Showdown II

I have been going to showdown for years, predominantly on the weekends. To preface my review, I will say i have come to have a close relationship with one of the bartenders who, in my opinion, make showdown one of the best bars to frequent in fort worth. Recently, I have noticed she has not been working the night shifts on the weekend, and it truly strikes me the wrong way. Showdown (and any bar general) in my opinion is a manifestation of the people who operate the bar, and although my review is a testament to my experience, I dont feel the same when I walk in the door and DONT see the bundle of joy that is Heather working on a friday/saturday night. Showdown is a staple of this great city. And I'm not sure what has taken my favorite bartender out of the lineup for the weekends, but I will say it is not the same on the weekends without her.

Heather and all the bartenders at showdown rock, if you act like a fool you will asked to leave don't blame the bartenders look in the mirror..... I have spoken.

Needs a new bartender for sure. Heather is less than friendly. Pool is ok but they never have live entertainment which is a shame since they have room.

Shut this place down. I have no science to back this up but Covid may have started here. I absolutely refused to even order a drink for fear of the amount of bacteria that may have been forming a new civilization in my glass. That said, over the hour i spent here, no human being that worked here even asked me if i wanted a drink. Bad. Don't do it.

A spot I probably never would have came into or known was here except for one of my Fort Worth friends. So it's Cinco de Mayo and my girl text me and says she's at the showtime or The Showdown. What the heck is this? So this is definitely my idea of a dive bar. Kind of sketchy at the entrance. Folks were kind of looking at me funny because it's a "regular" type of place. And I was the only black person that I saw the whole time I was there.I told the bartender I wasn't sure what I wanted. I was kind of worn out on the cinco de mayo drinks. Sassy bartender says well there's a list on this pole of the beers and everything you order is cheap so don't worry about it. I happen to like sassy bartenders so I smiled n wished my sweetie was there because it felt like our dive bar at home.So I got a decent IPA and reluctantly gave over my card because I was out of cash. Went and found my girls out on the back patio. Cute small and people smoke out there so wouldn't be my usual place to hang out but the inside bar area is kind of small. Probably has maybe 10 seats at the actual bar. I had two ipas. One Community Mosaic IPA and one Green Flash IPA and my tab was $7.50. Thats damn good. My friends were a little tipsy n needed to leave so I came n sat at the bar next to a good looking muscle bound guy. Friendly folks there, sassy bartenders n decent clean bathroom. The curtain in the bathroom for the first stall cracked me up and reminded me so much of this dive bar at home. I wouldn't eat anything here because it looks like microwave ish but I think I may fall in love with this place. Come get some drinks

Went in Sunday morning and Heather made me the BEST bloody Mary I've ever had! She was so helpful and gave me some awesome drink ideas I can make at home. I'll definitely become a regular!

Showdown has a friendly crowd, attentive bartenders, and upbeat karaoke. The vibe is cool as people from all walks of life came together to sing and play pool. I will definitely put it on my bar rotation!!

If you're a local you know it's a solid place. Great atmosphere, patio bartenders and sports on the TV. It's the hole in the wall you are looking for.

Best bar in town!! The bar staff is what makes it great. They have a zero-tolerance policy for dummies, which means you won't find any annoying or creepy people here. Instead, you'll enjoy witty banter, friendly service and a lively atmosphere. This is the place to be if you want to have a fun and safe night out.

Bartender is rough around the edges in multiple facets. I was not allowed in the bar for my Co-Worker's going away party, simply for having an out of state ID. She can't "validate" it, I asked her what that means and she couldn't tell me. Her tone and demeanor made me feel like a criminal for even being there. This place is for lifetime alcoholics, not casual drinking with friends.
