The sandwich's here are AMAZING! Any time I'm in itasca will stop to get one. They also have other things in the store to buy like coffee, chips, cookies, and pies. They also offer a sugar free selection of goods which is great! The chocolate chip cookies are one of my favorites! The sandwiches though are the best part. The bread is fresh and they are just so good! If you're wanting a good sandwich I suggest you go there!

Are you up for a country drive for a little bit of nostalgia, great homemade soup, custom sandwiches, and possibly shopping for a crazy assortment of local grocery stuff (sweets, jams, preserves, breads, cooking ingredients, etc)?? This doesn't include the great service you will get. Take a short drive to Itasca (not far off IH35W and very close to Hillsboro) and visit The Olde Towne Country Store. You will be in for a treat that will you forget those fast food stops. We had some absolutely amazing sandwiches (enough for two meals) and spent way too much money on sweets, preserves, bread (we took home jalapeno bread - not hihomemade noodles, fresh vegetables (amazing flavored bell peppers and tomatoes), along with other cooking ingredients, and much more. They sell Key Lime Pie feeling in a squeeze bag. I wanted to turn that thing on end and squeeze into my mouth. Reminded me of the old I Love Lucy show. There is a Railroad Museum near the high school football field but it wasn't open.

This establishment will transport you back in time: friendly staff that goes out of their way and delicious food that's worth leaving the highway. We all had sandwiches on delicious, fresh-baked bread. Fried pies are among the best in TX- the peach had a light crust and perfectly spiced filling with plenty of fruit. Surprising selection of grocery and specialty items will encourage you to grab a basket and shop while they make your sandwich in the back. The cashier was so sweet: personally walked us to the back to explain the process and the ladies preparing the sandwiches clarified where we didn't provide enough detail. Can't say enough good things about our experience!

If you are from the East Coast, especially PA or Upstate NY, you will have a taste of home visiting here. They carry many brands and flavors that you won't find in Texas. Birch beer, Old World Chips, New Hope Mill dry goods, and Amish / Mennonite style baked goods.

Road trip worth taking to South Forth Worth down 35, just past Grandview in the quiet town of Itasca. Humble Christian owners serve fresh, quality deli meats and large array of cheeses on homemade bread. Bulk items include spices, extracts, baking goods, and chocolate dipped goodies. Jalapeño cheese, pizza bread will tempt you and if that is not enough, fresh fried pies in many varieties, lemon chess, brownies, cookies, and loaves to delight in fresh apple and pumpkin. You can also pick up preserves and fresh bulk butter and make a meal. Your kids will like the ghost town square to run around while you enjoy the slow life past the hustle and bustle of city life.

The sandwiches from the deli are solid. It's $8 but it's a least a pound. I'll definitely stop here anytime I'm hungry and passing through.

Best sandwiches ever! Fresh bread and meats - plus these are hardy sandwiches too! Great for a working man or woman. Service is outstanding; order your sandwich, pay for it and sit down - then you are served. Ambiance is rather low key - the shop is clean, lots of food stuffs on the shelves, baking goods, wonderful breads, etc. Lots of choices here!
