Found this spot on google! Needed a place to play pickleball. Downloaded the app and made a reservation same day. It is 5$ dollars to reserve for that person and then each person will be 5$. This is also outdoors! The front desk, believe his name is Richie? He is extremely welcoming and nice!

Well. I did it. I voted. Most disgusting election ever of horrible candidates. Most memorable due to COVID. BUT, this recreation center did an outstanding job in providing the facilities for the COVID plagued early voting period! I've voted in a lot of places and by many means since I could vote. This one was the most well thought out location and despite being busy, had plenty of room for even more! Plenty of room to socially distance! The facilities are nice, large, and ample room! The best part was I had the chance to drive around in the park (yes, I got distracted and got lost for a moment). The park is well maintained and that help take my mind off the really horrible candidates in this election. I may have to get lost again in this park and rec center when there isn't a polling station in use.

Beautiful new facility. Unfortunately, people prove they can't accept (or have) nice things. We've been here twice in the past week after 6 (since it has been so hot during the day) and no one has thrown away their trash. There is trash, cups, chip wrappers, pizza boxes, plates, etc all over the place and almost by every single chair. Really disheartening and disappointing that people can't take care of things and have respect for this new neighborhood aquatic center. I literally have watched families of six just get up from their table and leave all of their trash on it. What is this teaching their children? My 9 yo son asked me why people are so lazy and why they don't take care of this place. Sad. Unbelievable and will choose other, new city pools and see if we have better luck. They should put a sign up in English and Spanish that says "fine for trash = 500" or something similar.

Wow! This place is beauitful! If you want to play Tennis, please come here. Not only can adults play, but they have an entire area for kids to play tennis. They have the nicest courts for the kids blocked off in the front of the recreation center. The nets and courts and even kid friendly. They have tons of courts where areas are blocked off for private tennis lessons! They have an inside tennis shop where you can buy rackets and get your rackets gripped. In addition, you can buy tennis balls, tennis gear and if you leave your water at home, they have ice cold poweraid and water there inside the shop. This place is super clean and well maintained.

This is a pretty cool Recreation Center! I brought my teenage son to see if there were any cool activities that he could during the summer since I didn't want him just sitting around the house just doing nothing. And to my surprise, this center is the only in Dallas that had a Summer Camp that catered to teenagers. So, I booked him for the whole summer!!! :) They had him do all kinds of activities, projects, and took him on some cool field trips throughout the Metroplex. Man, how cool is that!? I wish I had something like that when I was a kid and my Summers would have been much more fun. Now, the rest of my kids want to do their Summer Camp at this Recreation Center. They told me that they wanted to experience all the good times that my son did this Summer. Y'all need to check this place out!!!

Sometimes I just wish that cities would show parks and recreation some love. Then maybe, just maybe kids would learn how to play again. It's not the prettiest or shiniest...I was actually a little nervous to sit my belongings down on the floor. But when I looked across the hall where we were having our meeting at and saw the ladies busting out Zumba like it was no one's business....I grew fond and wished that it wasn't too far from my casa.....they looked like they were having fun........then I heard a guy that was playing basketball cuss and use the N word in front of kids and I was done. Have some respect....especially in the rec center in front of kids. And when I saw the guy on duty just shrug it off.....i was done. I don't think I'll have a reason to go back, but ah well...I won't miss it too much.

Samuell Grand Recreation Center will close for remodeling at the end of October 2011. Not sure when it will be completed. Rumor has it that they will be closed for a year. It's way over due. I will update as soon as I get the real dates.

The swimming pool is staffed by idiots. The hours on the website are never correct when and their credit card machine is broken 80% of the time.
