We went here before the park opened and waited for 30 minutes to rid the ride, but then they ended up saying it was closed. Anyways the ride itself was just okay as I was not expecting too much. It was dark but you can sort of see where you are going and you go around and around the loop. The decor outside was really side. I probably ride it again, but it is not a ride of the I have to ride sort of a deal.

Runaway Mountain is a great mild to moderate roller coaster to cool down after a long hot summer day in Texas. One of the charms about this ride is that it is located indoors, and is air-conditioned, so you will love this ride. Something that will surprise you is that it IS pitch black inside. My friend thought something malfunctioned, but that is the intent of the ride, so you do not see what is coming your way. It overall isn't too intense, except the fact you can't see anything in front of you.I thought it was pretty fun, and the ride itself isn't too long or too short because a roller coaster IS in the building so you can't see anything.

Who turned out the lights??I mean really. Did Six Flags forget to pay this ride's electrical bill or what? I'm just kidding of course, the intention is that this coaster runs a complete circuit enveloped in darkness. That being said, there isn't a great deal to report. A large warehouse contains the ride and its 60ft lift hill, but oddly only the queue and front of the building have any themeing at all. Even the station/boarding platform is dull and devoid of any thematic elements. The ride itself is pretty boring apart from several decently-sized drops and a nice downward helix at the end. Coaster aficionados might recognize the layout being akin to that of a 'Windstorm' or 'Hurricane' model by the manufacturer Zamperla (which it is). For as tame a ride as it is, lines can get unexpectedly long. Perhaps it's due to the single train operation or the inherent mystique surrounding an indoor ride, but this was one of our longest waits all throughout our 2-park trip, at 25 minutes.Don't let the promise of an awesome dark ride entice you into waiting any more than half an hour for Runaway Mountain. Being enshrouded in total blackness can be thrilling, but with almost non-existent ride themeing and slow station dispatching, place this at or towards the bottom of your list of things to wait for at SFOT. It's worth a ride and coaster cred, but nothing more.Good for kids, but this thrilla is fairly vanilla.

Best indoor roller coaster in Texas. Very Fast smooth and fun in the dark. Awesome ride! The pitch black darkness leaves you wondering what direction the train will go next.

This is one of my favorite rides at sfot, but they shut it down for some reason..which makes me incredibly sad because it was actually a pretty popular ride!!!!!

One of the best rides of six flags it has great air time it's a pretty good ride the decoration is 5 stars and I love how it's an indoor ride but the part that is not good is the lights not being on and the line is sometimes very long but it's worth it after you get off but it's still my favorite ride
