Greeted warmly and seated quickly. Ordered a cheeseburger with Fries and my Sis ordered breakfast..eggs over easy, sausage, biscuits and gravy and grits with toast. She loved it but her meal was brought out without toast and by the time I finished my burger it still wasn't out. I tried the gravy and it was really good. The cheeseburger was soooo good. A total surprise because I tried the French fries first and was immediately disappointed. The burger was freshly made, wrapped and flavorful. I like that the buns are toasted and the patty is on the thinner side. The fries are "soggy" on the inside. Just horrible. We will be back...next time I'll try the onion rings. Service was quick and food arrived super fast...

Best breakfast in town!Eggs are awesome and are cooked as ordered. Hash browns cooked right. Only thing was the honey, it kinda tasted weird.

I have been to JR's many times, but I never wrote a review until now. This is one of the best home style food restaurants in the area. Each time I have visited the service is amazing. The greeting is given immediately, and the order is taken in a very timely manner. The kitchen has always been so fast, that I'm not even through my first cup of coffee, and my order is in front of me, and very rarely if ever do they get the order wrong.Whenever people from out of town come to visit, this is where I take them to get a great feel for Texas hospitality.Thank you JR's for being the best local spot to dine.Shout out to our server, Tabitha last week. She did an amazing job.

Small town restaurant near the big city. Great service and everyone was friendly. Wide variety of menu items for breakfast and lunch. We went for breakfast, but I'd like to try dinner too. Food came out quickly and was good (not great so only 4 stars). Prices were very fair. Diverse crowd and good people watching as an extra perk.

This place was packed on a Saturday morning! When we drove up to the place to meet a friend, there was almost no parking so we expected the food to be really delicious. We wound up parking on the street. This café is very well known in the area when you first walk into the store you're basically walking right into the dining room so there's not a lot of area for you to stand, but luckily the host and cashiers and other servers were able to get us seated right away. The weight staff is very attentive and never let my coffee or water go less than 3/4 full.We waited a little bit longer for the food, but they were so busy so we understood. I ordered the scrambler which is scrambled eggs with cheese vegetables came with a side of your choice. I chose hashbrowns and sausage patties. The food overall lacked seasoning and everything tasted a little undercooked. The bell peppers and onions were still more on the raw side, and the eggs were a little bit runny. The hashbrowns, even though they had a nice crust on the outside they were kind of undone in the middle. Not sure if I would come back to this place, but the customer service and cleanliness of the café was on point.

A locals favorite for comforting diner food. Service was fast and the food was plentiful. Ambience takes you back to the years gone by when JR's was the only restaurant between Saginaw and Oklahoma. A time when cowboys would hitch their horses outside for one last meal before the long trek north. I just made that up, but hopefully you get the idea.My salad was perfectly chilled iceberg lettuce, and the thousand island dressing was the full fat kind that had as many calories as the gravy on my buddies chicken fried steak. The iced teas were Texas sized too. A solid 4 Stars for what it is, a long time locals favorite for good Texas home cooking. Come with that expectation in mind and you won't be disappointed.

Fast friendly service, Very delicious home cooked style food. Hard to find places that the food doesn't upset my tummy. This one is on my list for a returning regular costumer . Only thing Im not a fan of is the toast is a little over cooked every time.

My boy and I got to go to one of my old favorites, Jr's Cafe in Saginaw for breakfast. It's was as good as I remember. Jen was our server and she is amazing. The food is delicious and came out quickly and it was hot. As you can see from the photo the boy loved his pork chops and egg breakfast platter. Great place with great food.

This place is always very busy, so was expecting very good food, but it was lacking quite a bit. The breakfast might be amazing, though, but didn't try it this time. I had a burger cravingFirst I asked for a bacon cheeseburger, but there was no bacon, so hopefully they just misheard be and charged for a cheeseburger. The meat had good flavor, but the bun falling apart, no bacon, etc made it hard for a well seasoned hamburger patty to save it. The fries weren't good at all imo... They tasted like my mother's French fries (she's a dreadful cook). They were doughy and no salt, seasoning, nothing, so couldn't eat many of those even with ketchup.I had a sweet tooth so tried the German chocolate pie. It looked amazing, but it was very dense and pretty bland even with the coconut, so couldn't eat more than half of it (if that much) before trashed the rest.I may visit here sometime when want breakfast, but I would def not recommend for their lunch (particularly their burgers), since they have to have a LOT of business for some reason

JR's Cafe in Saginaw is exactly what one would expect from a hometown joint... excellent food, hot coffee, and friendly service. Portion sizes are ample and the prices very reasonable. The owners of JR's Cafe also own Ginger Browns and Benbrook Cafe, which also has great food and great service. I highly recommend JR's Cafe. Come hungry. You won't be disappointed.
