Whoa! I'm surprised at all of the negative reviews for this location. It looks like some reviewers find the "feisty" staff a little off putting but that's just part of this location's charm!For example, on my most recent visit, the lady at the counter said "I'm 'bout to leave" and I responded "We'll you can just go ahead and take my order before you do". I just love my delightful banter with the staff! Good times :-)Now as for the food: it's delish! I'm a Texas-born, brisket-eating BBQ connoisseur and the brisket at Odom's is some of the best around. Smokey, moist and full of flavor. Their other offerings (chicken, ribs, etc.) are good but I normally just stick with the brisket.As others have mentioned, there's nothing really standout about the sides but you don't go to Odom's for sides! You go for a magnificent feast fit for the hungriest of carnivores! Yum!

This place of business is very unprofessional.. Didn't not greet me..Girl talk the phn, an taking my order.. First time eating here. Asked a question abt the menu an was made like I was disturbing her. Then proceed to tell me that the menu is not accurate.. ribb sandwich was horrible all fat.. 32.00 for a sandwich an dozen east Texas hot links... NEVER AGAIN CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING!! I can deal with bad fool but not bad customer service an bad food...Not to mention I drove 30mins to get me an some coworkers food.

The brisket is good, not great. The ribs are very good. Portions are very good too. The bbq sauce is also good. It's good food. The potato with brisket is also good. As an overall the food here is good,Not great

The ribs was like your basic Albertson's $10 ribs and they was dry they over soaked everything with barbecue sauce like they put a pull a barbecue sauce over everything like why can I have the barbecue sauce on the side come on now they didn't have a lot of stuff like I couldn't get a hot link on the side I would have to get a hot links sandwich like what the heck come on dude you're in Texas your barbecue barbecue home of Texas do your meat right or don't do it at all

This is your sign not to come to this restaurant‼The food is school cafeteria grade at best. This was our first and last visit especially since the cashier was very short in her responses and impolite. One of the items, the "brisket" sandwich had soggy buns and was unappetizing. I have NEVER written a review before on Yelp, but unsuspecting customers NEED to know. Let me tell you who DOES sell great bbq with excellent customer service within a mile radius: Smokey D's and Coulter's Bbq, both on Camp Wisdom Rd. You're welcome!!

I do not recommend the Duncanville location to anyone. The customer service is TERRIBLE. No one greets you as you enter the establishment. You have to wait for their conversations to end before you're assisted. The lady who take food orders yelled at me Apparently, she was having a bed day. Not everyone wants an argument or altercation especially not over food when there are so many other options to choose from. However it's never ok to yell at a customer. They must argue with their customers on a regular basiis. I cancelled my order and left. I always try to support black owned business but I will never return. The quality of food has also declined. For good food, recommend going to Pappa's or Records. The food and customer service is the best. Should've went to PAPPAS . This place was closer to my employer.

I went to Odoms Barbecue today Tusday Aug 27,2024 around 4:45 pm , customer service was very bad I mean horrible customer service , not sure if the short man the owner but he was very rude know professionalism at all , eating and chewing cantaloupe , talking with food in his mouth , would not answer questions with good communication, all over just a bad experience, when I spoke up about customer service , he refused my services . Which was find with me , because I'm not spend my money where bad customer service and not wanted . People want know why so many black business fail , it starts with owners first , one thing for sure I'm a customer I can shop where I choose and Odoms barbecue is not one my choices .

Horrible customer service, come in for lunch during my work day. The lady at the counter wouldn't take my Debit card cause it had my wife's name on it, guessing they are rich cause they didn't want my money. RUDE Rude rude do not recommend this shit hole to anyone. Definitely won't be getting my business

According to who's working that day. Sometimes, the customer service is ridiculous. The food is fine bit the cs is enough to make you say it's not worth it.
