I love the Thai Tom Yum soup, and my hubby gets the Pho. Both are SO GOOD! Great food and fast friendly service. Best Thai restaurant that we've tried in S. Arlington.

This place... is not very good. I'm a bit perplexed by the good reviews. The restaurant itself is pretty casual, definitely more so than most Thai places I feel. Service was friendly. I ordered the salt and pepper squid and the khao piak sen/chicken with the crispy chicken skin as a topping (on the side). The squid was battered into a blob, the batter was undercooked but soaking in oil. It was an oily, squishy mess. Flavor was not there. The fried chicken skin had good flavor but again the batter is wrong. It felt heavy and it was not freshly fried. Super tough, barely any crunch. The khao piak sen is the biggest disappointment. The chicken pieces were overcooked and flavorless. The broth was murky and devoid of any flavor. The broth was like the hot boiling water they cooked the chicken and the noodles in? I love khao piak sen and this made me so sad to eat and pay money for. The noodles.... They came out in short clumps. It tasted old and floury. I will not come back but maybe the usual Thai fair is what people get and will taste better? I feel like the dishes I had were so poorly cooked, I really can't imagine there's a standout on the menu. Just as an aside, this place is TOO casual for the tip options to START at 20%. It's an akin to a fried chicken place.

I'm really happy we stumbled into Sunny Thai. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. The entrees were very full of flavor, and the spice level was exactly how I would expect for what I ordered. I do think the salad rolls were just okay. They weren't bad, but mainly more of an edible utensil for the peanut sauce but didn't really do much on their own. The mango sticky rice was very good. Not too sweet, but just right. The warm sticky rice with the cool mango was also nice.

After seeing the high yelp reviews plus the easy to find location we had to stop in. We were first in the door as soon as it opened so our service and food was quick. I was craving some soup with the cooler weather so Tom Kha to start with Teriyaki chicken as my entree. It was beyond good and hit the spot.

I ordered Tom yum chicken, red curry tofu, and two yellow curry chicken. There was NO meat or protein in both yellow curries. Was disappointing to say the least. Food was good, but I'm not sure how you slip up on something like this. Probably won't return for to go orders in the future. Buyers beware.

I had the beef pad kee mao and a Thai tea. The entree came with a cup of vegetable soup. Everything was good overall. The vegetable soup was fairly unremarkable but still a nice little bonus appetizer. The pad kee mao was a little too heavy on the sauce but otherwise good. I ordered a 3/5 on the spicy scale but it lacked the spice I was expecting at that level, especially for a traditionally spicy dish like pad kee mao.The Thai tea was likewise good but a little too heavy on the condensed milk. It came in a plastic boba cup. I personally prefer mine in a glass with ice and a spoon. It seems to taste better that way for some reason and the melting ice helps cut some of the sweetness. The inside is casual with tables and booths. They each accommodate 4 people if I remember right, though you can probably combine tables if you have a larger party.Overall, it's not the best Thai I've ever had, but it's above average and I would eat here again.

Stopped by as we were in the area and were hungry for lunch! Get the fried rice with pork at slice level 3... it was so good, couldn't put down my spoon, kept taking spoonfuls! Kids got pad thai with chicken and they really liked it staying that they want to come back here just for the pad Thai. I was happy to see vegetarian options, but do yourself a favor and pick the dumplings with meat. The veggie dumplings were too soft. I really wanted it to be flavorful.

New management, new level of food quality. I placed an order to go and left a specific request for extra sauce for both of my noodle dishes. Not followed. The dishes are both super dry because whatever sauce was in them was soaked up.Pad thai fail. I paid extra to add shrimp to my pad thai and that equaled 2 1/2 shrimp. I guess 1.00 per shrimp. I ordered both the spring rolls and the pork rolls.7.00 for for 5 vegetarian rolls and 8.00 for the pork and they basically have no filling in them. The only truly good thing was the egg drop soup and it had a drop more sesame oil than I would have liked.I saw an update on Yelp that said they are under new management and I am not sure when that happened but this may be my last visit for a while.Almost 60.00 for this meal and it was just ok. In this economy, that will not do. For almost 100.00, the meal, its ingredients and quality need to be a 5 across the board. This was not that. While tasty, it lacked in all of the other key areas.
