Mi Cocina

We came in during the recent storm. we were staying in a nearby hotel and it was one of the only restaurants open. When we arrived at 4 pm we were the second couple in the restaurant. Our waitress Rosa sat us in a booth/chair table but it was wobbly so we moved to the next table. We were happy that the table was in eyesight of the Texas game we could see on the TV at the bar.Rosa got our drink order and we ordered Ceviche ans a half order of nachos Locos beef.The food arrived quickly, but we did have to wait a minute or two to get our water refilled.Overall good experience, good price ($28.00 before tip) and good exerience.

Lunches are very good. Jenn is kind and on top of it The lunch specials are where it's at plus you get a free chips and salsa, which is always a win. #5 is great 15 coconuts

I dined at Mi Cocina on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 7 pm. I came with a large group of about 16 people and they were able to accommodate us after a reservation was made in advance. The restaurant was very busy, but I did not experience any issues with the service. With a large group, I was surprised with how attentive my server was with refilling waters, and taking orders. Everyone's dish came out nearly the same time. I had the Mama's Chicken con Hongos. This was a pretty big portion. The chicken was a flavorful, but a little bit dry. I enjoyed the large mushrooms that came with this dish. I also got to sample the ceviche, which tasted fresh and balanced. Overall, I had a nice experience at Mi Cocina even though it was a little tight. The service was exceptional and the food was decent.

Went to Mi Cocina due to work travel. The bar tender was great and made us great margaritas! It was nice and the food was decent. It looked very clean from the bar area.

Stopped by Mi Cocina for a quick lunch, and it seems to be quite a popular lunch spot! I ordered the tacos habana lunch (comes with 2 tacos), a side of guacamole, and the chicken & rice soup. I love how they provide every table with chips & salsa - the salsa is delicious, and the chips are still nice and warm. The chicken & rice soup came piping hot and was prob my fave of the 2. It was really flavorful, well portioned, and tasty! The tacos habana were good, but I've definitely had better. I opted for the corn tortilla upon a recommendation from the staff but the tortilla was so hard in some places it was almost inedible. The chicken was decent - flavors were good and not dry. The arroz verde and the salad were nothing to write home about though.Service was kind and fast. Really appreciate how the check is payable via phone, which allows you to get in and out quickly.

Staff was great! We had a booth and there was a table with people blocking one end of the booth so that was a little strange, but not a huge deal! Food was spicy but savory and delicious! Margs are always 10/10

It was a beautiful night and I chose to sit outside, but walking through the restaurant I appreciated the interior and would have been very happy inside as well. The hostess was very nice and my server Juan S. was friendly and attentive. I asked him about various items and I felt that he gave me honest opinions based on his tastes as well as customer feedback. I had to go with the brisket tacos and they were a good choice, delicious. 3 brisket tacos, a nice side salad and tasty rice. Chips and salsa were good. The salsa was medium to hot.

They close at 9pm now on Sundays even though Yelp still says 10pm but I know that's up to the manager/owner to fix so no big deal. Every single Mi Cocina location always does such a great job, both in food and service. They have the lighting down perfectly so it's a perfect date night spot in my opinion. Their Mambo Taxi's are so good but so strong so drink responsibly. They usually limit them to 2 per person. My top three favorites are their Sunset Fajitas, nachos and tortilla soup which I like to add Tabasco to. Yum!No matter what location you choose, you won't be disappointed. Only reason it's 4 and not 5 stars is just a minor thing that doesn't need to be mentioned.

This place has definitely changed since our last visit. We stopped by on Halloween and there were many available tables. We were seated outdoors and after 20 minutes my husband had to check with the hostess to see if anyone would be helping us. Several waiters and waitresses had passed by and no one even acknowledged us. We were only the third party outdoors. Finally the manager took our drink orders and he also took our food order. Once our actual waiter came by, he still wasn't attentive. I could have accepted the bad service if at least the food and drinks were great, however, they were both disappointing. I think this place depends on their name not the quality of their food and drinks anymore. Go spend your money elsewhere.
