My husband found this great little spot after ordering it on Uber Eats from work. We decided to go into the location mid-day on a Friday and could not have had a better experience. The food was REALLY good and shocked at the quantity for the $7 Thali. We got our food within 5 min so I'm surprised by some of the few bad ratings. The lady at the check-out could not have been nicer and we really enjoyed our time in Swadeshi. We are really excited they are in Southlake since we live in Roanoke and we don't always feel up to driving all the way to Irving.

I have buyers remorse currently. I stopped in there on my way to do something else and I saw the pastries in the case. They look much better than they taste. I ordered a butterscotch and pineapple pastry. The butterscotch was not moist, it was a bit dry. The pineapple was a little bit more moist however both pastries tasted like they had freezer burn ruining the whole experience. I'm really disappointed because their presentation is amazing.

We ordered the tali box lunches for a big all-together meeting at work. Lunch for 70, both veg and non-veg and everyone was happy. No leftovers! Perfect portion sizes that made getting back to the afternoon session much easier. Will be using them again!!

Food is great but they just can't seem to pull it together. Every time we order (usually online) and go to pick our order up, there is ALWAYS at least one or two things wrong or missing. It's sad because I really was hoping this would work out.

Definitely was expecting something better. A few things that really get on my nerves---when you are serving food and it is extremely hot in the establishment and the lady that worked the register not giving us the cash discount even after seeing the two people in front of us getting the cash discount. My bf didn't want me to even bother fixing it after I noticed and to be honest, the food doesn't look appetizing. Plantain chips were good and the mango lassi was just ok. Prob won't be back or recommend this place.

First, I'd like to share how excited I was to hear there was an Indian grocery store coming to southlake. That being said it has been such a disappointment for many reasons. I have waited to write a review because I like to give businesses a chance to get into a groove, find, address and resolve any issues that arise. I first went on grand opening week (didn't really need anything, but wanted to support them) and picked up a few items (snacks, spices, tea) and also went to get some of the fresh made food in the display. The first thing I noticed was how long it took to take the order and also get the food, BUT it was early in the opening so I showed grace and waited patiently. When I finally got to the front I was told that that line was for the food only and I needed to pay for the groceries at a different line near the front door...WHAAAT??! Ok whatever, so paid for the fresh food there, then went to the grocery line and waited for more than 10 minutes, paid for the groceries in the other line, then went back to the fresh food line to grab the cutlets ans samosas, waited 20 minutes, asked about my order and they said it would be a few more minutes. 10 minutes later went up to one of the kids who was working the food registers and he had no idea where my order was. At this point, I had been at the store for 50 minutes and so frustrated. I then asked to speak to the manager so I could get a refund and leave because I couldn't waste anymore time waiting for four items (that btw were just sitting in the display case). So after I asked for the refund the owner came over and asked what was wrong so I explained the above. He spoke to the boys in what I'm guessing Telegu or Tamil and one of them finally grabbed a bag, put the food into it, and gave it to me. It took a minute, literally one minute to get my food. So, I get in the car and call my good friend and explained how irked I was about what just happened and she said the exact same thing happened to her two days before! She also said that compared to all the other grocery stores this one has a major up charge on all the items. So I went back the following week looking for puttu podi powder. I asked the owner and he says that they don't carry it at this store, but he has it at his other stores, and will get it in two weeks. No problem, I head back 3 weeks later, no puttu podi, so, I pull it up on Google so he can see the front of the bag, he confirms he has it at his other store and says it will be here next week. It still 9 months later is not at the store.Next is the portion sizes for the ordered food that they cook in the back. One Friday evening, I ordered some food for pick up and bought three containers of food: butter chicken, tandoori chicken and saag paneer. When I got home and opened the containers, I was shocked, it was all curry and barely any chicken. We have always gone to mughlai restaurant, but wanted to give swadeshi a try. Never did that again and went right back to mughlai because the pricing is the almost the same (swadeshi charges more flr many dishes) except the service, atmosphere and taste of Mughlai food is sooo much better. Why would anyone pay more or the same amount of money for Swadeshi food when it's a grocery store, no waiters, no nice restaurant atmosphere, small portion sizes, etc...Next is the selection of items and pricing. It's craaaazy how little selection there is at this store. I decided today was the day to write this review because I went in (after 6 months of not going) because I just wanted to grab some mangoes ans uperi. I found the uperi ans went to get the box of mangos and my jaw dropped!!!! $22.99 for 9 mangoes!!! I stood there and I thought, "This has to be a mistake so I asked, "This says $22.99. Her reply was, "yes, but it's for 9." I was floored because I just bought mangoes from Tom Thumb the day before and it was .99 cents for each of the regular mangoes and 2/$3.00 for the honey mangoes (Catalina). The ones at Swaddshi were the Catalina. It is wrong when businesses up charge based on city. They are still getting the items for wholesale pricing and even if the rent may be more, this much of a markup is unacceptable. Everybody works hard for their money and shouldn't be taken advantage of like this. Even with gas prices this high, I would rather go a few more miles to Patel Brothers in Irving where they pay attention to their customers, they are organized, prompt, quick, and they price items as they should be priced. Again, I don't write negative reviews unless it's something so bad that I feel others should know about. The lack of selection, high pricing, lack of customer service make for a not so great shopping experience. What should have been a great addition to southlake has turned into a disappointment. If you have hours and money to waste and want to wait a long time on food, definitely go here, if not, don't waste your time.

Great food, always hot and great value compared to other Indian restaurants in DFW. $14 for Khadie Chicken Curry and you get two sides; 2 naans, double rice, rice and a naan). Their competition charges $19/dish plus you pay separately for rice and naan. I've gone there a couple times and they recognize me and greet me every time. They are thankful for you business and the food is great.

Don't recommend this Swadeshi location. The people working the food counter are untrained and callous. Twice I've been charged for items that were not packed. There's no manager around. Today I ordered idli and didn't get any sambhar. When asked, they said they were out. I don't understand the lack of ethics at this location. Not returning
