Stone Canyon Ranch and Cabin

Came out here for the weekend and brought our puppy with us. Love this place! We stayed in the Civil War cabin and it had everything we needed; towels, dishes, coffee, linen, etc. The only thing they didn't have is a hair dryer. There is a gas grill outside and we grilled steaks and sat around the fire pit. We brought some movies to watch since there is a DVD player. The hot water never runs out so it was nice to take a long hot shower. Nice weekend getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a beautiful property, lots of land to roam around. I went for the day as an invited guest. I had access to both cabins Bootlegger and Civil War Cabin. Both are equipped with electricity, air conditioning, big TVs, DVD players (stocked with a small selection of movies) full size kitchens including stove and refrigerator. Plus they both had grills on the nice sized back porches. There is no wi-fi. The Civil War Cabin has one bedroom down stairs located off the kitchen and the living/dining area is one big room, a couch & two twin beds in the upstairs loft. Only one bathroom also off of the kitchen with a free standing old style bathtub/shower. The washer/ dryer is located in the bathroom. The Bootlegger cabin is a studio style. The bathroom was very nice, the shower was huge and had room for two adults with dual shower heads. This cabin also has a loft that would accommodate an air mattress. This cabin has a hot tub on the back porch. There are trees in between the cabins that block the view so when you are inside or on the back/front porches of one cabin, you can't see the other cabin, but they are next to each other.There are horses available for guided horse riding tour. This would need to be reserved ahead of time. The activities we did were walking/exploring the trails and limestone creeks. It is a good work out. There is not a fishing pond. Be sure to take extra socks/clothes or be prepared to do laundry during your stay. I thin our family will return for some electronic free good times.

This place is outstanding and the management team is wonderful! You truly feel like you have escaped the city. The place is impeccable and so well done!!!

My husband and I booked the Bootlegger's Shack, which is anything but a shack. Very well-done in a rustic style with modern amenities. There's a cute kitchen with everything you need, and the sinks have washtub basins - very creative. In the bath, the large walk-in shower has 2 shower heads and good water pressure. There's a front and back porch, with a private hot tub on the back porch. We got a great night's sleep because they have a very comfortable king-size bed. We wanted to get away from the city and do some star-watching. This place is right on a creek, lots of land - so it's very quiet and the night sky was lovely! The couple who manage the property met us when we drove up to the gate and led us to the cabin, showed us around and were very nice. David, the owner, was wonderful and very responsive to our reservation request. Highly recommend!!!

Love, love, LOVE this place!! The cabins are amazing! The bathtub in the civil war cabin is to die for. It's like you're really in an old war cabin or bootleggers shack except all the modern comforts we need (want) are there just hidden to keep the look and feel of it being old alive! The property is beautiful. The owner, David (who I hear is also a well known Dentist) is extremely nice, helpful and it doesn't hurt that he's good looking! Haha. Rex, the ranch manager was extremely helpful too. We rode four wheelers and beautiful Tennessee Walking Horses. People board their horses so don't be surprised if you see people around property where the barns are. Otherwise, it's peaceful and quiet at night. Hot tub was amazing too!! I will be staying again!!

It's was a facility for a wedding or some other type of festive event! It's beautiful for an outdoor or indoor event.

Kids woke up with bug bites and had to leave early. Guy that runs it is creepy and constantly drives by to watch you. If I were here alone I would not use the outdoor shower...if the guy wanted to he could definitely watch you.

Beautiful cabin and property not far from Dallas. Great place for a relaxing getaway. Dog friendly and very safe place. Owner David McFadden keeps the place immaculate.
