The British Emporium

This is such a lovely shop! I stumbled upon it during a recent visit to Grapevine and I am so happy I found it. The shop is full of all kinds of treats, gifts, and staples that I have not been able to find anywhere else. I was able to stock up on items that I haven't had in years and have been missing desperately. Service is wonderful and I could easily spend more than an hour in here browsing the shelves. I just wish it were closer to home, but I think it is well worth the drive.

Need a little trip over the pond but can't afford the airfare? Come check this place out. Best place to get your treats for tea time and maybe a proper English meal or two. Lots of variety to choose from and reasonably priced.

Are you a homesick Brit looking for a taste of some childhood comfort food? Looking for Marmite? Craving Wilkinson's jams? Absolutely must have some pork sausages or Cornish pasties? The prices are dear but there are numerous delights from books to tea cosies to Yorkshire Gold Tea to entice you. Think we spent about $200 on indulgences. There were things in there I'd totally forgotten about. Lots of gluten free items including mincemeat pies, Walker's Scottish shortbread, fruit cake, and more! Will definitely be going back!

Such a fun store! Full of so many delicious items I could find elsewhere for our friend visiting from Britain.

This is a cute British specialty shop connected to Fish & Fizz with all manner of treats from across the pond. Saw everything in here from Paddington bears, to all manner of teas (Earl Gray, etc) and digestifs. Surprisingly well-stocked for a store with a small imprint, good place for harder to find English items.

A fabulous shop this is. So many UK delightful delicacies and gifts to choose from. Every few months, I go in with stocking up my pantry of HP Sauce, Crosse & Blackwell Mint Sauce, Wilken & Sons Lemon Curd, Bird's Custard, and, Walker's Worcestershire Potato Chips in mind. Coming out though I have found myself adding Cadbury Chocolates, locally baked Scones, Crumpets, and, English teas. Yes, a few of the items mentioned can be bought elsewhere, yet much more satisfying it is to support this family business and really fun it is to have those ah-ha moments of new or from precious childhood memories' discoveries while shopping here in person!CHEERS!

Such a cute little shop! Reminds me of my time over in the UK. They have a great collection of British staples, from teas to jammie dodgers and meat pies. I had a lot of fun exploring the store and reminiscing--definitely couldn't leave without a big ole box of PG Tips, a heaping basket of sweets, and a jug of my blackcurrant Ribena.

When The British Emporium came up on Yelp as a "local flavor" option, I could not help but be interested by all of the snack pictures provided by other Yelpers (y'all the real MVPs!). Since we also do not have a shop like this back home (Hawaii for me), I figured if I had the time that I would make the trip down. Fast forward to our last day/night in Dallas and I realized that I did not have any omiyage (souvenirs or gifts for loved ones) for my in-laws, I rushed on down in a Lyft before meeting up with my husband for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by this cute little shop. I truly do not think pictures do The British Emporium justice because the exterior is quite unassuming (located in a mini strip mall in Grapevine) but once you open the doors and enter the shop, it is almost like you are transported to a quaint little shop in the U.K. I will say that this store is definitely not one for people who are claustrophobic or OCD due to how the interior is arranged and the amount of items but if you take the time to look around and see what they have, you will be pleasantly surprised. Since I did not really have anything particular in mind, I did exactly that.The British Emporium has a good variety of items that range from memorabilia of the Royal Family (mostly focusing on the Queen, may she RIP) to pop culture items involving Doctor Who and Harry Potter. There are also loads of UK snacks, teas, and other foods items, as well as small little knick knacks here and there involving corgis and cats (or other animals commonly associated with the UK). I settled in on grabbing some tea cookies, cocoa related items, and a load of Harry Potter candies as well as Cadbury items. I am pretty sure I picked up just about every little candy or sweet I could find in the back left corner of the store (you'll see what I mean when you visit because there's just loads of things!). By the time I was ready to check-out, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I did not have to sacrifice one of my cats to pay for the purchase but it was still pretty pricy (understandable given the export and shipping and handling costs). The woman who had assisted me with check-out was also sweet and nicely packed all my items into two large bags for me to carry out. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting The British Emporium if you happen to be interested or looking for items that primarily can only be found in the UK (or Amazon.com lol). The selection of goods here are immense and they had a lot of items that I had never seen before (Guinness chips?!). The family that owns this store also happen to have a lot of community events, so check in with them on Instagram or in-person to see what they have planned next.

Previous reviewers have said it perfectly - this is an Anglophile's dream. Packed full of British sweets, biscuits, condiments, jams, chocolates, teas, gifts, and so much more. I came looking for a couple of specific items for family and friends - and I found everything I was looking for! I am truly impressed.

Enormous selection of authentic and hard to find British products. Friendly service and reasonable prices, considering these are often very hard to find imports. This is as good as it gets if you miss British goods.
