Ok... First let's start with location. Something not being in the best of neighborhood doesn't deter me since that's where much of the best food is, but wanted to cover this. It's a primary Hispanic neighborhood, where you pass several abandoned buildings to arrive to and it is in the older part of Poly (those not familiar, it's generally not a great neighborhood), but for those not scared off yet, let's carry on with the review.I wanted tacos and hadn't been here yet, so wanted to check out out and glad that I did. I ordered 4 tacos and I'm pretty well full. All of the meat was flavorful and the food was def hot. Even the chicken tasted very seasoned, which is the meat many don't do much with, hence it being a good one to get to see actual overall quality. They loaded the tacos with quite a bit of meat, cilantro, and onions, so not bad for $11 after tax. I just wish they had desserts, but alas my sweet tooth with have to wait. They gave 2 hot sauces (green and a red). Flavor wise, the green was hands down so much better, but the red had a bit more kick to it... Not really spicy to me, but my nose did run a little, so must have been spicier than it seemed. Also for a Taqueria in a prominent Hispanic neighborhood, the lady that took my order spoke pretty good English, which kinda surprised me, but took away the language barrier I deal with so often (I love street tacos... It goes with the territory lol)

When we walked in we were greeted quickly and we're lead to a place to sit. The inside is cozy and clean. We had the complimentary chips and salsa which were warm and yummy. I got al pastor tacos, a pollo taco which came with a side of Spanish rice and refried beans. They also have topo Chico which paired well with our meal. This meal was plenty for me and I had some leftovers. The prices were affordable, our waitress was quick with our order and to bring out the food. The bathroom was simple and clean. There is a beautiful mural outside of the restaurant. This restauraunt is located in a rough looking neighborhood which contributed to this experience being uncomfortable. I won't be back but if you are in the area and don't mind the scenery, check them out.

I tried this place today based off of some of the reviews. I hate to say I wasn't impressed at all. We ordered carry out for lunch, there weren't any patrons in the place when we showed up. The place has your typical Mexican decor, really colorful and cozy, but empty. That's usually a red flag for me. As for my order, I wanted to try different types of taco filling, so I went with pastor, asada and carnitas. None of the meat was fresh, as in cooked this morning, I felt. The portions were huge, but that was the only plus on this little place. The carnitas had that hue that meat will get when it is reheated. It had the flavor and overly dry texture too. The asada was marinated in something, possibly beer, but whatever it was, it overwhelmed the beef flavor to nonexistent. Not for me. The pastor was okay, nothing great. The salsas, green was pretty good, but the red was odd tasting. It had a very tomatoey flavor, I didn't care for it. The worst part for me was that nothing was HOT. It was all warm. My drive back to the office was 11 minutes, and it wasn't even remotely hot by that time. I've ordered takeout from other establishments and they are always decently hot when I get to my office. I don't know, this was a miss for me. I also ordered the tamarind water, and my first sip was AMAZING. Unfortunately, the aftertaste was strongly of what seemed like bleach. I really was hoping this would be better based off of the reviews, but it is not likely I will return. Now I have uneaten tacos and a FULL tamarind water. And they clearly state on their chalkboard signage they will not take food back, you get what you get! That's a very bold policy for a place that completely missed the mark for me. Seriously, hoping I don't become ill, food safety isn't a priority here it seems. .

Worst Mexican food I've had in the DFW. Place is predominantly Hispanic so this was really odd getting trash food.
