UPDATE Oct 2022 Save your money and time to go to NYC for a Broadway show. We have got very good ones right here in Texas. We went to see Young Frankenstein, The Musical. It was on Broadway from 2007-09. I was impressed with how much the cast and crew made due with limited space, money, costumes, etc. Bring your imagination to be transported to Frankenstein's castle and lab in Transylvania. Lots of applause for the ensemble cast. They provide a lot of energy and vocal in the background. Spoiler alert: Watch for blood sucking evil guy at end of show who wants to move into castle. UPDATE Apr 2022. Back for another show, Pirates of Penzance. Overall really great show. Almost full house with masks optional. Some 27 actors in show. Great costumes, singing voices, choreography. Very impressive that there are so many talented performers in the community.

I took a gamble on a small, local theater that was performing the musical stage production of the popular Mel Brooks film Young Frankenstein. My husband and I love and often quote the cult classic film, so I optimistically bought tickets through RCT website for the last weekend the stage production was playing. The theater is tucked into a rarely visited strip mall. There was lots of parking. The entrance lobby was quite plain, but spacious. At the end of the hall, we picked up our tickets at will call. Around the corner was a small concession stand selling cute, small buckets of old, stale popcorn, cookies, soda as well as beer and wine. The theater area has old cinema seats on a raked platform. You could clearly see the stage since the seats were well staggered so you weren't looking at the back of someone's head. Unfortunately , the seats never seem wide enough, and you always find yourself fighting for the shared armrest. At least the bottom cushion was supportive and comfortable. I could have easily sat there through both acts and the intermission. The cast was phenomenal! They sang beautifully, danced with decent precision, strutted around in some amazing costumes while taking us on a near perfect rendition of the actual movie. Lighting and background sets were somewhat limited, but what they had worked great and didn't detract from the show. The comedy was there and they even threw in a few extra jabs at local politicians to the delight of the audience. It appears they focus on some classic theater productions throughout the year. Shows that are known and loved by everyone (White Christmas, Annie, Mamma Mia, etc.). It seems like a winning formula that is working for them. I wouldn't hesitate to come back for another date night.

The old RCT Theatre was located one building over and it was very exciting to see them move into a brand new facility with better and larger seating, better sound and a larger space for rehearsals and shows. The owner Laura Alley is an amazingly talented actress and singer who really loves what she does! What does she do? Pretty much everything! In what seems like no time at all, Laura manages to welcome a new group of young performers, audition them, cast them, put them into rehearsals, help them navigate their roles, sing their parts and memorize their lines, manage 30 moving parts with perfect aplomb, and direct them in a fantastic performance!Every time out (5 shows so far), my daughter has had an amazing and memorable experience. We've been to almost every children's theater in the area and always come back to Laura for a top notch show with a no-nonsense approach to treating young performers like professionals. If you have a young performer in the house, this is the best place to get them started!

The performances may be good, but don't expect them to honor your options if you missed performances due to covid-19. We were so nicely informed that we lost our entire ticket sales due to the fact it was for the 2021 performance only upon calling them after getting the information for their newest performances, and should have been told that originally which we weren't. How is this supposed to be fair and honest treatment of customers although they put on a good performance?

This is a struggling local theatre and it shows. The people are all very talented and nice but the whole place needs some serious cash invested into it. The chairs are rickety and the arm on my seat was about to pop off. The space is small but clean. Sounds quality was mediocre most of the time but sometimes was also terrible. Bathrooms are crowded and don't feel modern (paper towels from a basket) and the water fountain barely works. I hope it becomes a nicer place in the future but as it is I paid too much for a theatre that was too small.

This is a cute little theatre with some very talented people! I went to see a friend perform Hairspray and I was blown away by the show. It was so great! The tickets were reasonably priced and there wasn't a bad seat in the house. If you are looking to see a show, you should definitely check out their calendar.

My husband Charles and I have been attending Dallas Repertory Theatre for the past several years and have never been disappointed in the quality of their productions. I discovered the theater when I took my class of Richardson Community College ESL students to see the play "To Kill a Mockingbird" because we were studying it in class. I have been coming regularly ever since. Their production of CATS was as good as the show we saw at Fair Park. But, everything they do is fantastic. I recommend this theater.Sherry Caillier-Gilmer

RCT is REAL-no egos, just talented men and women putting on great musicals, plays and cabaret nights. It is a hidden treasure that should be patronized by a lot more people.

This is a new space for RCT and is wonderful! The cast of Addams Family -a Musical was so talented and really made the experience fun. Tickets are reasonably priced, easy access off Coit, loads of parking, and good restaurants close by to make it a complete evening!! This is a hidden jewel in Dallas!!!!
