I was craving some Lao food recently and found Manee Thai Cuisine & Bar close by! They actually had a little menu dedicated to some authentic Lao dishes that are usually hard to find unless you visit to a Lao family house. We ended up trying their mok pa (steamed fish wrapped in banana leaves, packed with herbs), nam khao (crispy rice salad with cured pork), and khao piak sen (tapioca/rice noodle soup). Everything was great! I loved being able to customize my spice levels with the peppers and chili oil they included. I actually added too much chili oil bc sometimes the restaurants don't give you enough heat, but dang the flavors were on point!!! The nam khao was so good, I recommend that to everyone. It is crispy, savory, and a great portion. So good we had to go back in the same week.I was happy to see their restaurant filled with customers when we went to pick up our food. They deserve the business! Plus, the servers were really nice. Will need to dine in next time since it looks cozy and I was eyeing their cocktail menu lol.

I've been on a mission since coming to Dallas. That mission is finding good Asian establishments! Today was the day!!! The Google and yelp gods answered my prayers! I've been looking for good Thai and Laos food. Manee was it! Each dish I had ordered I was amazed! Everything was fresh! Bold flavors! Nothing was lacking! Almost like i ate in Asia, I left not feeling bloated and satisfied! They had just opened up their newer location at the colony. But I knew I had Togo to the O.G spot and I'm glad i did.Service was phenomenal! Very accommodating and attentive. Had to orders Togo papaya and Lao salad with sauce in the side so I can dig into it later! Restaurant is pretty spacious also looked like they had a full bar. I'll be back and I'll be telling everyone this is a must go to place! They even have pho! Have to try that next time. If you've ever dined with me you know I can get a little carried away on ordering and I am not shy about it. Also not shy for leftover especially at a place that was great! I can eat it all over again at home! Win win! I loved that they had pork blood! Haven't been able to find that here only one other spot at a Vietnamese spot in Richardson. Also for note: they have a kids menu! So really no excuse not to try them out. They have it all!

A nope for me . Friendly service but this is probably the worse Thai I had in Dallas . The rice used seemed cheap kinda tough. The pad Thai was oddly watery . The shoulder fried rice was ok . Not coming back.

Y'all. I cannot make this up! This place will make you wanna visit Laos. The food is so authentic. We ordered the Papaya salad Lao style, Crying Tiger, Khao Poon and kids fried rice with beef. Starting with the crying tiger it was a ribeye so juicy filled with umami flavors cooked to perfection. It comes with a dipping sauce that compliments the dish so well. The Papaya salad (Lao style) tastes like mama made it in the back! Full of flavor and spice. Eaten with the beef it was a chefs kiss! The beef kids fried was a huge portion filled with carrots and peas and LOTS of beef. Last but not least the Khao Poon. I have not tasted a better Khao poon in a long time (since living in Seattle) and this by far is filled with just the right amount of galangal and spices and curry. There was a generous amount of chicken in it together with noodles this was the best dish by far. I highly suggest this dish! We went during the lunch hour and the ambience was still relaxing and we didn't feel rushed. Our waiter VK was absolutely patient and helpful in getting us the right sauces for each dish and explained what was in each item menu. Alvin the waiter also checked on us from time to time to see if we needed anything. I was surprised about the attentiveness between these two waiters. Do ask for them when you come in! You will have the best service, I promise. Overall, If you love Lao Thai food and outstanding service come here asap!

For semi authentic Thai food, this place is pretty good.Ambiance: big and clean interiorService has always been good. Food: overall it's good. I think the appetizers are better than the mains I've had here.+ Papaya salad is bomb+ Tom kha ka is good+ Excellent spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce+ Raw shrimp was interesting and very flavorful= Pho was just ok. Short rib was kinda chewy. = Thai Basil pork was a bit too sweet

8/31/24 around 12PM Saturday. Visiting my hubby's bff in Frisco, Texas and decided to eat brunch here. First thing, I noticed was the aesthetics of the restaurant. BEAUTIFUL! Has an asian- clean- feel with modern setting because of the bar area. Love their booth seatings! I'm honest wih my reviews and in my perspective, they were too attentive. It made me feel like they were watching every move we made. For example, when we got there, our waiter (guy) asked us twice if we were ready to order. The interval of asking was pretty short. First time here and they have a lot of entrees on their menu which can be a bit overwhelming. I needed time to figure it out. One lady came out to ask if we were ready and I was finally ready. I did like how the lady asked how our food was and she said if I liked the sauce and to smother the chicken with it. In which I did =) My husband was finished with his dish but there were a few pieces of beef/lettuce and side salad left on his plate, a different lady staff asked politely if my hubby was done. I told her nicely, I was still working on it. She said, sorry nicely and then left. Then, maybe after 5 minutes or so, same lady came out with water to ask if we wanted more water. My husband said yes please. She, also, asked again if she can take my husband's plate away. There wasn't any beef left, but there was still the side salad that I was working on. I just said, yes cause I'm kind of getting irritated at this point lol. She saw me sipping my soup, so she didn't ask to take my plate away. My husband asked for the check. I was almost finished with my soup, then the guy came out with the curry that we ordered to go and asked us if we were finished and took my soup as he was asking. I wasn't finished with my soup, but I said yes because he already took it in his hands. I was kind of frustrated at this point. I felt rushed and the conversations I was having with my husband kept getting cut off. I understand the staff's true intentions of wanting to make sure we were ok and wanting to help us. I want to emphasize the staff had genuine smiles, very nice and polite. Just tone it down on the attentiveness and maybe 1 server is better than 4 servers. The restaurant wasn't busy, so I didn't feel like I needed to eat and leave asap.4/5 stars. $13.99+ Hainanese Chicken: steamed chicken with rice, cucumber, cilantro and soup, served with home made special sauce.- chicken is dry and no flavor, but that's ok because the sauce and the soup makes up for it. I love that the soup is light and fresh! Never tried this flavor of sauce before. I didn't taste it well enough to figure out the ingredients but it was pretty delicious. Mos def added flavor to the chicken. Rice was buttery-like and soft.. delicious!5/5 stars. $17.00+ Tiger Cry: grilled marinated rib-eye steak, served with spicy tamarind sauce. - BEEF FLAVOR, JUICY-NESS AND TEXTURE WAS PHENOMENAL!!! Not a fond of the tamarind sauce but good enough to kind of give a mild spicy kick to the beef. Would get this again if I lived out here.Happy eat's ya'll =)
