We had my son's birthday party here, and it was a great location for that many teenagers to go relax, be goofy, and celebrate. The owner and staff were friendly and the party package was way more reasonable that the other bowling alleys around in the other cities nearby. The bowling league was sweet next to us, and politely gave the boys tips to improve their game. It is a classic alley without any pomp and circumstance. Just good, traditional bowling fun. Lord willing, we'll be back.

Fantastic find in Mineral Wells. The staff is great and the new lanes upgraded this venue from fun spot to must bowl. I love these smaller non-chain, private run establishments. If you are looking for the latest high tech amenities and laser tag in the side room, this isn't it. But if you like bowling with owners who love to bowl in an old school setup, this is the place to be!

Visited the bowling alley this past weekend on Sat. 25th with my grandson Logan. We had such a fun time! We bowled, shot some pool and ate while we were there. We also met a cute Jr. League young man by the name of Zack who introduced himself and kept checking on us to make sure we were having a great time. Everyone was so helpful in every department! We will certainly be back again! Rhonda BillsRanger, Tx

I seriously doubt anyone would specifically come to Mineral Wells on purpose - unless you were tricked with some mind altering drugs. But should you happen to end up here as a resident, or a guest, you have VERY limited options for socializing, and entertainment. I've already reviewed "The Dog House" so with that I'm sure you'll steer clear of that fine establishment. Most people in Mineral Wells drink heavily as their main form of entertainment, or just because they're thirsty, really they dont need a reason to drink its just what they do. DWI is another favorite pass time. I personally dont suggest this. Porch sitting is the next best form of entertainment..... but slightly less amusing unless you live in the SW part of town, at Crawford Apts, Country Club Estates, or one of the MANY trailer parks - then porch sitting could be the ticket to hours of entertainment.... light show provided courtesy of MWPD at no charge. But when its date night, or the fellas have talked you into joining a bowling league then your new home away from home will be the Bowling Alley... When this day comes, you'll know you've arrived. However please note that regular patrons of the bowling alley automatically forfeit the possibility of EVER being allowed membership at the almighty Holiday Hills Country Club - its just impossible to hold both memberships or even one member cavort with a member of the other said establishment so choose your entertainment carefully..... Once your snubbed in Mineral Wells - by the wanna-be's or cronies and old money out at the Country Club - its like being blackballed for LIFE! They keep a secret list that is passed down, I've been told.... I happen to love "the bowling alley" because they have somewhat new lanes - no more then 15 yr old - which is new... basically. I dont suggest renting shoes here, bring you own if possible and of course if your brave enough to be out and about with the locals, then your defiantly brave enough to eat at the grill here at the bowling alley - they have a great burger, and concession stand style food that's sure to please. The best part of the bowling alley is unlike much of the other entertainment (listed below) THEY HAVE BEER FOR YOU ALREADY!! If bowling isn't your thing.... that leaves you with these options, listed in no particular order... Choose wisely my friend; choose wisely.. 1. Mountaineer Lanes Bowling (highly recommended) 2. The Brazos Cinema - with its whopping 3 theaters - bring beer 3. A multitude of churches - all different denominations all equally entertaining - bring beer (Mormon and Jehovah's Witness are the best) 4. The duck pond out at Woodland Park Cemetery - yes this is considered entertainment - bring beer 5. A handful of other bars that are slightly less scary then The Dog House 6. The City Park - over looked by the trailer park 'round back. - bring beer 7. Bingo at the VFW - bring cash 8. Wal-Mart - if you've never been to WalMart in a hick town - your in for a real treat. Make sure to take your video camera, you could be the next star on youtube with the video footage. - bring beer 9. The City Carwash - yes the carwash doubles as a social gathering place in Mineral Wells, when you've ran out of gas from cruising "the drag" all night. - bring beer 10. Sitting out at the Brazos River - bring beer 11. Cow Tipping - this will provide hours of entertainment - bring beer 12. Snipe Hunting - You'll need a guide but any local will be happy to assist - bring beer. 13. Any laundry mat - will provide hours of entertainment as well - bring beer14. Last but not least - Lions Park - its called something else now, and is chained up, and its illegal to enter, but should you feel ballsy and dare enter the sacred grounds - be ready to have the holy $HIT scared of you... this place is HAUNTED and a dangerous place - but fun when you've already drank lots of beer and exhausted all other entertainment options here in the beautiful city of Mineral Wells. Dont worry if you go to jail for trespassing, public drunkenness, DWI, lewdness, disorderly conduct, public nudity, or any number of things DONT WORRY Fudgie (local bail bondsmen) WILL get ANYONE out - besides jail is one of the very BEST sources of entertainment so ENJOY! (Beer provided at jail for a nominal fee)

What year was Mountaineer Lanes built? I remember it from the 60's, it must have been at least the 50's. Mom told me there use to be a two-lane bowling ally in front of the Baker Hotel. Back in the 60's Mac Taylor ran it, his son Bo Taylor was a short kid with a 200+ average. I think Deborah Peoples bowled leagues with my sisters & me in the 60's, she's most likely going to be the next mayor of Fort Worth. I missed my Saturday mornings for Saturday leagues but we would sometimes top the day off with curly fries at Jones Drive-in across town.
