Small but mighty! It looks small from the outside but can seat quite a few tables inside! This is a Shanghai small eats casual dining restaurant with a Shanghai chef. It's located next to the massage place. We ordered the Kung pao chicken, pork and leek dumplings, teriyaki fish, and pan fried pork bun. All delicious and prices are great for most Chinese food. The pan fried pork bun is very comparable to Wu Wei Din and Dragon House for a cheaper price. The pork and leek dumplings were filled to the brim with meat and the dumpling skin was very thin. The Kung pan chicken was spicy and flavorful, good with rice. A bit heavy. The teriyaki fish or 燻鱼 was great in flavor and came out hot. FYI- the menu is a bit confusing but the dishes S1 - S13 can be either A La Carte for $10.99 each dish or made into a "Steamed Meal" for $13.99 with soup and vegetables added on. Highly recommend for a quick bite or take out! Will come back to try out more dishes.

I thought this place was a massage parlor with it's name..lol. We're sitting in the parking lot and my husband says "lets eat at Steam Cafe" and I'm like... it's a massage parlor, they have food there? The look he gave me. Well, Steam Cafe is NOT a massage Parlor..haha. It's behind 99 ranch. Depending on what way you are coming in (from Old Denton) it's straight in front of you on the same side as Taste of Chengdu, Volcano hot pot, and Ten Second. We ate here a few months ago and from looking at the menu, I don't remember, the wok part of the menu.. only the steamed. Idk. Anyway, I got steamed pork ribs with black bean sauce. When we go for dim sum, I always look forward to the pork ribs. I don't know why I love these little ribs so much, but I do. A plateful of them!!! with rice. They were really good. No complaints. I don't remember what husband or kids got.

Ambiance was nice and it was pretty clean. Service was great too! However, the food was lacking. We ordered a beef noodle soup which lacked some flavor and then stir fried noodles which was actually pretty decent. Then we ordered the juicy steamed dumplings with pork and the inside filling was uncooked! We complained and we received another batch of pink uncooked pork filling... the waitress tried to convinced us that is how it is made but we've had steamed pork dumplings at other places before and the filling was always fully cooked and not pink (as it should be). The waitress was kind enough to take the dumplings off our bill. Won't be back unfortunately.

such a disappointment, how can you named yourself steam cafe if you can't make soup dumplings right? I wonder if they made gluten-free soup dumplings, no way you can pick them up without breaking the wrapper, and there's no flavor at all, we left hungry.

Accidentally stumbled upon this place. Was planning on visiting the hot pot place next door. Pleasantly surprised. Got the hunan fish and pan fried pork bun. Both were good. Hadn't had this specific type of fish dish before. Free radish appetizer was interesting - reminded me of Wu mei

Dishes are very good is a relatively affordable shop, the service is also very good, basically a week to 3.4 times, like their pork bun often call in advance to say to them what want to eat so that they can help me prepare in advance

The waiting time for food was unbelievable long. The waitress explained the bun is fresher made and cooked, and that's why it's taking so long. Well I used to go to Din Tai Fung all the time when I was living in LA. The waiting time was never long. Anyways, the kaofu was not cooked properly, and was still partially cold. The waitress took it off the bill. The vinegar for bun had a sweet soda taste in it. I don't know how the hell that could happen. The total bill is $50.83, not cheap but for this type quality of food is just not worth at all.
