Papaya Mexican Grill

Papaya grill was absolutely amazing ! The service was outstanding . We were helped by the owner and a server, both very attentive and friendly . The food , OMG the food ! I got the quesobirria tacos they were to die for and my husband got the fajitas , he said they were also very good. We also got the Mexican shrimp cocktail appetizer it was very delicious. Our margaritas were strong and very flavorful . I would definitely Recommend this place and I will be back .

This gem is a couple miles from Decorators Warehouse, so if you aren't from there you might not know about it. I mentioned Decorators Warehouse, because you NEED to eat good before you go shopping. What drew us in was the bbq pit with a whole log hanging out and smoking. The son-in-law of the bbq master explained that there were two specials going on from the pit: Carna asada or ribs. We decided on Carna asada plate with a side of ribs. The plate came with a smoke potato, guacamole, Charo beans, rice, and tortillas. THIS WAS THE BEST CARNA I've had in the DFW area! It's a seat yourself restaurant and service is very fast. If you aren't in the area, it's worth it to drive out here!

Lived in arlington my whole life and never knew about this place.Great customer service, large portions of protein with their platters, and reasonably priced.My issues were the chips being VERY stale, the barbacoa didn't have much flavor - the corn tortilla for the tacos were stale and chewy not soft, the pastor was surprisingly good and my friend liked her birria tacos but the rice and beans were bland. The plastic goblets the frozen drinks came in just throws off the flavor and temperature of the drinks, but that's a personal preference.Also I felt the frozen drinks didn't have liquor in them and the floater that was added is the liquor that's suppose to be mixed into the frozen drink machine.We went during the evening so the space was dimly lit, air was stuffy, but place is spacious, and felt like an original party bar that hasn't changed in years.

It'd been a minute, a long minute, but I made my way back to Papaya Mexican Grill and felt sad I had let so much time pass since my last visit. This restaurant is joyful, it's colorful, it's clean, and it has a great staff. Their menu is both traditional Mexican dishes and classic Tex-Mex meals. I think their carne asada is fantastic, the nachos are delicious, and the street tacos and enchiladas are even more delicious.

Good service, good food and super friendly staff. We tried the strawberry mango margarita and it was fantastic. For lunch we did street tacos, a chili relleno and an appetizer sampler.

Y'all are missing out if you haven't tried the Quesabirria Harina tacos. Absolutely delicious flour tortillas stuffed with birria meat and melted cheese! Didn't even dip them in the consommé cuz the green salsa that comes with is fire, spicy and flavored with a kick. The rice and beans were good but the tacos steal the show. We started off with the appetizer sampler which was also good, starting with the quesadilla being #1, especially when dipped into the queso, yummy! Nachos were tasty and loaded with meat, served individually which I'm not used to but was delicious. The chicken flautas were also tasty but a bit over cooked tonight. I'd say overall a delicious Taco Tuesday and I'm sure we'll be back!!

Stopped in for an early dinner 4 pm. I ordered the 4 tacos plate with sides. I got 1 Asada, 1 Carnitas and 2 Pastor. The carnitas were good (8/10), asada was ok (5/10), Pastor was my least favorite I've had (2/10). The only items that aren't Steak, Chicken or shrimp were the tacos. All other items are more Tex mex. Staff and service were good. My only complaint is that I felt like they were rushing me out. I was trying to do some studying while I ate but with the constant interruptions it made it pointless, so I just left. they were so quick to serve that it made it seem like a fast food place and not a restaurant. Which just wasn't what I was looking for. Ambience and decorations were good. They had a couple of TV's with sports on and music playing. Overall I do not think I will be back and would try somewhere else.

Food, drinks and service were ahhhmazing!! The watermelon cucumber margarita was soooo delish. One of the very best margs I've ever had. I even had to get a couple to go! I can't remember the name of what I got but the meat was tender, the rice yummy, charro beans spot on. My husband got the wet burrito. He's a big guy and could only eat at maybe a third of it if he ate that much. I would come here again and again. Very friendly, great food and quick service!!

Foods ok. Chips leave an after taste in your mouth like old fry grease or something . The fajita steak is kinda fatty and fajitas too salty. There's better out there

AMAZING!!!! Definitely a hidden gem. We stumbled on this place on accident after we had to walk out on another restaurant (el arroyo). First we started with drinks. House margaritas not from a machine hand made and delicious! My husband got a cucumber and jalapeño margarita and I was so jealous it was delicious and refreshing. As for food I ordered the ceviche and tortillas soup. Both amazing! The ceviche only had shrimp in it but still flavor was great! My husband ordered the quesabirrias harina and it was phenomenal, the sauces amazing and great flavor with epic proportions. The staff was so sweet and just perfect. New favorite place I can't wait to come back Ps we ordered the choco flan last min and it was incredible- insert happy dance what a way to end the meal!
