Roots Cafe

Came here for brunch today with my family. Don't judge it by the exterior- or the interior. The food here is definitely a level up. The food, the presentation, not only of the food but also the staff. It's like fine dining but at home. I had the veggie plate with steak and I loved the variety. Zucchini, carrots, mushrooms and a variety of fresh micro greens. I wasn't asked how I wanted the steak but that's okay it was perfect for its setting. My kids had the breakfast plate with pancakes and it was a pretty big plate with small pancakes that are perfectly fluffy. My husband had the chilaquiles made with a Guajillo sauce. No heat. I prefer my chilaquiles with a lot of heat- inferno, but that's just a preference. I heard customers also raving about their chicken fried steak which I look forward to trying.

Staff was very nice. The food was great. I got the chicken friend chicken with brown gravy that was suggested from the waitress and it didn't disappoint. My husband opted for the steak and eggs and the only complaint would be they didn't ask how he wanted his steak cooked so it came well done. Other than that the coffee was fantastic and I'd most definitely come back on the weekend to try to dinner options!

How did Richland Hills get so lucky with such wonderful food? We were so impressed with the food quality and service! The veggie plate was flavored to perfect and was displayed so well! I'm excited to try other things in the menu! We will be coming back soon!

Always good! I recommend the chicken fried steak with brown gravy and sunny side up eggs or fried eggs, and the steak and eggs!

I saw this place open along my route to work. I work at a local cat cafe right around the corner, and we aren't allowed to sell "restaurant" food there because there are animals, but we frequently get visitors looking for such. Sometimes they'll ask for recommendations for where they could go instead. And from now on, THIS is the place I will tell them all to go to.The food is AMAZING, beautifully presented, and the wait times and prices are extremely reasonable. Our waitress, Heather, was super friendly, and my friend and I really enjoyed our experience overall. Make sure to get the loaded fries. They are so SO good.

Great food, nice people.But - if OPEN sign is on after listed opening hours. Then please don't tell me I have to wait 15 mins to take an order.I intend to go back here again, at the scheduled opening time.. if I experience this same issue, I will not go back.But great food, nice people for sure!

We were greeted right away. Friendly staff. Nick was our waiter. He was great, timely in taking our order, bringing drinks, staying on top of refills, and checking us out. There is plenty of seating, it's a big restaurant. Food came quickly and just as we ordered. Omelette had great flavor, potatoes were crispy on outside, soft in center, pancakes were very yummy. We definitely will be back. Can't wait to try lunch and dinner!

We did a pick up order for breakfast .When we got home ....I can tell you the amount of food on the breakfast plate is more than anywhere else around . Fried eggs were great. Potatoes excellent and also came with 3 sausages and pancakes . Excellent taste and very generous portions . Where else can you get this amount of great tasting food at this price ? Simple .....you can't .Staff very polite and helpful . That's a plus especially in a very demanding service industry .Check this place out and support your local owned business. We will be back .

Had breakfast.. steak and eggs yummy! Steak was seasoned well... and tender. Chilaquilles were delicious and the portion was huge! Bacon is crispy and not that thin crap served at most restaurants. The coffee is strong and so good! This is a wonderful addition to Richland Hills.
