We absolutely loved our experience here. My daughter has celiac disease so she has to eat gluten free and they were amazing with that. As soon as we sat down I spoke with the manager and she was SO nice and accommodating! For our gluten free needs we made a few simple requests: 1. Please boil her edamame and rice noodles in a fresh pot of water. 2. Please use clean utensils and a clean area when making her sushi. That's about it! And they had GF soy sauce! My daughter had edamame, hot rock steak, Pho and nigiri and she loved everything! For our other items -- I got a salmon avocado roll, a tuna roll and a bunch of nigiri. Everything was fantastic!

The family couldn't agree on where to eat so I took the lead and picked out this spot we haven't been to...I believe this is about the third iteration of a restaurant in it's location off 407. As I like to get to the point and explain later; good traditional ideas have been mixed in with the pop-sushi that is appearing. A very eclectic menu with some successes in different areas of flavor. I'd recommend the place as a pretty good fusion of old and new ideas. Worth a visit. It's clean and the people are very naturally friendly. You can sit at the sushi bar high stools or the high top bar made for drinks. We were first sat at a smaller four top but one of them noticed I'm a pretty good-sized guy and got us a bigger table set up. I appreciate the thought. My youngest daughter started off with the Ramune drink and chicken pho ($13). They use white meat and the flavor is pretty good considering it's a different style of food than traditional Japanese. They do have a kids menu for 12 and under and that would probably be a good amount for my daughter. But since she's turned 13 she insists on ordering off the adult menu....so she ordered it and we all shared. They had a special this night on snow crab rolls ($20) so I ordered one to start. My wife got a beer ($8.5) and I decided on a mango hot sake ($16 for 13 oz) both of which were well worth it. My older daughter decided on a shrimp tempura roll ($9) and my wife got the Fiesta ($16). Tempura is self-explanatory if you eat sushi and the Fiesta is basically that same tempura with a topping of krab. You can get lost in the different types of rolls, many of which are the pop sushi of today drowned in cream cheese, eel sauce, spicy mayo, etc. But there's a few clean ones. Over the course of the evening I also ordered the Triple Layer Tower ($18).Special mention here as it's a little more unique here than other places that just flood the fish with rice, avocado, and spicy mayo....This one is very clean with ponzu sauce and to me would be best eaten as is and not mashed up like its tower counterparts elsewhere. A very clean version that is worth a try. My wife liked the Fiesta so much she ordered another one and then I asked the chef to prepare a favorite roll for me. TBH He decided to with the spicy mayo version of a salmon roll with salmon and masago topper ($18) Was hoping for a little more creativity but the flavor was fine. I did order a hot rock appetizer ($22) which is presented as sliced raw WAGYU to cook on a hot stone. Fun concept with my kids and wife all giving it a shot. The night wasn't cheap but that's just how dining out is these days. About $180 bucks with a 20% tip slid just past $200.... But overall a fun evening with the family and very much enjoyed the food and hospitality. Might order less next time...LOL...but will visit again

Brought my daughter here after a doctor appointment. We pretty much had the place to ourselves which made for a nice and cozy lunch. The servers were all friendly. We chose the shrimp bento box and the sashimi special. The bento box was good, my favorite item was the seaweed salad. The sashimi special was good too. My daughter said the salmon was a little slimy but still edible. We will definitely come back in the future to try some dinner items.

First time here. Been looking for a good sushi place since moving to Texas a year ago. We ordered the calamari special to start. It was good and spicy just like the waitress advised. For dinner we had the yellowtail with wasabi mayo, the Carrollton, the spider and the Lantana. All were very good. We will definitely be back.

Early Friday dinner at Sushi Yamazaki - what a pleasure! We ate here under the previous business , another unrelated sushi restaurant The last several years we been searching for a worthy sushi restaurant to go to, especially as sushi is expensive, happy to say we've found itWe decided to eat early at 5pm, glad we did as it became very busy shortly after our arrival. We ordered a large warm Saki, two house salads and 4 sushi rollsSalad greens were fresh , crisp and plentiful.. a nice starter to our rollsWe ordered a rainbow roll, spicey tuna roll, Highland Village roll and Phoenix roll. FIRST, let me say they were all excellent. Excellent ratio of fish to rice, fish was incredibly tender and the stickey rice was perfect. In its own class was the Phoenix roll.. textures, flavors - FANTASTIC! Would order this any chance I visitAdditionally service was perfect.. lots of staff and our waitress Macy was very attentive. I even caught the owner cleaning up a booth prior to a new customer because she discovered some things last second and wasn't satisfied with the booth before the customers sat downIncredibly happy to have a new "go to" sushi restaurant within 3 miles of our home - we"ll be back plenty!

Came to dinner with my young children ranging from 4yrs old to 14yrs old and was charged with an 18% automatic gratuity. My husband and I have never been charged automatic gratuity with our kids. The manager for the night stated that this is new for the business and for large parties they add this automatic gratuity. I again stated that no other restaurant has ever charged us as a large party with our non adult children. To top it off, the waiter never cleared our table and the service was honestly subpar. Go to Hush, Sushi Zen, Nikko, Sushi Sakana. All places have great sushi/ along with great service and no added gratuity when eating with your family.
