Irving Convention Center At Las Colinas

Modern, spacious and well maintained convention and conference center in an upscale and modern part of Dallas 15 min by car from DFW. Good acoustics. The only aspect that needs to be world on is the potency of the signal of their internal WiFi and the corresponding coverage for AT&T and Verizon cell phone coverage. Friendly and welcoming staff. An ideal place to have small to medium sized events

Had some great lunches at convention here. The rest of Las Colinas isn't so great.The Walmart in Irving is very much a cultural experience....

You can't miss this huge structure in the Las Colinas area. Its exterior looks like a giant rusty birdcage that crash landed here from outer space. The interior is cool and spacious with quick elevators or your choice of the slower escalators. There are numerous ballrooms and smaller rooms for pretty much any size gathering you're holding. The only complaint I could find was at the fourth floor level, just outside the ballrooms, it can get extremely loud if you get 100 or so people talking. There is no sound deadening material, so it gets very loud. The bathrooms are very clean and modern. They do have an outside smoking area on the third level and one nice design aspect is the outdoor flowing stairway that can take you to the ground level. Some yelpers have complained about the small parking garage. There are two hotels directly next to the center, the Westin and the Texican Court. However, there are quite a number of other hotels nearby along with some areas of fine dining. I've included a number of photos to help round out the review.

I was here for a business trip. I went to a convention that was all day long. This convention center is beautiful. I was in work mode so I didn't get the opportunity to take many pictures but if you ever get the opportunity to go here I highly recommend it! They have a cafeteria that serves Starbucks. Parking is super simple and the people who work here are super friendly.

I think this place is sooo gorgeous! I love the architectural look of it from the outside. I have attended an event here, and it was so spacious and perfect for the event. There were so many vendors so it definitely accommodated them.I also came here for my half marathon and for both of these events, I felt like parking was an issue. We had to park on the grass, do they not have enough parking areas for people? That would be the only reason I dropped a star.Lastly I have come here for a wedding, and it was just beautiful, and for that I do not remember parking on the grass!

I've been here twice for conferences and it's always been so easy to find this convention center. There are plenty of parking spots in a garage which is free and it's right next to the convention center which is awesome!!I didn't give this place 5 stars because they have a very strict food policy. You cannot bring any outside food, snacks or drinks into the convention center. I understand that it may cause issues but it's a little strict. You cannot bring your lunch from home if you're at an all day conference you'll have to eat it away from the building. Not sure about diabetic snacks so make sure if you need snacks from home for medical reasons you may want to ask an event coordinator because they will ask you to throw it away. Even my co-worker got questioned about a water bottle she brought in which was extreme! Anyways, this place is nice and clean. There are numerous restaurants around the convention center because they only have a small cafe so you can get some grub if you're conference doesn't offer food.

Although this place continues to look impressive, there are a couple of items that just seem to hurt it with the events I attend here. This weekend's was no different.Parking is the first problem. You have to get here immediately as the garage fills up fast. If you have a taller vehicle, you'll have problems as well. For my last 2 events I attended, either I had to park in a field across from it that became a quagmire and a very muddy mess or I had to park way down the street (half mile away and walk in the street as there aren't any sidewalks.The other item is lack of refreshments. They have a small snack bar in the convention center, but it can never handle the crowd size and does not have many offerings. In the past, they have used food trucks which are not cheap and not very fast.It is good for smaller sized events but when the crowd gets bigger or there are a lot of vehicles, it just does not seem to work as well as some other venues.

1st time at this convention center. It's really big! Its laid out well. The rooms are all labeled well so you know where your going. The rooms were comfortable. The staff were attentive. The snack stations and Breakfast were good. They have a Starbucks as well. Parking is in the garage connected to the convention center. Very easy access.

For those old enough to remember Reunion Arena, you will find the architecture of this place from the outside strangely reminiscent.I have been to this center many times, both planning and attending events here. It offers a lot of things other centers fail on, like a great staff to work with, versatile event space, and a nice parking garage dor the folks attending your event. Also, the food service is better than most as well. Whether you are planning a business meeting or an all out convention, concert, or other event, it is worth the time to visit with these folks.

Back again for the Dell Technologies Forum and this time, they got the 5th star. Found the check in quick, as it was on the 1st floor this time and the rooms/service provided were excellent.Not sure when I'll be back, but this is the standard to keep.Parking was easy, but almost full this time.
