There's lots of pictures of the university's history in the concourse. Fun to walk around and explore.
Kinda cool being seated directly across the court from the 43rd US president & Mrs. Bush. #DubyaTime

This is such a nice clean campus and very well put together gym. Only thing I would change is the seating. I'm a taller/bigger guy and the seats felt like they were on top of each other . Other than that, the bathrooms were clean and well kept. The DJ played some nice songs and the Jumbotron was pretty easy to read and visible . The crowd itself was a little dead which I don't understand . The team itself could've benefited from the crowd being more involved and personally I think would've beat the team by a better margin on this occasion. Parking was easy, although I did park a ways to benefit from free parking. Overall fun experience , I enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Nice big auditorium for my son's graduation and Basketball games. Easy access for wheelchairs. The entire place was very enjoyable and so nice to have a graduation inside as i have been to several that are outside and dependent on the weather.

For a building that was built in 1956, I can't really complain too much at all about Moody Coliseum. The arena is remarkably renovated and doesn't feel old at all. The seating capacity is about 10,000, yet feels smaller than that. For those that have had the opportunity to visit Duke University's Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, NC, Moody Coliseum looks and feels eerily similar on the outside, as well as inside somewhat. The difference is that Moody is far more updated.Tickets can be easily picked up at Will Call on the left side of the front entrance. There are two major levels: 100 (lower) & 200 (upper). The 200 level on the side opposite the players benches seems to have club level seats at the very top. For SMU games, tickets can range from $20 for the 100 level, and $15 for the 200 level. Obviously, tickets may be less expensive if students have their ID, as well as senior citizens, active duty military, etc.Parking at the arena was efficient getting in, yet a bit time consuming getting out. I have no idea why there was only one exit gate open on the first level of the parking garage as opposed to two. Major gridlock that is completely unnecessary. Parking seems to usually be $10. This parking garage is within 50 meters of the coliseum, so the walk to the front entry is easy.SMU strongly enforces the bag/big purse policy, as do all NCAA & professional sporting events nationwide. Don't be surprised if security turns your lady away from bringing in a large purse. It seems as if they won't check it- security just won't let you in. All in the name of safety, so it is what it is, folks.Overall, SMU has done a remarkable job making an old venue a desirable one to watch an event at with its modern updates. Although my team lost badly to the Mustangs on 12/16/15, the fans & arena staff were respectful in making the in-game experience pleasant.PS: It's also pretty cool to see two national treasures show their continued support for Dallas area college & professional sports (I really like one's regality & style). SMU regulars know exactly who I'm alluding to. :)

I am a huge fan of Moody Coliseum. It is big enough to be significant and small enough to be intimate. Originally built in 1956 under the name of SMU Coliseum, this 7000 seat areana is home to the Southern Methodist University Mustangs Basketball Team. It is a multi-purpose event center and in addition to basketball games it hosts concerts, camps, tennis tournaments, and graduation ceremonies.

Love this place for basketball games!! Not only are games fun to watch, but the Jumbotrons def make it easier to watch if you're sitting far away. It's easy to find seats and if you have trouble, there's lots of different people that can help you find your seat.#PonyUp

Home of the SMU Mustangs basketball teams and women's volleyball team. Regularly nationally recognized, all three programs are a great opportunity to see student-athletes in action. The men's basketball games are regularly selling out with Larry Brown at the helm. Just check the SMU athletics website for details, tickets, and schedules. #PonyUp

The renovation they did on this facility is a HUGE improvement. It still has a bit of a cold/grey look and feel but it's better than the previous dated look. There's plenty of bathrooms around every corner. There's also a pro shop at the front when you walk in. If you're there for an event during the summer, doors lock at 9. Be sure not to leave anything behind or you won't be able to get back in till 8am the next morning. During the summer they leave the parking garage next door open and free of charge!

This venue is such a nice place to go. Since the remodel in 2014, this has been the place everyone wants to have an excuse to go. For SMU Men's basketball, there is so much excitement it's a really cool atmosphere. The video boards are all over and really nice. The main video board hangs down over the court and is pretty high def. They do sone fun stuff like kiss cam during the game. They also usually give away t-shirts and pizzas. SMU spared no expenses in the finishing touches on this place. The bathrooms are very clean. The colored lights during the games are really fun too - red, blue, ponies, and SMU. Oh and President Bush (#43) went to about half the basketball games in 2015/2016 season and sits courtside next to the University President. Also we see Tony Romo and Jason Garret on occasion. They do serve beer now during games. I wish they had more in the way of tacos but they have hamburgers, nachos, candy etc.

This review is limited to speaking events at Moody. I recently bought tickets to hear his Holiness, the Dalai Lama, speak. My friend and I were so excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We didn't even care that our seats were all the way in the nosebleed section.First hiccup: there were large TV screens near the stage so those in the back, who can't see anything on the stage, could at least look at the screens. Well, there were flags/banners hanging from the ceiling that obstructed our view of ALL screens. :o| Whatever, I came to listen to the Dalai Lama, so I was fine with not being able to see him. Then he spoke. And my friend and I looked at each other... neither of us could understand a word of what he was saying (Okay, I understood about 15 to 20 percent of what he was saying). The Dalai Lama spoke with a heavy accent, but the terrible acoustics made it nearly impossible to understand him. The moderator was the well-known journalist, Cokie Roberts, who spoke perfect English. I understood what she said, but could not ignore the terrible acoustics and often found myself listening extra carefully so I didn't miss what she said. I wasn't sure if it was just us at first. Throughout the talk, however, I noticed that the audience in the front laughed and clapped at all the appropriate moments... while those in the back remained silent, unable to understand what was being said.Who knows, maybe Moody is awesome for sporting events. But I'm mind-boggled by the decision-makers who thought it would be a good venue for a speaking event like this.

Completely awful. If you want to go to a game with the elite of Big D and the obnoxious smu students i guess youre in luck, but otherwise, expect garbage.Tickets for the good shows and games here never actually go on sale. Its pathetic. I guess its a private university, thats great, but im seriously dissapointed.
