We tried Portillo's today I had an original and a Maxwell street polish, Wife had the beef and cheddar croissant. We enjoyed iitsadlywith 2 missing drinks.couldn't finish them good sizes little pricey $30 as pictured. We will visit again for sure. I'm new to the menu selections hence for 4stars.Pleasant and upbeat staff - lots of young adults- college town- I favor that.young lady taking orders in person ( Sat pm Nov 2nd) was Excellent.Knew the menu- was helpful in new-comer questions.Clean indoor/ smaller outdoor area.Decor upbeat and nostalgi with Denton history spotlighted( fun).

I used to visit Portillos in Chicago all the time. I wouldn't say it was exactly the same but excited to have them in Texas. I got a sausage, onion rings and a chocolate shake. My only complaint was that the shake had very little chocolate in it. The customer service was great however. Expect a little wait as your order is cooked fresh.

I don't mind paying for a good sandwich combo, but this was mediocre at best. I had heard Portillo's serves a good steak sandwich, so I ordered the combo thru the drive thru. Service was quick, and I found a place in their parking lot to eat. Immediately surprised that the steak sandwich was lukewarm, and the bread was completely soggy. I might add that I was surprised there was only shredded steak and a piece of sweet pepper, which I did request. No other ingredients. Very mediocre for a $16 combo.

Nice looking place with cool retro decor for a fast food place and good sized eating space that was relatively clean for fast food. Not sure why staff wears gloves that then they are wiping their hair and on their cell phones though.....I would say the food itself is average at best.

Love the salad fixings on the chopped salad but I drop the chicken and the bacon- still a hearty salad with the cheese and pasta. Family chooses the Italian beef and burgers. Chocolate cake shake is always a favorite!

This is my second visit this week. I was invited on Monday to try it out with some friends and today my parents and brother were wanting to try it out. I love the decor and the ambience is so warm, nostalgic, and homey. There's a little display with different good quality souvenirs you can purchase. The first visit I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries with cheese dip. Oh my goodness, the fries are crinkle cut and fresh, hot, and crispy (not too salty but salty enough). The cheese sauce pairs perfectly with the fries. The spicy chicken sandwich was full of good flavor and not too spicy and freshly made. As for my visit today I ordered the rodeo burger. The patties is charbroiled with onion rings, bacon, cheese, and bbq sauce. It's a hearty burger with lots of flavor. I was impressed. As for the staff they are all super friendly and helpful and keep that place super clean. I am excited for my next visit.

Not impressed. First time I have been here. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich with a small onion ring and unsweetened tea for $17. The onion rings were very good and the highlight of the meal. The sandwich was just bread and meat; no veggies or dressing. It was horribly dry and bland. There was no seasoning on the meat.

Love the Italian beef at Portillo's! We were on the way to spend the weekend with family and had to pick up lunch for everyone on the way. We asked for gravy on the side to keep everything fresh. Everything was packed up nicely and bagged to ensure no leaks. We had our two cats in the car as well, and the drive thru team members made our day by drawing a cat on one of the napkins for us to discover after we arrived at our destination! Great service, tasty eats.
