The pots I made turned out awesome!
Here are the two bowls that I made with my very first pottery lesson! How fun! This is them wet; still need to glaze/fire them.
Making from scratch the bowl. He is very hands on and keeps it safe even in covid times.

Tucked away in west Fort Worth, this place is such a hidden gem! Quite literally! The house is protected by the historic Fort Worth society. It is a former actual working firehouse! they have a private parking lot.The owner and his wife have run the gallery for several years, and the gallery has been here for at least 15+ years. They are open to the public, sell their own pottery, as well as items from other local artists.Keith, the owner, gave me a tour of the facilities. He was friendly, and outgoing. He told me about the lessons that he taught here. He mentioned you can also have private lessons for one, or private lessons for couples. You have the opportunity to come play "Ghost" with your loved ones!5 stars for being unique, and a fascinating way to #ShopLocal!

Absolutely amazing experience!I called Keith on a Thursday asking for a pottery wheel lesson for my wife and I and he said he doesn't normally do lessons on Fridays, but would be happy to accommodate for us. We came in the afternoon and he and Courtney sat us down and gave us an in depth lesson on the wheel and helped us create 2 pieces each. They were both very patient and encouraging and made our first pottery making experience unforgettable. I highly highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for a fun experience doing something out of the ordinary!

This is a great date opportunity. If you end up getting four pieces which is two each to make paint and take home. Our teacher and us all wore mask during the covid and there is even a nice little coffee shop right out side. Loved all of this.

We had a great time making mugs as an anniversary present for the "pottery anniversary." Both my husband and I found the whole process to be super relaxing and fun. Keith is a great instructor who makes sure you go home with a piece of pottery you actually like by gently stopping you from messing it up! I am absolutely IN LOVE with our little mugs and so grateful for the experience. We will cherish this little anniversary gift forever.

Keith was very nice, instructive, and accommodating! I purchased the date night couple private lessons (two 1 hour lessons) and when the times on his online scheduler didn't work for me, I called and he graciously squeezed me in. My boyfriend, who has been to several pottery places, said Keith was especially specific and detailed in his instruction, which provided us with an excellent learning experience. He was patient with both of us and spent the time to explain the mechanics of what was happening, instead of just telling us what to do. We each got the chance to make two pieces of our choice. I'm looking forward to coming back in a few weeks to glaze my piece! Definitely recommend for all ages! Thank you Keith for giving us a wonderful anniversary date.

Some people call what happens at The Firehouse "renegade art". I call it mind expanding, thought provoking, social inspiration. Forgive me if this sounds cliche, but this gallery has opened up new worlds for me. Where else in Fort Worth would a simple girl with no connections like myself get to met and converse with artists, poets, social activists, yogis, and even Kinky Friedman (I had a real conversation with Kinky, not just a handshake). Lori and her crew not only bring art and new thought to our community, they bring it alive. I am today and forever deeply grateful for the work that is done and displayed here. I love this place! I bought a groupon for a pottery class, and it was totally fun! Keith is a great teacher, and I got to make two beautiful bowls. (I'm uploading a pic so that you can see them at stage one--pre-first firing. I haven't glazed them yet, but will add those photos when they are available.) It was really cool to make the bowls--this was the first time I've used a pottery wheel--and I'm looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks to glaze them. If you're looking to take a pottery class, try out Firehouse!
