Well, I was in the area and could only walk to a place nearby for groceries. This was the only "grocery" in the area within walking distance.-This looks like it used to be an older grocery store that used to sell the usual stuff, but it now sells mainly Indian foods. The majority of what I found upon walking in was packaged spice mixes, all different brands but all of the same 10 or 12 indian dishes. I must have seen 10 different brands for "butter chicken" or "chicken korma". 1/2 of the store is pre-packaged spice mixes. I bought one for chicken - which cooked up fine - but well, let's just say the gastro-intestinal side effects were not appreciated.-This store sells a small amount of vegetables, which I appreciate. The quality, however, is not exactly super fresh, but will barely do in a pinch.-They barely sell milk or butter here. And not much bread. Mostly Naan (or naan's - again, a number of brands of the same item).-This place could use some diversity in it's offerings. And fresher vegetables and fruits. Less packaged goods and more fresh items, please.

Today's random craving: curry. But I didn't want no stinkin' bottled curry you find at a place like Kroger. I wanted REAL curry. Made from scratch. Made by ME.So! Because of said craving and my previous knowledge that an Indian supermarket was located mere miles away on Macarthur Blvd., I decided to give this place a visit, hoping they would have some of the ingredients I needed.Did they ever. The selection of Indian items was astounding. Aisles of stuff I've never seen before, along with a produce section full of vegetables I didn't recognize. I found the ingredients I was looking for (curry leaves, coconut milk, curry paste, ginger root and naan), but was intrigued about trying the other stuff. The prices were great as well.Add friendly service to the mix, and I almost forgot that I was white. In conclusion, this store is hidden gem I'll definitely be back.P.S. My dish turned out amazing.

Great grocery store within walking distance of many Valley Ranch neighborhoods! They have lots of good frozen breads (chapati, paratha), a fresh veggie section, and all the different whole and ground spices you could want. I haven't been to the restaurant in the back yet, but it smelled delicious!

They have great service and this is probably the only Indian store/restaurant with a rating of 'A' on the food establishment inspection report compared to C and Ds that most other places have!https://ecs.ci.irving.tx.us/inspectionscores/

Probably one of my favorite Indian grocery stores. It's a small shop compared to others, but it has all my typical items I need. As far as the produce goes. along with any masalas I need. They also have some fresh pre made items on sale. They also are very clean, and sorry to say but not often packed, which I love, because I dont have to bump into other Indian customers, who won't get out of my way! Friendly staff too!

Somewhat decent sized indian store. But they don't really carry a lot of variety. The produce is not always fresh but that's always the case at most Indian stores.I would've suggested taj grocers but they've shut down recently.

Agree with the reviewer below who said that the quality of veggies here is better than india bazaar. They have the usual assortment of spices, lentils, frozen items, sweets and puja items. I wish they'd stock non veg items too. And they definitely need to put professional quality price tags on all their items. I found some items without tags, and some handwritten tags rolling around on the floor. Looks like they have sales on Indian snack items. I went the week after rakhi and found a whole table laid out with cool snacks like chakli, bhel, banana chips, mathri and other yummy stuff.

This store has been around for ages and has a loyal following even though the bigger, newer India Bazaar is 2 blocks away. The vegetables here are usually fresher than at the IB and they have tried to maintain the quality and freshness of their products. They always seem to have some unique items such as sprouted beans which the other indian Stores dont often carry. The newest addition to the store is their hole in the wall food counter called "Rajwadi Snacks". The name indicates that they serve food from the Western Indian state of Rajasthan. They also however have a lot of items from the neighboring states. The food is fresh and tasty. Beware of the spice level.
