Stopped by this place on Sunday after reading the reviews on yelp. We're in town on a sports trip. The place was packed but we were seated pretty quickly. My husband had the Gringo, which he really liked and said the salsa that came with the chips was one of the best he's ever had. I had the barbacoa plate. The beans and rice were really good, but the barbacoa was not cooked the way I had expected it to be. I thought it would come in a red chile broth, like I was used to, but instead it was almost black. It had a decent flavor, but because I'm used to barbacoa being cooked a different way, I didn't care for it that much. The corn tortillas were quite thin but ok. They bring you a huge bowl of chips which is way too much for 2 people. The menu is quite varied and the service is outstanding.

Our family loves Los Molcajetes. The food is consistently delicious and the most authentic in the area. Its atmosphere is family friendly and adult friendly at the same time. You can bring your family for a delicious meal, or friends for a few drinks and dinner! We have been coming here for a few years now and have never encountered less than excellent service. 10 out of 10 recommend.

This is a secret gem. It's located inside of La Gran Plaza. I've been here a few times and every time I tend to get the carne asada tacos. Even though I always say I'm going to get something different. If you plan to eat here do not come on lunch hours or peak hours on the weekend. The seating is limited with about seven tables. When you walk in you will be offered a table (if one is open). If you plan on taking your order to go, let them know. There's seating for to go orders in the front of these small restaurant. This carne asada is so much better than any I've had at "fancy" Mexican restaurants. Word to the wise: if you're paying $20 for a plate of Mexican food, chances are, it's fake. If you plan on paying with a credit card, $5 is the minimum. If you're Spanish is none to limited then you'll have a little trouble here since Spanish is the primary language. If you need help ordering let me know. I got you!

I love Mexican cuisine. Being that I'm new to Texas, I thought this would be an easy find. Me and my grandson got to Los Molcajetes and ordered. We were starving. He ordered Chicken Fajitas while I chose to sample the chicken chimichangas. First we started off with queso fundido. This is a staple appetizer that I cannot seem to like outside of my favorite restaurant in Virginia. It was like cheese fondu with pieces of meat. Not so good. The chimichanga didn't satisfy my palate. The fajitas were good though. The chips and spicy salsa was delicious. The margarita had a light punch. I'll be in Texas awhile so the search goes on.

This place is really good. It's more of a Tex-Mex restaurant but I like it. The food servings were really large we had to take most of ours home. The waitress was really nice and the place looked clean. It took a while for them to take our order but once they did the food arrived pretty quick. Today was my second time at Los Molcajetes (previously went to their Keller location) but I ordered the exact same thing. Their food is flavorful but the only complaints I have is their piña colada, it had almost no alcohol in it. It literally tasted like I was drinking a piña colada slurpee. Also, their chips they take you when you first arrive they were so thin they broke every time I dipped them in the salsa. Other than that I see myself coming here again.

I have been coming here regularly since I started working in one of the adjacent buildings in 2014, and eventually decided to add it to Yelp (though I am just now writing a review). This is a family owned and operated business, and the staff are all very friendly and willing to give you suggestions or recommendations if you are having a hard time deciding what to choose. They have a salsa bar with options made on-site, and they don't police you if you happen to like a lot of sauce. :-)My "regular" order is the chile relleno plate, and I can always count on it to be tasty. The fresh juices are also a favorite, but I get one of the aguas frescas more often. The flavors offered can vary daily based on what is in season, but the horchata is consistently delicious. They also offer cactus and dishes that incorporate it, which I haven't seen in many quick service establishments, so if you have been looking for it, look no further.

Chicken enchiladas had no flavor, the sour cream sauce was lumpy and tasted like flour. It use to be really good until they changed cooks. Thought i would try it again, but still no good. I wont be back, Wish I knew where the old cook went.

This place is cheap and very tasty! It's inside La Gran Plaza, so it can get busy. That doesn't stop them from being pretty fast once you place your order.
