Went today for lunch, table was so dirty with hair and cockroaches everywhere. We were party of 8 and we asked her to clean the table and she cleaned one side and other side she said she can't clean and there was hair there, and after cleaning one side she did not wash the hand and started making laddoo. We felt so disgusted we just left the place without eating. We always used to buy sweets from this place and mishti doi but now it was unhygienic that we could not dare to buy anything

Great place for Kati rolls. Most of the other items on the menu were oily and not as good or authentic Kolkata style except all the Kati rolls and maybe biryani is half authentic Also great for Bengali sweets and mishti doi (Bengali style yogurt)

Did take out from here. Really lived their rassgulla here, very fresh and not that sweet. Went back the next day to pick up more rassgullas!!Their kausha mangsho was actually just goat curry but it was very delicious and neat was tender. Didn't enjoy their special chicken dish. Chicken biryani was decent.

I saw a lot of updates on FB and decided to visit again. The place has changed remarkably, with a large dine-in area and better decor. We tried their veg and non-veg combo meals and singoda, which is Bengali samosa. Everything tasted good. Home style chicken curry was my favorite. I have heard a lot of mishti doi, a Bengali specialty dessert but never an opportunity to try it. The server recommended it so we got it to-go. It came a beautiful earthen pot. The taste was amazing...deep, caramalized flavor and luscious, creamy texture with just a hint of a sour note. Delish! Service was exellent! Got to love places that have honest, simple, authentic food!

Best Bengali take out. Mutton kosha, chicken ahuna, dhokar dalna are really good. Not a fan of their fish. Sweets are amazing! Also try their chops.

This is the first place I've been to in the USA where you can get authentic Bengali food. I ordered ahead for pick-up. The physical space is not that interesting and there was no one eating at the restaurant when I arrived. I got a fish dish "Rui Jhol" and a vegetable dish "Shukto" and a side of white rice. Both were mildly spiced as I like it, probably a 1 on a 5 scale that you might have at a Thai restaurant in the US. The Shukto is a bit sour yet tasty dish. It was less liquid than I've had in the past but every bit as tasty. If you are even a somewhat adventurous eater, this should be tried. Add some lemon juice when you serve it. The fish stew "Jhol" in my view is quite approachable for those that have tried more widely available Indian restaurant food, which is predominantly North and South Indian. The fish has bones in it, so be careful! The owner is from Kolkata and the decor includes a picture of Howrah Bridge.

Both the kathi rolls and the Aloo Tarkhari were spot onI found the shukto a little mild for my tastes, but lean toward the piquant in all things.Nice selection of Bengali desserts and candies

Their kosha mangsho is the single best thing on this planet. Honestly worth a michelin star.

We're not that adventurous but have been curious about this Bengali / Kolkata food place over the last few years so we stopped to get takeout. The food was SO GOOD, fresh and tasty, and the staff was so helpful to help of couple clueless newbies figure out what to eat. We ended up with Aloo Matar Paneer (fried tofu cubes, potatoes, peas in a curryish sauce), Basmati rice, Parantha (a strange dark colored wheat oily flatbread, sweeter than you might think), and a dish of garnishes that is amazing and adds so much to the overall combo of flavors. Definitely eat them with the meal. Sliced onions, cucumbers, shredded carrots with a squire of lime. Very nice friendly people! Try it!
