SmackBird Hot Chicken - Fort Worth

The tenders were really good! I got mild and they were exactly mild lol next time I will try a step up. I was expecting different fries based on the pictures I seen here but they were regular which was a bummer for me. I wasn't a fan of the sauce they gave with the tenders but that's just a personal preference as I don't like pickles on my chicken & the sauce had a creamy pickle-y taste. The tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside which I loveeedddd!

Woahhhh! That was some good chicken!! I am very glad I stopped by here during a work trip, top tier fried chicken sandwiches! I got the big bird, and it had two huge piece of chicken in it, big enough to make 2 sandwiches with, with some of the best fries (potato wedge style) I have ever had! I got the hot smack level... and as a fellow spicy food lover, maybe go with the lower level or ask for a lot of extra sauce, because that was some red face with a little stuffy nose spicy. This is a restaurant inside of cowboy chicken (another restaurant). So service is not very fast, recommend ordering pickup for the best service. Plenty of seats inside to eat at the restaurant if you want also. That way you can keep asking for more of that smack sauce cause you can never have enough. Love it! Definitely coming here if I am ever in FTW!

This one is an odd situation with how this restaurant works. Talking the staff, it appears the owner controls Cowboy Chicken and SmackBird, as this is in a Cowboy Chicken facility. There aren't any signs for SmackBird outside nor inside. We had the right address, and calling the number the recording states it's "hidden inside Cowboy Chicken", so we walked inside to see. There isn't a staff to take any orders, tho the staff of Cowboy Chicken did answer questions. To order, there is an iPad at the end of the counter to place the order and pay for the meal, all done on your own. Or the app can be downloaded and ordered that way. Place the order and upon paying it didn't ask about tips, that was another interesting piece. To the food... it was surprisingly really really good. The chicken was very moist and the exterior was very crispy. Wife and I both really enjoyed the food. Food rating.... 5 stars. However, the building, not good! The interior was absolutely discussing. There is dust EVERYWHERE!! The air intake and returns are caked in grime and dust, the lights, cameras, fire extinguishers, light switches, and pretty much every flat surface above eye level was dirty and nasty. I felt the need to take a shower just sitting there waiting on the food. We watched the rotisserie chicken roasting on the fire and saw an employee add more skewers of raw chicken, no biggy, he was wearing gloves, but then with the same gloves he cross contaminated the chicken that was done roasting by grabbing those and taking them off the rotisserie and placing them on the tray. Disgusting. We didn't get sick off the chicken we ate, it was deep fried, but I'm a bit afraid to see what goes on behind that kitchen wall if they don't care about cross contamination of food. If the place was near presentable for table guests, than this would for sure be a 4 star review. If we didn't see the cross contamination of food, then it would be another star added to the review. Again, the food was amazing, great flavor and really good, but the overall experience is a big negative for us.

I'm 100% sure we got the wrong order, or more than one person in the kitchen was not doing their job. When I received my order, I was missing a coleslaw slide, the chicken sandwiches were not labeled "Good Smack" or "Hot Smack," and both chicken sandwiches tasted very spicy. My wife ordered a good smack expecting a kick, but I'm sure we both got the spiciest option. She could not eat her sandwich. Also, the service was very mediocre. All the workers by the register were busy and had a poor attitude. There was one young black gentleman who had a great attitude, stopped for a moment, gave us guidance with our order and later informed us our order was still being made. The other lady had an AirPod in her ear avoiding contact. We didn't have a dedicated person or someone at the register readily available to assist us with our order or available to take orders. We were handed a tablet with no further instructions to order our food. The gadget to swipe your card to pay didn't even work. When waiting for our food, we did wait 5-10 minutes over the 15 minutes promised. We weren't given an option to receive a physical receipt and my order was not labeled that it belonged to me. If we didn't receive the wrong order, the kitchen had poor attention to detail. I cannot lie, the sandwich was tasty. I did enjoy it. But all in all, the poor service, the price, and the blunder made by the kitchen -- this was absolutely not worth the price. We're very disappointed with our order and we most likely will not return. SmackBird seems to be a well-kelp secret. Inside Cowboy Chicken (already a great place to eat), you'll find a small electronic tablet with the SmashBird logo near the cashier. That's the only clue I had that this was the right place for Nashville Hot Chicken. It's a DIY order process that's a little clunky; you can't order without pickles, for example. The chicken strips were made-to-order and arrived at my table fresh 'n hot. I ordered the medium spice level and it was just right. The fries were good, too. The food is so good, Cowboy Chicken should proudly put it on their menu and not hide it in a ghost brand.

Wings are good size and taste, get the ranch if you dont like Mayo based Smack sauce. Fries & Mac n cheese are simple and tasty enough. Wish had more wing flavor options but glad we tried it out. Order was to go and staff was friendly. It's inside of Cowboy Chicken so that was the ambiance.

I have been here twice in the past week and a half and have been pleased with the service each time. The lady who greeted me for my pick up order is welcoming and will remember you. Smack bird is a ghost kitchen located inside cowboy chicken. I ordered the fan favorite spice level (level 3) for the 8 piece nuggets which comes with pickles, a slice of bread and a side. The prices are reasonable and the food is filling. I tried their Mac and cheese which is decent and their fry dippers pairs well with the jalapeño ketchup. Their smack sauce pairs wel with the nuggets. I tried one of their dessert options of banana pudding, delicious and flavorful. I look forward to many happy returns.

We were visiting out of town, my teenager found the place online. He didn't know that it was hidden in another restaurant (maybe he didn't read enough reviews??). It took us quite a while to find it and we went in to the other named place and asked them. They pointed to the iPad. lol OooooK!! Now we found it. It was worth the drive around. Food was awesome. He got the mac and cheese one. I just got tenders. I wasn't as hungry but I wish I was b/c it was so so good. Fries were awesome. Loved the dipping sauces and I'm not much for sauces. Everything was awesome. The place could use a little more help b/c they were crammed with catering/to go orders (for the other restaurant) and were busy, but what place in America isn't short on help these days? Restaurant was clean, napkins/forks/drinks... all that stuff there... easily available. Wanting to go back. Place was awesome. Also found some great shops nearby that we ended up going to, so it was a double win for us.

Great food. -1 star for no signage. It's unclear why this restaurant runs a separate restaurant and menu rather than just having one menu. But the food is great.
