I can't say enough great stuff. This art studio is beautiful and the owner and staff are so warm and welcoming! I did a workshop today and it was a blast. The instructions were clear and helpful. We learned history behind the trade. We got to watch demonstrations then got to do so much art ourselves. The whole class was having a great time. You really got to explore your inner artist and no previous skill required. The studio has so many artistic options. They do workshops and classes. They also have space for private events and can do private classes with friends or company events. Great company team building idea. What a gem! FYI the location has moved so make sure to check website.

From classes to do-it-yourself, this shop has your art needs covered. They owners are so sweet and very creative. They teach classes big and small fit for any skill level and any age. They work with multiple mediums and seems like they're always offering something new. Their storefront is filled with papers and paints and clays, canvas and gifts. This whimsical shop is just what every neighborhood should have, a place that cares about and fosters the appreciation and expression of art in our kids (and those who are young at heart).

Went to Cotton and Oil for a workshop, thru my employer, team building type activity. The young ladies there were very nice. The shop was very artsy. Shannon who was our instructor was VERY patient and polite. She had to deal with about 15 adults, who had no artistic qualities and talked too much.She was also very encouraging, which made us more enthusiastic. My painting has made its Facebook debut.

This is an incredible, multi-faceted artist collective. They offer classes and workshops for kids and adults in a huge variety of arts and crafts. They sell art supplies and finished, hand-made goods. There is a pop-up shop every winter where they offer items like jewelry, prints, and even furniture made by local artisans. This establishment is an asset to the community, and I can't understand why I'm the first to review it! One of my favorite places in Dallas.

I visited Oil and Cotton for a Big Brothers Big Sisters private event. It is such a neat little place. The shop area has very unique art supplies and the studio is so fun! It's very bright and welcoming. We worked on three different craft activities while at Oil and Cotton. My little sister loved all of them and was very entertained with the painting and jewelry making. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

What an amazing space. Our daughter has taken classes here for over a year and she just loves it. The shop is wonderful and always has the perfect supplies for inspiration. We love having this store and the owners in our community.

~~~~In regards to classes: We have been bringing our 9yr old daughter here as much as possible. I love how they have weekday classes during school year. The Spring & Summer camps are also a must. She always makes friends in the neighborhood & the staff are so sweet to her. We live close in the area & are very happy to have a place like this close to home. If we ever move to a different city this would definitely be in "the places I miss/ the best things about raising kids in Dallas" list. ~~~~In regards to retail: it is a small shop but full of possibilities. They have variety and a great selection. I suggest everyone to shop here first before anyone else. Every art retailer is either corporate, even if local they are rude or lack customer service. You will be a much happier person shopping here for art supplies. Plus there's amazing delicious coffee next door. It's a no brainer. Buy supplies then have coffee w/ a book , journal or sketchbook. ~~~~
