Food is sometimes good most times it's just okay, example sometimes the bean burritos will have chorizo and or taste like meat. Service is good as long as they have an attendant that knows the food and menu. Place is nice but everything else is not consistent and prices are a bit high.

I ordered tamales and a breakfast chorizo burrito to go, and the burrito was inedible. I took one bite and spit it out. It tasted like it was days old and the eggs had been reheated did not taste fresh at all not to mention there was not even any cheese or anything in the burrito. Waste of money don't recommend this place.

I love this place, and the food is great, unfortunately, sometimes people have a hard time.I went from 5 stars to 3 stars on my last review. My previous review of 3 stars was wrong because it was based on an employees having a bad day, but the situation has been corrected, so I'm giving them 5 stars again.Looking forward to more menudo and tamales, the best tamales in Arlington.

This place used to be great. It was one of the few places for authentic Mexican food in the area. Since the new owner took over, the food is disgusting.Ordered the Chile Verde Plate as I have for years. When I opened it up at home, it was a pile of shredded beef. There was no pork, no potatoes, no guisado. It tasted like spicy barbacoa. I took one bite and spit it out. On top of that, the refried beans had a strange taste and tasted old. There were also no tortillas included with the plate. Absolute garbage! Also ordered 3 breakfast tacos; papa con chorizo. Received egg instead. It seems the employees can't follow directions and give you what you order or they changed their recipes. Under the previous owner, this place was a gem. When I commented on the changes in decor, the new owner told me they would be even better. They aren't. Now it is lousy. Don't waste your money here. $25 down the drain.

This review is based solely on the tamales. When I visit a new Mexican restaurant, the first question I ask is, "Do you make the tamales here?". The answer at La Popular was, "Yes, my mom makes them at home." Not the first place that's told me that, and it's my absolute favorite answer. Knowing how much time and real estate it takes to make tamales, I'm not surprised that they're made off-site.Anyway, my wife's birthday was coming up and I was looking to buy enough tamales for a group of 10-14 people. I went by and bought one of each type (pork, chicken, poblano/cheese) to try, and truthfully, these were some of the best tamales that I've ever eaten, and I grew up in San Antonio. Straight out of the husk, no chili, no cheese, no salsa, just right into my mouth. Perfection at about $14/dozen.I ended up buying a dozen of each (you have to order them by Wednesday at closing time in order to be guaranteed to get them Friday/Saturday). The pork and poblano/cheese were the big hits at the party, and that's no disrespect to the chicken. The location itself is small, located in a strip center around Silo/Sublette in Arlington. There's seating inside for about three groups. Appears that a lot of their menu is intended for on-the-go/quick lunch. Last time I was there, there were two groups of landscaping crews inside; that's a testament to me of good food quick and cheap. I interacted with two staff (Manager and a young lady in her 20's) who were both incredibly helpful and friendly, especially considering how hot it was inside. They have a whole list of offerings from breakfast to lunch, and I'm looking forward to going back to try more.A friend tells me that this is where he buys his tortillas for at home, as they make them fresh right there in the front of the store.

Ok. How can I say this? (Deep Sigh)! So, this place is convenient to my workplace. Many people in the neighborhood gave it rave reviews. So, a few of us decided to carry out for lunch ordering street Tacos. When the food arrived, I was totally disappointed in the presentation of the food, and the taste of meat. There were 3 street tacos w/ tasteless beef. They didn't provide cilantro and onions as a courtesy. I went back . The cashier says you have to as ask for review garnishes. I went home to bring back chipotle seasoning sprinkling it on my meat. I'll take my own lunch next time.

I used to go here regularly but when you call in the morning the phone never works. Then when I called to tell the manager he didn't care at all and was very rude. Sucks cause I spend a lot of money at this place.

I come here often and wanted to share that I always have a positive experience here. The food is good and tasty and their tortillas are delicious. They always get my food out to me quickly and it's amazing every time. I love their breakfast burritos, specifically chorizo egg and cheese. Keep doing what y'all are doing! Amazing place.
