Texas General Store

Essentially the Texas General Store is a Texas souvenir shop. They have about anything Texas you want. Shirts, hats, golf balls, socks, ornaments, you name it, it's a big selection. Prices vary, most of the sale items are a good value but their regular prices seem a bit high, but so goes the way with souvenirs usually. Service was ok, nothing to complain about at all!

Lots of Texas themed souvenirs, including foodstuffs (I got some mesquite bbq seasoned pecans). They also have a smashed penny machine! Conveniently located in a historic building along Grapevine's downtown main street.

Service was horrible from what appears to be the manager or owner of the store. We were out celebrating my two youngest daughters birthdays and mine as well. We we're staying at the Gaylord's Resort and decided to venture out and explore Main Street. We came upon this store and had already chosen items we had wanted to buy. When we asked the sale lady at the register a question about an item the lighters they had in the counter. What then appeared to either be the manager or owner came into the conversation with a very disrespectful way to answer our question. Then she takes it upon to hover over my 13 year old daughter whose birthday we we're celebrating and her friend as they were looking at the toys in the kids section. I was 5 feet away watching them and yet she still took it upon herself to stay in the small section of the store and just hover over my daughter and her friend while they were trying to figure out what they wanted. I was there the entire time watching as she started make the girls uncomfortable so I called them over to me and told my wife to forget about buying anything from this store. So we left and walked out without purchasing anything from this place. Apparently they this owner don't like kids with parents to be shopping there.From the looks of it there have been a couple of others that I've experienced such distasteful experience. Yea she did put a little damper on our day on Main Street and we will definitely not be back at this store.

GREAT QUALITY SOUVENIRS! Affordable but not cheap, the General Store is the perfect place to take Texan Newcomers. And they don't just have Texas Items, there is a wine glass section and other funny items that make for great gifts. Highly recommend!!

Yikes. Everything was great up until I had to speak to the two ladies up front. The customer service is LACKING. It's a real shame because they sell some nice things and the store could be great.

Spent the day in Grapevine with a friend and our children. Downtown was our last stop of the day and we were excited to take a look around. We walked in to check out this store and either apparently the associate (maybe owner) doesn't like children, or I guess doesn't like customers spending money. My friend was so uncomfortable she walked out of the store with her children and sat on a bench outside. Yes, the kids were excited but they were not throwing things on the ground or throwing fits. I could possibly expect this behavior from a high end boutique but a store that carries spices, rocks and scorpion suckers? I was confused by the RBF & off putting looks that were given our entire visit. In case you were wondering who the employee was, an older blonde woman who just generally seems very unhappy. A word of advice from someone who worked retail for many years: the way you treat customers matters, especially now when most small businesses need every dollar they can get.

It's nice to stop by and take a look around. It will make you giggle, smirk, and say 'what!!!'? Don't be afraid, come inside. You don't know what would you might bring home as a souvenir or a decor to your home. You'll get to know Texas people better...or worst. Having a sense of humor is a must too.

Oh my gosh!!! What a fun store. Jessica is awesome and totally helpful. Found some awesome spice kits put together for Christmas presents. Fantastic selection of local artisan wares. And they have a place to squish pennies. Wish we'd had more than just an hour to spend in Grapevine Texas, because this cute little store had so much more too see.

A general store that includes gift items, souvenirs, and food, but the clothing on the back had great sale items. The uniquely Texas souvenirs gave Hubby and I a chuckle.
