No longer at this venue, this theater company is a national company with troupes in over 30 major U.S. cities. They are the 3rd largest theater company in existence, only behind Broadway and Cirque de Soleil. Due to Covid, the Dallas troupe is not performing at their public venue currently. However The Murder Mystery Co. Is still booking for live fully immersive private, as well as, corporate event, shows. These well trained, passionate actors look forward to bringing a little fun and murder into your life while abiding by covid 19 restrictions and upholding the highest level of cleaning and safety standards. They also are bringing live, online, interactive mysteries into your home via Zoom.

The Murder Mystery Company... dinner and show. My favorite part of this experience was being able to go around and interact with everyone in the room. The food was okay, I had chicken. The show was okay, it really depended on how the audience actors responded, some were good and others were bad and did not go by the script. Probably not the best idea to have audiences be a possible suspect. The entire experience is heavily based on how involved your table is. If your table does not dig the show, well you are on your own. Saying that, I had fun they just need a couple of improvements to make the show great.

Great actors, really good food (excellent wait staff BTW) and we figured out the perpetrator!Little more crowded than i would have liked but all in all, great value with the Groupon. You could participate as much or as little. The lines are corny and it is entertaining. If you have never done it, you really should. Kinda like Medieval Times. You have to do it at least once.

GUEST: We got a good deal on tickets and had another couple come along so we at least knew one other couple at the table who was willing to play along with the storyline. The other guests at our table that we were randomly seated with were not interested in taking part of the experience, so it was a bit frustrating. CLUES + ACTORS: Our particular table was not informed to read the binder and other items set out on the table before starting so that we knew what role we needed to play as a table, so we we're a little lost and confused for the first 20mins. Although they want you to get up and gather clues by speaking with other guests and actors, they still give out all of the clues to the entire audience that you should have collected, which can be very helpful when you are stuck with a table that is not participating and helping to collect clues. However, I feel the clues given out were very rushed, it was difficult to keep up. Or, the audience actors did not fully participate or did not read the scrip so. Our script told us specifically what to ask of a particular audience actor and when we asked, they had no clue what to answer and we did get a clue out of them. FOOD: The food was subpar. Although they ask you to submit your food options, leading you to believe you'd be served a plated meal, it is actually served buffet style. They ask you to get up and collect clues then immediately begin sending tables through the buffet line. So, really, no one wants to gather clues, because everyone would rather eat. We still had a good date night and liked getting dressed up for the theme, so I rated appropriately. I thing if you participate and your table participate, you will have a great time. But, had we paid full price for our tickets, I would have been pretty upset about the entire experience.

Nice establishment, staff was engaging and Murder Mystery was a lot of fun. Food was delicious, but 3 stars because we paid $60 PP for a three course meal and dint have the opportunity to eat them. Salad was waiting upon arrival, then main course and dessert was set up buffet style. People at our table had barely touched their food when they called for the "Question the Suspect" opportunity where you and your team are encouraged to get up and walk around asking suspects questions. While we were walking around asking questions, they bussed our table and took all our plates full of food.

Can I give zero stars? This was so cringeworthy! 1. The clues- They mean nothing! Our binder had nothing to do with the mystery. You were supposed to walk around and talk to people. Then they had everyone sit down and gave out the answers BEFORE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GUESS. #what There were so many random elements that had nothing to do with the show. 2. "Actors"- No. horrible. I'm not sure how they make money. They aren't remotely convincing. Some of the people in the audience didn't follow the script or were terrible.3. Food- if they made the food themselves, at least the company is consistent. Buffet style food and was about as good as a cafeteria. No water or tea. We had to go find it.4. Overall it was a train wreck.

I bought tickets to Happily Never After at The Drey Hotel in The Village (Dallas) on Valentine's night and I can't help but wonder if they used this place's name at the end of the show but it wasn't actually The Murder Mystery Company. For $100 a ticket I really expected it to be less local drama club practice with friends and more professional, suspenseful/realistic, and rehearsed. First of all, the event actors were arriving with their sort-of set up after we were seated. The props and outfits seemed obviously put together at the last minute-NOTHING like what the internet shows. Like, did they reach out to the local drama club and scream "PLEASE COME WE NEED YOU, WE'LL EXPLAIN WHEN YOU GET HERE!!!" It was truly chaotic in my opinion. I spent as much time imagining how the event itself could've unraveled like this as I did trying to figure out who was going to "die" and who the "murderer" would be. One warning I have for those who have never been- they expect actual audience participation! Like, some of us had to get up in front of everyone and ad lib from a sort of/not really script in a binder. I'm very much an introvert and I fully prepared myself to be "around" people for my extrovert husband for the event. But, the "bride" approached our table as we were eating and waiting for the show with a binder and very quickly congratulated me on being her 80 yr old mother for the remainder of the evening! I really didn't enjoy that stuff and I just wanted to watch the "show". I wish they would've coordinated in advance- even if it were as people walk in the door- "do you want to participate? no? ok, cool, enjoy the show " then ask the next person. Not everyone wants to become part of the show, stand up in front of a crowd, and pretend to be a murder suspect. Her first question was "Has no one come to talk to your table yet??" and I felt obligated to just help her. The venue itself was amazing. I hope they get life figured out but I can't recommend this place. One of the actors played a couple different roles even, and had a piece of paper in his pocket he pulled out for his queue (or next line?) from time to time. Nice people I'm sure, but the show itself was disappointing.

I highly disagree with any of the negative reviews. Last night was my first time attending this event and my party and myself had a blast. The food was the best part of the evening to me. The food service was impeccable. The show was awesome. Everyone attending got to be apart of it and the actors really made entertaining. Please don't allow someone's negative review of this event prevent you from having an amazing night. I can't wait to attend again.
