First cold noodle experience.Honestly not bad, it was a pretty hot day so it was super refreshing. Not my personal favorite Korean food due to the chewy nature of the noodles and more slimy texture but it was worth the try.The flavors were good, I enjoyed the level of spice and savory that the broth(?) employed. The raw fish I got was ok, felt a little stiff, just not my cup of tea.The free, refillable soup was a nice touch, and honestly very refreshing, light, and delicious. I wish there was more of a banchan selection + refill on that as well.

This was a cool and new experience for me. Walking in, we ordered at the counter and they gave us a buzzer. We were told that everything is self serve and that they do not accept tips. Typically you would seat yourself, but they were nice to allow us to sit in a separate room since we had a larger party. Once our order was ready, we picked it up at the counter by the kitchen. There, you could also get complimentary water from a cooler and soup broth served from a big urn dispenser. Silverware can be found at your table inside a drawer. Once you're done eating, you return your tray back to the kitchen counter where there is a rack for you to place it on. I don't usually eat cold noodles but set out to try it from a place that seemingly specializes in it. I am a fan. It was so refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. I ordered the spicy version with pork shoulder combo. The noodles are thin and the sauce was not overwhelmingly spicy. The pork was flavorful and served on a bed of sautéed onions. You could also opt for galbi in the combo set. We also tried the pancake and mandu. Both were fine. The star of the show is definitely the cold noodles. The complimentary soup was also very delicious. It's piping hot and has a nice light flavor. They also have a few other menu offerings such as oxtail soup, beef rib soup, and bibimbap. Would definitely come back!

Went back a couple of weeks ago and still delicious! Get the cold noodles with some grilled meat to wrap your noodles around.

I am not super familiar with cold soba noodles as a concept, but this was a great introduction. The location is clean and well-organized. We ordered at the counter and our food was ready quickly. Texas is hot for most of the year, so a big bowl of cold noodles is a special kind of refreshing. My companions also ordered some of the BBQ options and enjoyed the quality and seasoning. I'm glad we found this small place!

Okay so as a first timer it was a bit confusing. It's a self service place. We weren't greeted or helped so knowing what to do was confusing. Once you go in there's a counter to your left. You look at the menu there and then place an order. They will give you a buzzer and you find your own seat. Once seated you will see another section for when your buzzer activates... that's where you would pick up what you ordered. There's a broth section which is complimentary and hot. Which has no limits. You can also get your own water at their refill stations. The utensils are also located there as well as the tables you chose to sit at (located on the side like a drawer). After getting the hang of the restaurant placement we patiently waited for our buzzer. Mul nyangmyun: cold refreshing with a slightly thinner noodles that I am used to. Added some mustard and vinegar to taste and it was quite enjoyable. The potato pancake isn't my favorite as it seemed stale and extremely dry from what I am used to.Hwe nyangmyun: nice and flavorful but felt like it was missing something. The Hwe itself was very delicious and tender. All in all for a nice warm day the Mul nyangmyun hit the spot as well as the complimentary broth.

Hampyong Cold Noodle is a fantastic option for Korean cold noodles and if I lived in Dallas, I would most certainly be here all the time. It's a pretty casual restaurant and was relatively empty at 7:30 PM on a weekday. You order your food near the entrance and you pick up your food at the counter, kind of like in a food court. They have super delicious, hot soup on tap that is light, savory, and just overall delightful. The pricing is reasonable and the portion sizes of the noodles especially are pretty generous.Hwe Naengmyun (3.75/5): The fish is marinated in a way that the texture was rather chewy, kind of like ceviche. The chewy noodle texture is fantastic, but personally I think the red sauce is a bit one note though.Mul Naengmyun (4.25/5): If you're going to get the naengmyun, I would recommend this one. You can enjoy the broth much more in this version, which manages to ride the line between sweet and savory.Dol Sam Kim (3.75/5): They skimped a little on the pork belly, but the flavors were all solid. My main complaint is that if you're ordering this, you probably want the crispy rice from the hot stone bowl, but the rice didn't really pick up that texture.Galbi Tang (4.25/5): A solid version of galbi tang. Good depth of flavor and you season it with salt yourself, like you're supposed to. Not the best version I've had, but certainly hits the spot.

I went with a lot of church friends after Christmas service this morning and it was great. Food seemed reasonably priced in comparison to other Korean restaurants in the area and food was pretty good. The spicy pork stew tasted exactly I had imagined and the dumplings as well. The food was great and all, but there was a little special something missing from the meal. It was good and exactly as expected, but it was not great and it wasn't anything special either. However still a great experience with good food if you are craving homey Korean type meals.

I was visiting and wanted to get nangmyun from here cause I liked this place the best when I visited tx previously. And it did not disappoint! The noodles and the broth were so yummy. I love that you order at the counter and they even have a sign that says 'no tip'. Which is actually super helpful in this economy with all the inflation. I went one more time during my trip (it was that good!) and got the hwae nangmyun. There was so much and I asked for a cold broth on the side which they easily accommodated.

Food is delicious and not too expensive here. The interior design made it seem like we were in Korea! We got the nengmyun (cold noodle) and neck steak combo. The noodles were really chewy and good. My friends said the broth was really good but for me it was ok. I think I'd like to try it again next time. The korean bbq was delicious. The seasoning was perfect and the meat was juicy. Ok, I know they're known for their cold noodles but ....my husband ordered the meat gukbap (고기 국밥) and omg if you want a rich, flavorful broth with just enough spicy to awaken your senses, you have to get that. It came with rice and banchan. Honestly, I would get that if I went here again next time. The broth is insane and not something you can cook up easily at home. Tastes like yukcaejang. Everything is self service. You order and pay at the front desk, and pick it up there when your food is ready.

The food was just ok IMO. Short ribs were good, but could've gone without the cold noodles. $28 for one cold noodles with galbi is pretty steep too
