I loved the onion rings and fries. I would return

Service is terrible. Ordered takeout and paid online. Arrived and gave my name and specific ordered items to the person up front. "We don't have that order". '? Do you mean, it's not ready?' "No, we don't have that order." 'Ok... so how do i get my money back?' Useless walks into the back without comment. Returns with"Oh it printed back there." 'good, how long are we looking at?' "He's making it now" 'ok, how long are we looking at?' "I don't know, he's making it now.". So staff doesn't know how the order system works, cook times, nor how to be helpful or friendly. What am i tipping for again? Dining room was hot. Chicken was dry. Bun was soggy. They were out of one side dish i had ordered. (Didn't bother to ask if i wanted a sub, of course). Bbq beans were pretty tasty.

10/10! We stopped by the Mahogany Chop House in Arlington because we saw that it had been featured on the food network as a hidden gem and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent. The burgers were Smokey and ever so tasty. The brisket Mac and cheese was also outstanding. We got great service from Joe and everything came out quick and hot. It was so good, we even got some extra food to go. If you are looking for a great burger in Arlington, look no further! I also have to say that the onion rings were top notch. My grandmother who is a tough critic said it was "awesome" although we live in Dallas we plan on coming back to try more of the menu .

My husband is a fan of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and was happy that he found a location to try in our town - The Original Chop House Burger. We went in with anticipation for lunch but left a bit disappointed. It wasn't terrible but was "meh" at best. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich special ($7) and in the description on their whiteboard, it said it came with mustard potato salad (which they were out of) and I was immediately bummed about that. They offer a very limited amount of other sides to choose from, nothing exciting, and I chose the chips and salsa. My husband ordered a chop house burger ($10.75) and fries ($3.50). The burger was average and the fries, were also average. They were thick, natural fries - not my favorite but my husband thought they were "ok." It is a large location with plenty of seating. It was very clean and the service friendly - but the food was nothing special.

Yeah just don't go. 7pm on a weekday and it's turned into a club with 3-4 people and a dj, not really what you would expect from a burger joint / restaurant. The burger was burned black on one side, and half cooked on the other.I couldn't eat the burger or tater tots which tasted like plastic bag. Saw the cook getting into a disagreement with the staff, should have just walked out thenSeems like a place you would see on Bar Rescue, before the rescue.

We arrived at about 5:15 pm on a Saturday. There was one table seated. We waited at the counter for several minutes before someone came out from the back to tell us to sit wherever. We ordered , and were told they were out of French fries, so we ordered tater tots instead. No big deal. Our burgers came out, and there was no tomato on them. I asked if tomato came on my and my companions meal. The sever went to back m, talking loud enough for us to hear, that now we want tomatoes. She then came out saying they were out of tomatoes . Disappointing again, but ok. When we asked for more ranch (they brought one small condiment size with the meal for our three shared sides) the server made a face and went to the back. The cook (?) came out from the back, placed another thing of ranch on the table and said that's all the ranch and there was no more. I said something like, wow, yall are out of everything,We were then told we can just leave and go somewhere with tomatoes if we'd rather. I said ok and we got up and left. The cook or whoever said "that's the way you handle the customer" to the server as we were walking out on what would've been a $50 tab. Another customer was walking in as we were leaving, and the cook (?) told him they were closed, despite it being 2.5 earlier than the sign. Anyway- another restaurant that will close down because the servers and cook don't have what they need, but they do both have shitty attitudes.

To The Good Citizens Of Arlington -Chop House Burgers at Fielder Rd and West Park Row in Arlington has the best hamburger in town.It probably has a better burger than almost all of the burger joint competitors in the Fort Worth Star Telegram annual competition. Before I go on about this perhaps a little credentialing on my part is warranted.I'm a 4th generation native of the Metroplex and a native of Arlington.I know the restaurants here and started working in Food and Beverage / Hospitality when I was 15.Kenny Mills, the first owner, and I went to high school at the same time, Sam Houston and Lamar. I was employed by a number of Arlington eateries early on then, SRO Bar on McKinney Ave. and on to Master Chef Gaspar Stantic's, New American Cuisine in Coppell (Zagat Survey, highest ranking restaurant in DFW) then the location in Highland Park, Dallas. In Between all that I worked for the Ramada Inn, Holiday Inn, the Wyndham Hotel, the Hyatt, the Hilton and the Marriott Hotels. In the above places I waited tables, bartended and was the Maitre d.A hamburger is a funny thing. There's many ways to put meat and bread, vegetables and condiments together. But the way restaurant people put together a hamburger, the one's that care about the culinary experience of this meal start with good beef, form a patty loosely so that it is easy to eat, flavorful and juicy.A good hamburger ought to drip its juice on the french fries to give them more flavor as you eat them. That's is how Joe does it !Joe the owner of Chop House Burger seasons the patty's then cooks them in a similar way a cast iron skillet would creating a flavorful crust on the meat. You know, like your grandmother used to do it.Ever go to a hamburger joint owned by a Chinese fellow who's so tight with his gas bill that he doesn't turn the fire up hot enough to get a sear on the meat ? Yuck !The Chop House Burger itself, at the top of the menu, has small chopped pieces of BBQ in the patty. There's plenty of flavor yet two different textures.I recommend the regular hamburger or regular cheese-burger.No one in town and beyond go to the successful effort Joe does to create the really good flavor and texture profile of the Chop House Burger regular hamburger.Joe will play any type of music you like. There's plenty of room inside. They are in a safe neighborhood and just across the street from Ace Hardware. They have great french fries and great onion rings. They're open for lunch and dinner and they have a bar ! Go there and Enjoy ! and you will find that Joe is as much a natural in the Hamburger Business as Jimmy at David's is to the BBQ Business.Happy Holidays to Arlington !Sincerely, Patrick Kelly www.ThePostOaks.org
