Koji Sushi - Denton

I had been following Koji on Instagram and wanted to try them. I finally had a chance and was greeted upon entering. The restaurant was so cute and nicely decorated. I wanted to place an order to go and escorted to a table to sit and look over the menu options. I specifically asked if they had riceless rolls and was pleasantly surprised they had many options.My order consisted of the following:Flying Fish Roe (Tobiko) not riceless but love the tobiko! Vegetable Tempura was hot and freshNow for the riceless rolls:Chef's Special - 4 kinds of fish, crab, Japanese carrots, asparagus, avocado, wrapped in cucumber and tobigo with pozu sauce.Butterfly Kiss, spicy - special crab wrapped in salmon with ponzu sauce with avocado. Spring Roll - tuna, whitefish, crab, asparagus, avocado, mango, lettuce, cilantro, wrapped in rice paper with a sweet chili sauce.Caribbean Roll - yummy salmon, tuna, crab, avocado, asparagus, mango,and yamagobo in rice paper. Everything was so good without all of the carbs from the rice. While waiting, I was given the cutie rolls to try. So tasty.I had enough for 3 meals. They did a decent amount of to-go orders when I was waiting and started to get busy with dine in patrons. A great neighborhood find. Will definitely be back.

Food wise, it's decent... there are better places in Denton to eat sushi. Their pricing leaves A LOT to be desired... my fish katsu was just slightly better than a filet'o-fish from McDonalds but at almost $15 bucks, you might want to just go to McDonalds. $3+ for hot tea is also a bit absurd as well... it's just tea guys... service was ok, although I had to ask for water 3 times before it showed up (I was afraid they would've charged me another $3+ for a tea refill)... my kids chicken katsu was dry, the sushi was decent but again over priced. The only thing this place had going for it was the decor which was inviting and modern.

KOJI SUSHI04/19/24Me and my Grandson had lunch here and as was the last time it was awesome. Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. I had made my mind up that next time I came here I was going to have appetizers for my meal so that is what I did! My grandson had The Tempura Udon! Noodle soup with thick wheat noodles, crunchy shrimp tempura, and chopped shallots/scallions with Dashi-based broth. We shared:Heart Attack - Deep fried jalapeño with crab, cream cheese. Monkey Head - Deep fried mushroom w spicy tuna, crabCrab Monster - Deep fried crab, cream cheese, jalapeño with Wonton. Cutie Roll - Special crab, avocado wrapped In cucumber with ponzu sauceFood was freshly prepared and served hot. Flavors were great. I can't make my mind up on my favorite item!All were very flavorful and delicious. We will be back!

Came here for my birthday lunch. Service was friendly and the place was beautifully decorated. I got the vegetable hibachi and my husband got two rolls. They gave us cities to try and they were delicious. My husband love his rolls. My hibachi was good. We will definitely be back.

Not bad for my first time here! Sushi was really appetizing. Walked in during the week for lunch and it was not packed at all with opening seating. This place is fairly new so staff were very attentive. Would check it out again.

Most of the roll recipes had a similar base profile. The ambiance is really good and I liked everything they had to offer. The price is also really fair and includes a salad right when you sit down.

Fast, friendly service and a variety of other dishes on the menu that most places around Denton do not have. Hubby and I walked in, seated immediately. They're fairly new and have a parent restaurant in Plano/Richardson. We started with some sake - and other drinks, the White Tuna Tadaki, shrimp Shumai, miso and salads.Everything came out quickly! I was surprised about how good the Tadaki was and really could've ordered that as my entree. Each lovely piece had a little pile of crunchy fried garlic on it. One of the more interesting dishes I've had at a sushi place in a while. The ginger dressing was really tasty too and the shumai!My hubby ordered some roll with cream cheese and fried shrimp. I ordered a chirashi bowl. That also came out quickly. I loved the egg on my bowl and shared some of the sashimi pieces. It was not very busy but I can assure you, you'll want to stop in and give it a try. I'm still thinking of that Tadaki a week after the visit!This was our first time here so I can't wait to go back and try more! They have a sashimi salad, Hamachi Kama (grilled tuna cheek), a variety of interesting bento boxes and tempura udon! Now that it's cold, I can't wait for that udon soup! What are you waiting for? Go there. Get some. Life is too short for boring food!

Fish was good, seaweed was really chewy. Food lacked flavor. Small portions. Service was okay. A bit slow considering it was empty. Would not go back so many better and cheaper places. Also wrong order we ordered the chicken katsu bento box and just got the appetizer instead

Very average food and service. They don't have enough servers and three table that sat after us all got their orders done before ours. Blue Ginger is much better, either that or trek to Carrollton for a better experience.

Incredible! I came here once with a friend and needed it the week after. Incredibly quick service, the 2nd time I was there, my 2 rolls only took 6 minutes to come out. I will easily become a regular here. Best sushi ever!!!!
