Jefferson Street Bed and Breakfast

Lovely rooms on a nice, quiet street and a warm, friendly owner! My room was beautifully decorated with every luxury & comfort. Cozy reading chairs with lamps, a luxurious bed, jacuzzi in-room, & lots of great touches such as magazines, a table with coffee & tea things ready, etc. I especially loved the "goodie room", which can be opened with the guests' codes. This room is packed to the brim with loads of soft drinks, water, coffees, teas, a stocked fridge, toaster, bread, snacks, paperback books, & more. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the yard & grounds were badly in need of mowing, weeding, & just general tidying up. When I first drove up & saw the unmowed yard & weeds/grass in the flower beds, my heart just sank. However, the inside of my room was absolutely immaculate & luxurious. I hesitated to mention this because the lady who owns the place is so warm & really delightful. I wondered if perhaps her husband has health problems, which prevented him from mowing & maintaining the grounds. I think it would be a good investment to hire people to put some of the furniture & boxes in storage or, at the very least, hang some type of tarps or screens in front of the storage area. An exterior facelift would frame this little gem in a manner it deserves & hopefully bring more guests!

My fiance and I were looking to stay in a nicer hotel in Irving for one of my friend's wedding. We're a big fan of Bed and Breakfast-type establishments so we decided to try this place out. We stayed at the Tree Suite because we wanted to try out the jacuzzi.We ordered breakfast on the website but they said they were not doing that service at the time. I found that odd and wished they would have stated that on their website. When we arrived at the destination, nobody was at the facility but we were given direction on how to enter the room.The room was very comfortable, clean, and quaint. The bed was -very- comfortable and I loved the walk-in shower. Jacuzzi was very relaxing as well.I'd definitely be staying at this place again if I'm in the area.

My wife and I just planned a last minute anniversary stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We happened upon this one after the first one we looked at was booked up. Due to the pictures displayed on the website, we chose the Tree Room, especially since it contained a jacuzzi. When we arrived, I admit I was slightly disappointed in the location, but, only slightly, realizing not to expect much from Irving. But, once I got past that, I rather enjoyed the area, located in the Heritage historical region of Irving. We pulled into the long driveway to find our parking spot reserved with paper held by duct tape. Very cool.Our parking spot was right outside our room and we were immediately greeted by the owner, Lee. She was friendly by phone and in person. She made sure that the room was to our liking and showed us another room with all the cold sodas and snacks you could want, included in the package. You can bring as many drinks back to your room and store in the small fridge. They also had several bookshelves that you could choose from to read or even buy books from. Tom, the other owner, came to be sure we could understand our television set-up.Our room was a mixture of being a bit hoaky and a bit cool. They have a leafless tree overlooking the whirlpool tub. There was an awesome cowboy hat that hung near the bed. There were several wood ducks in the room. The bedframe was made of tree limbs. There were several books next to the bed for your reading pleasure. The bathroom was the best. It had an old-fashioned sink next to a wood wardrobe. There was also a shower if the whirlpool didn't work for you. They only lacked a door for the toilet, which was off to the side.I would say the room grows on you like the area, having a small town feel that leaves you wanting to come back. The best part of our stay was the breakfast. It was perfect. We had scrambled eggs that looked like a pancake, with several pieces of bacon on it. There was yogurt with fresh fruit on top, cut cantelope that was delicious, toast and orange juice. The coffee was awesome!! A great odor and flavor combined, the perfect touch to complete the meal, delivered to your door at the time you specify. Can't beat that for only 7 bucks per person.We topped off that morning by relaxing in the whirlpool jacuzzi in our room. What a great ending.I would avoid getting the cheaper flower arrangements, as I feel they were a bit overpriced for what you get.If you are looking for a quaint place, not fancy, located in a historical neighborhood, then you will enjoy this. The owners make you feel at home. You can see the place is a work in progress, but, the rooms are well taken care of.The area is a mixture of historic places and parks, along with some run down looking areas. The cool thing is that you have plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. You can walk around the area feeling safe, enjoying some of the nearby sights, and relaxing in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. You are also not far from Dallas or Fort Worth sights.

Very clean! Very comfortable! Felt nice to know someone was looking out for me rather than staying in a big, impersonal hotel.This was such a great find. I was attending a conference in Arlington in the Sheraton by the stadium. Originally I was going to stay in a hotel there but when I compared the prices and the reviews of the nearby hotels I decided to look elsewhere. I'm so glad I thought to look for B&B's because that's how I found the Jefferson Street B&B. I paid about $260 (including tax) for two nights and two breakfasts. SO much better than staying in a hotel. I stayed in the French room which was perfect. It has antique furniture and a beautiful stained-glass wall light. There was a small walk-in closet with a small refrigerator, a large desk, a bed, a couple chairs. The bathroom was lovely with marble and tile. There were several nice touches such as a few hangers in the closet in case you didn't have any, a back scratcher, hand lotion, a hair dryer, pens and pencils and a writing tablet including several "Things to Do in Dallas"-type booklets & a map. I loved the seat under the lamp with the beaded shade - perfect reading nook. There was a faux ficus tree in the corner and hardwood floors. It did smell a little like an antique shop which is to be expected in a room full of antique furniture. The bed was a wonderful nest of fresh, clean linens and pillows that just begs to be curled up in. I got in rather late which I had arranged ahead of time. There is no sign to be seen arriving in the dark so if you're coming in from E. 6th Street it is the first driveway on the right. Just drive to the back. I couldn't see where to go in the dark so I called Lee's cell phone number and she answered right away since she was waiting for me. She came out to the street to flag me down and show me where to park. There was a little room with a stocked refrigerator, a microwave, and a toaster. Since I got in late, I welcomed the toast & jam and hot tea I was able to make and take back to my room.This is not a big, corporate hotel - people live here and have opened up their home to guests. Yes, there are boxes and what looked like random antique auction finds in the breezeways but that didn't bother me a bit. I love how they have breakfast delivered to your room - I'm not into the kitchy sitting around with a bunch of people I don't know talking about other bed and breakfasts. Breakfast was simple but abundant - scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, yogurt with fresh fruit, etc. I thought it was well worth the cost. I felt very safe and would definitely recommend it to my friends.

For a honeymoon night it was perfect. This place has so much character and comfortable. I loved the nic nacs in the room and that tub was the best. I would stay here again and recommend to friends and family. July 17, 2017 will be the day my husband and i will never forget.

I had to pick up my husband at the Dallas airport in the middle of the night on his birthday, of all days, and I wanted to surprise him with a nap and lovely breakfast before heading home to Oklahoma. We stayed in the hill country room - a king size bed with beautiful, luxurious walk in shower - and everything was perfect. Lee and Tom run a fantastic show and were so sweet. It's private, romantic, and comfortable. I was so pleased and would recommend it to anyone looking for a home-like getaway in the middle of Dallas/Fort Worth.
